PA Diaper Sniper Captured (1 Viewer)

Found bombs in the area.
As he has in the past, Bivens, who is spearheading the manhunts, had a personal message for Frein: "I am calling on you, Eric, to surrender. You are clearly stressed. You are making significant mistakes. We continue to take your supplies and your weapon stockpiles. While you are no doubt weakening our troopers' resolve is very strong. We are not going anywhere."
Do they think he has internet up in the woods? How the heck do they think he's getting this "personal message?"
Portable radio? I'm sure this is making the local radio sound bites.

I'm sure that's why they're calling him the Diaper Sniper, too. To piss him off.

I could easily be wrong (probably am), but I would think this is more to reassure the public and keep morale going for LE.

Kind of like how Kim Jong Un makes up stuff to make people think he's a borderline deity so the keep believing his crap. I see how you work PA PD.

"Frein's non-confrontational and gutless efforts to kill or injure law enforcement from a distance."
Yeah, cause I'm sure when the cops finally find him, they'll be lining up to have a gun fight at high noon.

Dear TIS,

would you kindly update the thread title to include the phrase "diaper sniper"?

TIA,

Jaysus (from the internet)

Diaper Sniper

Qu'est-ce que c'est?
fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa fa far better

run run run run

run run run away

I'm once again struck by how much manpower and law enforcement resources can be tied up looking for a single shooter. I first thought about this with the DC Sniper situation.

If an enemy of the US ever wanted to divert loads of law enforcement resources all at once they'd only need to have 4 or 5 different shooters operating around the country killing law enforcement or just random citizens.
You've just made a list, guy.
Exactly - lots of armchair jihading here. Why give 'em pointers?

Yep, I think with a guy like this the idea is to make him lose his cool so he makes a mistake.

I guess his bunker needs some landscaping.

He was last seen near a nursery. This article also conveniently lists his parent's address. As someone who google maps everything, I appreciated this tid bit.

Also, apparently, this so-called "expert survivalist" has been living off Ramen and Tuna. Bear Grylls woudl not be impressed. The new strategy should just be to wait for his sodium and mercury levels to spike and get him when he drops dead.

I'm sure he was looking for fertilizer at the nursery.

They should look for him hiding under a dead carcass drinking his own piss

When do they just bring in the napalm?
I was thinking Agent Orange to defoliate the area.
Or just hold out another week or two and winter will do it for you. Once the leaves fall and the FLIR helicopters work better, he's done for...unless he dies from the elements or something, in which case it'll take a while to find him.

I actually think that might be the coolest scenario. Dude has a bunker somewhere, and dies in it. Cops keep looking for months, thinking the trail is getting "cold." Eventually they stop, and you've got a DB Cooper type story where you're not sure if he's dead, alive, or what.

Have they ruled out that he might be a Reptilian? Cold blooded, body temp matches air temp. He's going to be hibernating soon.

What about that scenario is cool? This guy needs to be caught and face trial.

Calm down Debbie Downer. I think we all agree he needs to be caught. "Cool" doesn't always indicate what I'd want as the desired outcome. I think it'd be cool if he turned out to be an alien with super-human powers, but I'm not wishing for that.

oh please, oh please, oh please...

If they found his campsite, why didn't they track him with dogs? The scent should be fresh and Freen should be close?

I've wondered this too...I feel like if you've got dogs, and you can physically get to where he is, you should be able to find him.

They mentioned it earlier, iirc. The dogs would lose the trail at some point. Through a river, rough terrain, etc.

From what I've heard it is very difficult to evade these dogs. But to do it multiple times while being pursued in an area teeming with the police... Seems unbelievable.

Yeah. I mentioned earlier to watch the Mythbusters episode on this...They ran through creeks, tried all sorts of distraction methods, etc. The dog found them pretty much every time. I can't imagine him not eventually being tracked by dogs.

I really do feel for the officers out there searching. It's basically Russian roulette because odds are he will get the first shot off if you happen to be the first one who finds him. Unless they somehow isolate his position without him knowing that he's been found and can approach with the utmost caution (aka in the Rook), I feel like he'll unfortunately kill at least one more person via ambush.

I wonder if the police are intentionally letting him think that they are only searching for him where he's not? Just playing along with all the "clues" he's left. Hoping to lull him into letting his guard down.

The longer it goes on, the more I expect the guy is not in the woods at all. Either he got out long ago or is hunkered down in a house somewhere.

Honestly, how would they know he isn't? If he had some specific place already set up, he could be living in a basement or something. There are a ton of vacation homes up there. I don't think they can break into all of them and check (or use the Rook to "look in the attic") He could be just sitting around, playing Call of Duty for hours on end, gamer tag ErictheRed...then, eat his Ramen and go walk around in the woods for a few hours. Leave a few diapers here, a few cigs there, drop some ammo under a random tree...go wave at a trooper from a cliff, then run back to his little enclave and play some more COD.

the bolded pretty much sums up my typical week.

I think the guy is probably hunkered down in the Rook somewhere. Have they checked there?

No doubt he has to be caught, but he is making law enforcement look pretty foolish at this point. My guess is he left all this stuff behind a long time ago and is long gone from the area. The leaves will fall, winter will come, and they will give up looking in the woods cause' he just isn't there. The other possibility is that he is close by, he is holed up in a vacation home, cabin etc and is prepared to wait this out as long as it takes figuring they will never take him alive.

It would be really interesting to hear his tale of how he has been able to evade capture for this long. I wonder if he thought he would make it this long or not. Obviously a pretty smart guy whose talents are being completely wasted.... bummer.

How exactly do you make people think that a poop filled diaper is fresh when in fact it was left behind "a long time ago"?
