Panic Mode! Who are you giving up on? (1 Viewer)

Not there yet...but Jordan Matthews is trending towards the trash heap
Weirdest thing is he has his worst games when the Eagles offense does well. Early on he was playing poorly from a football perspective but putting up decent numbers. Lately he's been disappearing.
And to think, after week 1 I was all fired up that I took Emmanuel Sanders over Matthews in my PPR league.

Mine is Ameer Abdullah. Not cutting him yet but I keep giving him chances for some reason. The Lions are such a mess.

i want to throw peyton manning out the window...
I didn't like him and thought there was some risk coming into the season so I avoided him and Bronco players but I never thought it would be anywhere near this...completely crazy.

Melvin Gordon...or should I have already given up on him after last week?
He did have over 90 combined yards behind a horrible offensive line. I do agree the start of his career has been disappointed but he has too much talent to not be at least a decent back. Though in redraft I may be looking to move after his next decent game unless somehow SD can fix that offensive line.
"Lucky" for me, my RB situation sucks so much that I'm pretty much stuck with him. I do hope you're right and at least he turns out decent sooner rather than later.

Players I SHOULD BE giving up on:

Ameer Abdullah

David Johnson

Duke Johnson Jr

CJ Spiller

Darren Sproles

Golden Tate

No idea how I'm in second place with these clowns.
Certainly, the volume is not what we'd like but he's scored in 4 of his first 5 games (as a runner, receiver, and returner) and plays on a good team behind a fragile Ellington and castoff CJ0K. Not sure he belongs on a list of guys to give up on
Yeah, this is more like my "that didn't turn out like I had hoped" list rather than guys I'm giving up on. The three rookies all have upside and varying degrees of a timeshare. Tate is exactly who we thought he was.

But I probably will part with my two veteran pass catching RBs to cover byes since they're both part 3 of a RBBC situation. I suspect they'll still be on the wire in a few weeks if I want them back.

OTOH, if I drop AA or either DJ, my league mates would blow their budget to grab them.

:oldunsure:

Hmmm....
Rookie RB (approx 13th round ADP) with 6 multi-dimensional TDs spread out over 4 of his first 5 pro games is not what you hoped for? Jeez...you are a demanding owner :P

Hey, look, ended with an emoji. Just kidding!

Yeah, hard to plug him in given the limited utilization & Arians weekly "He plays like a rookie. Young guys sit. This isn't complicated." comments.

Attempts 0-5-7-3-3

Touched 1-6-10-7-3

Then I look at his full PPR with return yardage weekly output (my redraft):

FF 16.36-19.66-7.10-16.48-13.30

Of course having ignored his RB9 performance to date, I'm sure I'll get rewarded with a single digit gem as soon as I ice up and put him my lineup.

:P

The contrast between his game last year @OAK vs. this year is striking. You can never completely give up on a future HOF player but Peyton has been the player I was most wrong about so far this year. In second place is Ameer Abdullah. The Lions entire coaching staff is complete garbage and deserves most of the blame. Maybe they find a way to win vs. CHI this week but Caldwell is the worst HC in the league right now by far. He should have benched himself instead of Stafford and AA last week.

Delanie Walker.

Guy has skills, is on an offense that can use his ability, and has proven he can add value.

But he's been dinged up and missed too much time, and with a plethora of other breakout TEs (Barnidge) and guys at the lower end who have put up as much if not more as Walker (Fells, Donnell, Ertz, etc.) it's just getting too hard to wait for Walker's potential as opposed to getting some reliable points at the position.

I have Evans and Dez, and honestly Dez is giving me less heartburn. At least I know I have to sit him. Evans I'm compelled to trot him out there for his inevitable 3/51/0 games.

Bailed on spiller in a dynasty league today. I used him as a throw-in on a deal for blount.
Love the play in ot to win though- looked like he was back in Clemson form. Maybe saints can win again if they get him the ball more often.
There was a game between that play and now, and Spiller was barely used AGAIN. He's nothing more than a high upside swing-for-the-fences player to use when you are projected to lose by a lot.

I mean this in a nice way, but this is why watching games is important. From watching the end of last season and preseason this year, it was obvious that Peyton's game had declined significantly, and given his age, expecting a bounce back to the years of the past on a regular basis simply was not realistic. Sure, he can still have the occasional flash, like the 2nd half of the KC game or some of those throws against the Lions, but he has been caught and defeated by Father Time, who is still undefeated.

I bailed on Hill, Evans and Cooks last Saturday night.

I took back Ingram, BMarsh, and JMatt.

I'd like to think I won the trade, but who the hell knows?

I panicked and threw away Matt Stafford. Maybe he becomes worth something down the road, but I can't wait to find out with bye week issues.

Dynasty 12 team .75ppr cut bait on Latimer to pick up Marquess Wilson. Feels good, every blurb on Latimer has been extremely negative and I'm not waiting around for the Osweiler years

I'm about to that point with Latimer as well. But we have deep rosters so it isn't killing me to hold.

Funny thing is that I don't recall even a tweet about trouble learning a playbook or anything like that before the draft. Sure, there are always questions about whether a guy will grow out of rawness or how his physicality will translate. But you'd think that numbskulls who can't learn a play book would kinda get found out and be a known risk going into the draft.

In the last two days I have traded Lacy and Lynch. And I feel like my team has gotten better. Would have never of thought that three weeks ago.

If you don't normally feel like your team got better after a trade, then you're doing it wrong ;)

Ameer Abdullah (broke it down in his thread on here) but TLDR version is talent doesn't amount to anything if the overall team cannot resolve foundational issues and there's no commitment to any player.

I think you gave away the three best players in the deal
lol no he got the three best players. Ingram > hill, marshall > evans, matthews > cooks
dynasty? not even close IMO. this year, sure.
I read that post, and have no clue what sounds worse.. Three 1st rnd picks squandered on the trade Or The trade itself

On an irrelevant side note.. Ingram has spent time on the wire in my League (not that it changes the value of the trade)

I really dont mean to sidetrack the post, but isnt it almost time to Sell high on Marshall.

Personally I hold Studs until it makes no sense

I'm thinking of dropping Hillman and/or Anderson for whatever flavor of the week I can find. Not even sure why I held onto them for this long. Has anyone else sent either of them to the waiver wire already?

What kind of league are you playing in that Ingram has been on the wire? In PPR leagues, he's been a top 10 back so far. Even in standard, he's probably in the top 15-20. Why in the world would he not be rostered?

(Former) Anderson owner in multiple leagues -- I dropped him after week 4 and he hasn't been picked up in either league (10-team, shallow benches). Drop him if you need someone for this week. Even if a Bronco RB performs well this week, they're on bye next week so you should be able to re-acquire them without much competition.

In a 12 team redraft non PPR (but bonus for long TD's over 40 yards) (I rarely if ever panic in dynasty) I am still holding Ameer and this week I have the bye for Evans.

I viewed Ameer (when I drafted him) this year as a potentially great flex player with upside to RB2 and it has been a disaster since week 2. I am in first place and doing fine....but I have a short bench and need to make a QB and TE pick up for Rodgers and Eifert next week. So here is the players I have on notice:

Antonio Andrews

Ameer Abdullah

Leonard Hankerson

Tavon Austin

Kendall Wright

2 of those players will have to be cut to pick up a bye week TE and QB.

After this weekends games I hope to able to firmly believe who I should cut bait on for the bye week quandary I have the following week.
