Not sure what to list him as. Wales Rugby star signs with the Chiefs. 22 years old. 6’3 194 4.43 40 (claims he can run in the 4.2’s). Nicknamed Rees-Lightning. That’s all I got.
Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz reports the Chiefs are signing rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit to play RB/WR.
Rees-Zammit is a 23-year-old Welsh rugby player who joined the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program earlier this year. He visited the Browns, Jets, Broncos, and Chiefs, impressing the Chiefs enough to sign him. Rees-Zammit has played rugby in Wales, England, and internationally. The reigning champion Chiefs now add him with the intent of trying to play him at running back and/or wide receiver.
Offensive Weapon presumablyI understand the lack of a good position to classify him as, but what is your intention with "OW"?
That’s it. Is there a designation that would be more appropriate?Offensive Weapon presumablyI understand the lack of a good position to classify him as, but what is your intention with "OW"?
I see. No, I have no idea! Was just curious. Thought maybe "ornery Welshman".That’s it. Is there a designation that would be more appropriate?Offensive Weapon presumablyI understand the lack of a good position to classify him as, but what is your intention with "OW"?
There's also a movie about his sister. Heck of a family. Also, if you are bored, read about Jeremy Bloom. Crazy impressive guy.
I have to imagine it’s most for special teams. As athletic as he may be, it’s hard to imagine him playing RB or WR at a level better than any NFL players, even backups.Reminds me of when the Eagles signed Jeremy Bloom. I actually went to the Eagles camp that year and while Jeremy was undoubtedly fast, he couldn't even get off the line against NFL caliber defensive backs.
I wonder if this is maybe to make him a kick return specialist under the new rules?
Big shoes to fill ... What foreign character is he going to pioneer on the jersey?I see big things for him as the next Moritz boehringer

“RB Louis Rees-Zammit: He’s raw and has much to learn but it’s impressive how much of the game he’s picked up already and how his rugby skills transfer to the football field. His speed shows up big time but his confidence is equally impressive.”

Today will be a quick day for the last day of #Chiefs rookie minicamp..
Louis Rees-Zammit’s speed and quickness has been apparent this weekend and he’s been improving at catching punts..
