The Vikings will reportedly sign Todd Pinkston this weekend.Pinkston is expected to receive a one-year contract for the league minimum. Minnesota will likely rely on Travis Taylor, Jermaine Wiggins, and Jimmy Kleinsasser to catch passes over the middle. Sep. 1 - 7:11 pm etSource: ProFootballTalk.com

From ESPN:

Five-year veteran wide receiver Todd Pinkston, released Wednesday by the Philadelphia Eagles, on Friday evening reached an agreement in principle with the Minnesota Vikings on a one-year contract. The deal was to be signed later Friday night.
This has to make all WRs in Minny no more than WR5s at this point IMO. Wiggins is only one with upside I think.

Williamson, barring injury, will put up 1,000 yards and 8 TDs. Write it down.

Really? Not arguing, but really? That is a lot for a guy who is as raw as he is. Just from what I've seen he reminds me of Tyrone Calico. Not very good at routes and uses his basketball body to go get balls. I think with a guy like BJ at QB he'll rely on guys that run routes well. I'm not sure who that is in Minny, but it might be Marcus Robinson. But maybe Williamson busts out like you say... don't know, but right now I don't want any of them on my teams.

Heck what about Charlie Rogers? If he's cut I don't know, but dang he was a 1st rounder at one point. Worth a shot for league minimum.

Wiggins was just cut in my deep 14-team PPR. Given the sorry state of the Vikings WRs, it wouldn't shock me to see him as their leading receiver.

It's already happened the past two seasons!

Who else is going to catch the ball really? They say Williamson is not the deap threat that Tice tried to make him but rather a great short ball / YAC receiver. That talent should fit really well with the WCO. OK, so maybe 1,000 is a bit homerific, but I'm sure hoping he's closer to 1,000 than to say 500.

I starting to suspect that Childress is a double agent and still working for the Eagles. Other than sabotage, I can’t explain why he continues to bring in all these Philly cast offs.

Williamson has gotten a lot better with his cuts and breaks than you give him credit for. I think his main weakness is still getting off the jam. With a clean release he gets good seperation and I expect BJ to target Williamson more than any other WR with the Vikings by quite a bit. Him and Wiggins will be very busy. Not sure where you get the Calico comparison. Williamson is healthy. Pinkston is experienced depth for the Vikings and when healthy may get a role in the offense. For vet minimum and 1 year I don't see this as a bad move for the Vikings at all.

Williamson has the chance to be really great in the WCO. With his speed you might see a lot of short slants going to the house. I'd be disappointed if he didn't break 1,000 yards.

I sure hope J.B. doesn't make fun of the Vikings for signing 'Gator in his daily e-mail tomorrow.

I don't think I really like any WR on the Vikings. Not enough to draft at their current ADP anyway.

I woulod be truly surprised if Williamson had 1,000+ yards this year. I think the yards will be split all over the place and they just don't throw enough for me to think Williamson overachieves.

Prepare to be suprised then.

If healthy, I think Pinkston could be an ok "down the field" threat. That is his only strength and really isn't a strength of any of the WRs that the Vikings have right now. Williamson has speed but doesn't adjust to the deep ball well (at least didn't last year), and Taylor is an over the middle guy as well. I don't see downside to this deal as long as they gave him the minimum.

I agree.Williamson will be the primary Wr with the other 3 being role players.Pinkston going deep.Marcus Robinson getting red zone jump balls.Travis Taylor getting intermediate routes.

I'd prefer Rogers to Stinkston, but the Vikes aren't getting burned again (even if Rogers comes at no risk).
