Packer/Bear week used to be fun around here (1 Viewer)

What's funny is how all the haters disappeared last year after the Bears went to the SB. We heard the same thing the entire season over and over again. The Bears suck. They may make the playoffs but won't go far. Well, where'd they all go after we went to the SB? Not a single one of them stepped up to the plate and said they were wrong. The same that always happens around here. Just the same old tired bs about how the NFC was weak and anyone could've went to the SB in the NFC. So spare me with the Bears fans have stopped posting shtick. We're in every Bears thread on here. :lmao:
BTW, how'd that game turn out for ya??
:hophead:

Personally, I've never had a hatred or disliking for the Packers. Maybe that's because I'm not from Chicago but I'm not sure. Their just another team. Packers fans, on other hand, that's a different story at times.

As an opposing player, I may have more respect for Brett Favre than anyone in the league. Packers fans don't realize how lucky they are to have a qb like Favre. Suffering through 1 qb after another during my entire lifetime as a Bears fan has been brutal.

Like Mr Pack said, it would be nice if we could both be good during the same year but it doesn't look likely. It shoud be a good game nonetheless.

I know I'm a homer but I still think we can turn it around. I have faith in Lovie and our players.

I'll be at Lambeau Sunday night and looking forward to the Bear game as much as ever. I've now sat through three straight Bears wins at Lambeau, including the 26-0 debacle in last season's home opener, so there are some open wounds right now that need some healing (although the party at Soldier Field on new year's eve last season certainly took some of the pain away).I'm sure Brian Urlacher is happy that William Henderson has finally retired, as Hendo made a career out of taking the overrated Bears MLB out of the play at will. If Harris is out or even limited, Urlacher will spend much of the day on his back looking up at the Green Bay skies.
I am supposed to be going to this game too.

Man, I'm going to hang this list on my door for Halloween - I don't think there's anything scarier. And remember cheeseheads - Henry Burris was originally YOURS.

Come on cheeseheads, are you really searching for sympathy for your crap QBs of the 70s? We have to reach back to all of last week to pull up our latest crap QB.Aaron Rodgers' name will be on that list shortly.

Correct, but we knew he sucked that's why we got rid of him and :jawdrop: when you guys picked him up and thought he was the next best thing.

We also trusted you guys when you said that Old Milwaukee's Best was beer, cow tipping was a fun pasttime and that Wisconsin women had skinny ankles. You lied to us there too.

We don't want sympathy. It's one reason we truely appreciate being able to watch Favre all these years. :goodposting:

I was around here during the Super Bowl and if I recall correctly there were a lot of Packer fans congratulating Bear fans on their teams success.Whoever gets to the Super Bowl from the NFC, especially the NFC North, should be cheered for by all NFC fans as the AFC needs a beat down in the big game in the worst way.

I usually always pull for the NFC. The Bears have been bad for so long. I didn't much of a choice come playoff time.I don't remember a lot of people congratulating the Bears on making the SB, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen. It just seems like the same thing around here since last season. Most said the Bears only did well because they were in the NFC and so on. Then most said they wouldn't go deep in playoffs. Some on here constantly trash certain teams just waiting for them to slip up. Then when they do, they like to pour on and mock us. It gets old. The Bears have been awful this year. There's no doubt about it. It's not much fun.

bears win this one. there, I said it. Packers are overrated as any team I've ever witnessed.
So you didn't see any Bears games in either the 2001 or 2006 seasons?
 Keep running it 50yds a game. We'll see how far that gets them. Nothing about the Bears was overrated last year.

Something weird in my head is telling me that the Bears will upset Green Bay. NFL = Never Figure League

Then I start thinking about their starting QB and RB. Doh.

Its a division game and as with all division games the odds are 50/50 for both teams regardless of the records. Its hard to get an advantage on a team you play twice a year.

The only advantage the Packers have is that they are playing at home.

The Bears always scare me, even in their down years. It has gotten to the point where I prefer to see Green Bay play them in Chicago where Favre has owned the field.

The Lions scare me only in Detroit. For some reason they give the Packers fits there.

The Vikings just annoy me. Take that flabby slob Ragnar and stuff him. And that Baruup Baruup horn is annoying. Their cheerleaders on the other hand...

The Bears' season is far from over. The 2004 Packers started 1-4 and ended up hosting a Playoff game...
And then pissed away a golden chance to go to the Super Bowl.
It's very difficult to go to the Superbowl when your quarterback throws four picks in the wildcard game. The Packers had some talent that year, but let's not get carried away here.
The Packers should have beaten the Eagles in the second round game that year. That game was all theirs and thanks to Sherman and Donatell they pissed it away. In the NFC title game would've been the Panthers, who were red hot at the time but I like the Packers chances in that one. Would've been a great game. That was a golden opportunity for the Packers to get to the Super Bowl but thanks to Donatell and Sherman they pissed it away.

It's come out since that Sherman overruled Donatell on that last Defensive formation. Donatell wanted to blitz, Sherman wanted the prevent, or whatever the hell they played that play. 4th & 26 is all on Sherman.

Indeed. It's the cows that have skinny ankles and that's why they tip so easily. If anyone touted Milwaukee's Best it was only as an additive to gardens to keep away stray cats and deer.

The game was lost when Sherman didn't have the guts to go for it on 4th and 1. The Packers had been gutting the Eagles all day on the ground. They were averaging over 5 yards per carry but he punted the ball away and gained a few measly yards of field position. Going in, being on the road, and having a chance to salt the game away with one running play when the running game was unbelievably effective he lost heart. If memory serves that year the Packers had beaten the Patriots in Foxboro so I think they would have given them quite a game had they gotten to the Superbowl.

Donatell screwed up enough games that season - including the Monday Night game against Philly - that he doesn't get a pass from me. Sorry.

That's very true too, but the season boiled down that one play, and that was Sherman's call, not Donatell's.

Donatell doesn't get a pass from me. Were it not for an excellent individual play by Al Harris, Donatell would've been fired a week earlier because the Packers probably would've lost to Seattle. The Seahawks were scoring at will in that game. No pass from me. Sorry.

I've been quiet since the Bears have insulted themselves enough this season. I see no reason to pile on their fans and remind them how bad they are. ;)

The Cubs have taken much of my trash-talking the Packers time.

BTW, Pack still suck.

Favorite games include the 61-7 game anound 1980.

Game in 85 at Lambeau where Perry caught the TD pass to win the game.

Game at Lambeau where the Bears blocked the FG to win after Payton died.

Ones I hate usually involve any at Soldier Field and Favre in involved. It is nice to see GB doing well. It is good for the league.

I don't like this game one bit as a Packers fan. Bears need to win more than the Packers do, and freaky things always happen in prime time. Plus, it's Packers/Bears, records mean nothing.
