Has their ever been a more beautiful rock album ever produced? I was first introduced to this masterpiece while living in London in 1988, and 33 years later it still hits me just as hard. The lyrics, the melodies, the story lines... simply brilliant.

Wanna get blown away...watch David Gilmour Live at Pompeii 2016. Entire show is mesmerizing. But his solo on "Comfortably Numb" is the best solo I've ever seen and heard. The old man shreds, and I shed tears the first time I watched and heard it.
I love The Final Cut but I think it had more to do with its timing when it was released than anything else. I was 18, just out of high school and my parents moved to Texas and I stayed in NY at my first apartment. Just one of those albums that struck a chord at the time with so many emotions about my new life.
The Final Cut is a lyrics-first album rather than a music-first album. It's sonically beautiful. The production is amazing, but the tunes are just not quite there musically. There are some great Gilmour solos, but the tunes are secondary to the lyrics. It's a Waters album for the most part.
I massively love Floyd. But this album doesn’t cut it lyrically. First it should have been a waters solo album. Second it feels like leftovers from stuff that didn’t make the other albums.
