I think this has been on my list for the last 20 years or so. I'm pretty sure I started making fun of it to my wife when we watched early seasons of Survivor. Still to this day, every time I hear some random question or answer refer to a person's journey, I mumble under my breath, "Journey..." and roll my eyes.

Not just because it’s an example of unnecessarily truncating a perfectly good word, a la “sus”, “deets”, “sitch”, etc., but also it suggests a movement away from eating food, as opposed to a bunch of macronutrients, aka “macros”. In the process, perfectly good carbohydrates are lumped in with ultraprocessed crap, and all sorts of less healthy junk is substituted, solely by virtue of high protein content.

Both the term and nearly all pop nutrition should be retired, imo.

I'd like to make a special plea that comics, specifically late night talk show hosts, cease and desist with the "seen here" jokes whereby a picture is shown and a "seen here" joke is made. For example, they might show a picture of Mitch McConnell smiling and then say "Seen here watching a homeless man's lottery ticket blow away"

It's run its course. Sure, 1 in 100 might still land, but the 99 that suck are retroactively ruining the time when the bit was fresh and funny.

my wife's grandmother wears this phrase out. Anytime you tell her something that's even 1 degree above mundane, this is her auto-response. If it's something that would normally elicit a "wow" or "no way" type of response she throws out a "*gasp* you don't mean it!"

Heard this gem about 5-6 times over the past week so it definitely wasn't just some one-off.
