I haven't read the whole thread, but why was Jason Woods's thread, celebrating T.O.'s minor injury, locked? You know, the one with a ":HUGESIGHOFRELIEF:" and a dancing pickle. TIA
I am assuming he regretted making that thread.I haven't read the whole thread, but why was Jason Woods's thread, celebrating T.O.'s minor injury, locked? You know, the one with a ":HUGESIGHOFRELIEF:" and a dancing pickle. TIA
Reid was no offensive genius before TO came to town.Let's not get caught up in this years hype.Agreed - that is the worst comparison I've seen on the board.Reid>>>>>>TiceRemember the way Minny's O fell apart with the loss of Moss...and they have 3 runningbacks better than Westbrook.
TO is my least favorite player, too. And, I'm not devastated in the least to hear this news. Does this make me a bad person? Or, is it understandable that I don't weep given his personal antics, particularly the taunting showboating display in Texas Stadium, and the Eagles' fans glee at Michael Irvin lying on the carpet in Philly? As a fan of football, should I really be depressed about TO right now? There is no player I personally dislike more than TO, but from an NFL fan perspective, I am devastated that he may be out for the year.
"This year's hype"??? Someone hasn't been paying attention over the last 5 years.Reid was no offensive genius before TO came to town.Let's not get caught up in this years hype.Agreed - that is the worst comparison I've seen on the board.Reid>>>>>>TiceRemember the way Minny's O fell apart with the loss of Moss...and they have 3 runningbacks better than Westbrook.
I don't think the Panthers are better...you'd have to be nuts to think that.Packers, Falcons, maybe maybe the Vikings.OK...you can argue the Packers (maybe) being better...but the Panthers? THEY ARE 6-8 PEOPLE...talk about drinking Kool Aid. GB Panthers fans confusing mediocrity with being an NFC contender.
ATL, MIN and GB could come into Philly on a good day and beat the Eagles now, of that I'm certain. Eagles will (and should) be favored against any of them (assuming the Birds circle the wagons and win the divisional) but it will be a tremendously tough task.
I own him in 3 $$$ leagues and he IS my least favorite player.TO is my least favorite player, too. And, I'm not devastated in the least to hear this news. Does this make me a bad person? The birds better hope the Saints don't make the playoffs...the Iggles seem to have trouble with teams in black and gold... :stillers:OK...you can argue the Packers (maybe) being better...but the Panthers? Hmmm....The Panthers are better than their 6-8 record shows. They aren't the same team where many of their starters were put on injured reserve at the first part of the season. The Panthers almost knocked off Atlanta this past weekend. They didn't look too mediocre to me.OK...you can argue the Packers (maybe) being better...but the Panthers? this is the reply that merits banishment?? cool down, man. this "joke" is nothing compared to the "######" remark that I thought was grounds for dismissal. oh, but that came from an eagle fan so it's ok?look, there are people here who are happy when a player they despise get injured. Is it wrong? Probably. almost shamefully (well, not really), I admit to that myself (Michael Irvin, circa 1999, The Vet). And I admit to feeling that way hearing the news about TO. Mind you, his death or permanent disability would NOT please me. But a broken bone? And to see all these birdy fans crying? Sorry, but I can't help but be happy. that is just my honest feeling on the matter so please don't ban me. ban the guy who, ironically enough, called out gays like TO did Garcia (hmm, maybe the god of Lamda has exorcised his wrath on TO for that?).the reality is that I now fully expect the Eagles to rally and win the NFC.Sweet....Maybe they'll have to amputate it?
I agree with your assessment of Eagles fans.I've never understood the mentality of "rubbing it in" someone else's face, especially when they are down, disheartened. I have always found persons that need to do so to be of limited intelligence and justifiably low self esteem.
Did anyone here "rub it in" on this thread? I haven't seen it. Some find it ironic what happened/where it happened and all. Some aren't "depressed" about it. But, that's not the same as rubbing it in.I've never understood the mentality of "rubbing it in" someone else's face, especially when they are down, disheartened. I have always found persons that need to do so to be of limited intelligence and justifiably low self esteem.
I thought their offense had always been their biggest problem before TO came to town. Maybe I'm wrong. My perception of this team in the past was:Special teams - SolidDefense - Awesome (wtg Jim Johnson)Offense - McNabb, Staley, Pinkston, Freddie Mitchell, etc. - Scared no one.If I'm wrong, my bad."This year's hype"??? Someone hasn't been paying attention over the last 5 years.Reid was no offensive genius before TO came to town.Let's not get caught up in this years hype.Agreed - that is the worst comparison I've seen on the board.Reid>>>>>>TiceRemember the way Minny's O fell apart with the loss of Moss...and they have 3 runningbacks better than Westbrook.
I wonder if you would be so quick to threaten the ban stick if the "joke" were about a player from another team. My guess is no.Guys, cool it with the name calling, and WFFL...one more "joke" about a career threatening injury to TO or anyone else and you're banned, understood?

The Eagles were fortunate to beat the Packers last year. This year, as a Packer fan, I believe the Packers are not playing as well, and absent their best game, would present a lesser challenge to the Eagles. The big unknown, of course, is how the Eagles will adjust to Owens' absence. Can they raise their game back to near last year's level with a lineup suffle? I believe Reid will rally the Eagles and have them playing at last year's level or better. I still like their chances to emerge from the NFC (though they are reduced). As for winning the Superbowl, I put their odds at less than 50% before, now I'd say less than 25%. But just imagine the glory if they do prevail when all looked lost.OK...you can argue the Packers (maybe) being better...but the Panthers? THEY ARE 6-8 PEOPLE...talk about drinking Kool Aid. So Woods locked it?I am assuming he regretted making that thread.I haven't read the whole thread, but why was Jason Woods's thread, celebrating T.O.'s minor injury, locked? You know, the one with a ":HUGESIGHOFRELIEF:" and a dancing pickle. TIA
For some of the name calling and celebratory posts that I see when these types of injuries happen, I wouldn't mind seeing some people banned around here.I wonder if you would be so quick to threaten the ban stick if the "joke" were about a player from another team. My guess is no.Guys, cool it with the name calling, and WFFL...one more "joke" about a career threatening injury to TO or anyone else and you're banned, understood?
1. As long as they don't film it2. Bad luck on TO's part. Two things come to mind:1. I think Andy Reid should drop by TO's hospital room wearing a pair of tights to help cheer him up.2. What is up with the Roy Williams leg-breaking style of tackling?
No, I don't understand!!!! So now we have to make posts that conform to the "moderators" feelings??? That is !! So if someones post rubs Jason Wood wrong you will get banned. There have been plenty of "I hope Manning gets injured" posts flying around here, but when it hits home, biased mods start to catch feelings about it. I say screw that and I'm also very happy TO is out for the year. Actually, as an eagles hater from philly, not much makes me happier!!! So Joe B., I say handle this issue with swift authority as your "mods" are making threats based on people stating their opinions, afterall this is America. It is unfair to ban someone because you don't agree with his opinion, and it is even worse because you are an eagles homer who is pissed off and trying to throw your weight around!! I support you WFFL!!!!!!Guys, cool it with the name calling, and WFFL...one more "joke" about a career threatening injury to TO or anyone else and you're banned, understood?
As to the news, I'm not going to lie, I'm devastated. Every year I convince myself that I'm not going to obsess about the Eagles and football in general as much as I've had in the past, and yet every season somehow the Eagles have managed to pull me right back into the mix and then some.
I really can't believe this.
I had to laugh at this too. Banning somebody for nonsense like that? C'mon.....the guy was an idiot for making those comments so let him suffer the natural consequences. Maybe we can get a list of all the favorite teams that are off limits?Kind of reminiscent of some of the New England Patriot stuff that was going on last year.I wonder if you would be so quick to threaten the ban stick if the "joke" were about a player from another team. My guess is no.Guys, cool it with the name calling, and WFFL...one more "joke" about a career threatening injury to TO or anyone else and you're banned, understood?
In an effort to "consolidate" the TO discussion here.So Woods locked it?I am assuming he regretted making that thread.I haven't read the whole thread, but why was Jason Woods's thread, celebrating T.O.'s minor injury, locked? You know, the one with a ":HUGESIGHOFRELIEF:" and a dancing pickle. TIA
Well since I dislike Philly. The bills made it to Super Bowls big differnce.Hopefully TO will be back up and betting with coaches to wear tights next year.As both a TO owner (of course, in the league I have TO, I'm probably knocked out anyway) and a fan of good football this sucks.Seriously, show some class guys, either a person got hurt, or we lost one of the more exciting players in the game. Sadly, the Eagles are going to make it 4 in a row now. Almost the Bills.
How about those Titans yesterday?BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAEverybody be cool....
Except the Bills. We will forever remember the Bills. That's football. The premier teams win despite injuries. If the Eagles were really only that good by hanging onto a ligament in TO's leg, then they weren't a championship team.Nobody remembers the also rans who had some lame excuse about an injury. They only remember the champions. If the Eagles are worthy of being a Super Bowl champ, they will find a way to get it done. You guys just don't know how it feels. To watch a team you really, really care about come so close to great success, only to fall just short because the passing game just doesn't quite measure up to the rest of the team's excellence. Then, in the off-season, you acquire TO. Sure, he's kind of loud and obnoxious but he has a very special talent and it's enough to put your team over the top. But then, just as quickly as he's there - almost before you have time to appreciate what his presence means - he's gone. You're left devastated, you feel cheated. And to make matters worse, your team has let the rest of the already weak WR corps deteriorate because TO is so dominant and now you're worse off than if you'd never had him.Yes, you guys just don't know how it feels to be a Ravens fan. Well, except for the Eagles fans. That being said, I'm very sorry about this. I think TO is the single most compelling person in the NFL - I thought his Ray Lewis dance was hysterical and that's coming from a guy with a Ray Lewis avatar.
Hey Bailiver,First of all, the response you quote also clearly had me saying for everyone to quit the name calling. Use of the term "######" is also not tolerated. But you've been around these threads long enough to know that wishing or celebrating injury just isn't tolerated, never has been, never will be.Now, since I'm an Eagles fan there's no doubt I was laser focused on this thread, thus me issuing the warning. Just as I would expect Levin to be all over a thread relating to a Fins injury, or Shick! in a SEA injury thread, etc... The only difference between this warning and others is that I didn't need to have a dozen REPORT POSTS alerting me to the transgression since I was already here. And one other point, when someone became a member the day before and has no posting history here, they get an immediate and clear warning. As you may or may not know, a lot of other boards are more lenient in what's allowed; so better to establish the rules for a newcomer before it gets out of hand.WoodrowI wonder if you would be so quick to threaten the ban stick if the "joke" were about a player from another team. You are absolutely right. Time to be excellent to one another. Sorry, just another disgruntled Bucs fan here.Everybody be cool....

Dude, the Titans are f'ing TERRIBLE. They can't tackle and half the O-line should have been cut LONG ago. Its nice to know that McNair's heir-apparent is already on the roster and the skill positions are relatively loaded (Volek, Brown, Troupe, Kinney, Bennett, Mason, Calico, etc.) but the rest is WRETCHED.However, I still think you will be getting a 2 week vacation...How about those Titans yesterday?BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAEverybody be cool....

:rotflmao:Mike Tice would still run TO out there as a decoy if he played for the Vikings this week.

To be fair, if you saw that tackle there was nothing particularly leg-breaking or brutal about it. He grabbed him by the should pads behind the neck and just pulled him down. Owens's leg doubled under him awkwardly. It'll be a real test for the Eagles to see if they can get used to playing without Owens again. They're still probably the best team in the NFC, but not by much now. It'll be a big test for their fans, too, just like it would for Colts fans if Manning went down. And when you get near a few Eagles fans (just a very few of them, not the ones who just root root root for their team, but the ones who've been arrogant blowhards all year) you can hear the sound of air hissing out of their balloons right now.2. What is up with the Roy Williams leg-breaking style of tackling?
