PIT's LB vs. ATL's running game (1 Viewer)

with harrison doubtful and porter questionable, what do people think of PIT containing the #1 rushing tandem in Vick and Dunn (912 yards combined in 5 games = 182 yards/game average).

PIT is at home; they were able to shut down LJ (although some of that had to do with huard's ineptness and KC getting behind early); and, how can you respect the ATL WRs?!?!!?

ATL comes off a game they thought they could win, losing a 3rd quarter lead; their WRs have a very bad case of the dropsies; you contain vick, you win.

i see ATL struggling big time in week 7, lucky to score one TD. vick's numbers will be pedestrian and dunn will be mediocre (50-60 yards rushing) despite the injury woes to PITs LBs.

Why the use of so many semicolons? Back on subject...I think the Steelers will probably struggle more against the run this week more than any other week so far. Vick is such a weapon and I think he'll be able to throw the steelers off a little. I don't see Dunn getting much and I don't think Atl will be able to throw the ball. If the Steelers play the way they did last week on offense, they should win this game comfortably.

I would be surprised if Atlanta is able to move the ball well at all on Sunday. Then again, I wouldn't have given AZ even a remote chance of being in that game last night.

That's why they play the games.

With KC unwilling/unable to pass the ball, Polamalu was left to get up in the box and stuff the run. As long as the Pitt corners can cover the wideouts with minimal help, Polamalu should be able to help with the run again. Losing Porter is never a good thing, but I think Pitt makes things very difficult for Vick and Co as well. As far as fantasy production goes though, I don't think the Pitt D scores well this week. Fewer chances at sacks and picks. I'm thinking I am going with the Lions against the Jets this week.

I don't see any D shutting down Atlanta's run game.

I think the only way to shut down Atlanta's running game, is for the offense to get out to around a 2 TD lead. That's the only way Atlanta's run game has been stopped to date.

I thought they were playing in ATL?I like Vick actually throwing a little bit more this weekend.

The Steelers play in Atlanta this week.

As I said last week, Porter is more critical to the passing defense than he is to the rushing defense. Last week Arnold Harrison played just fine.

I think the Steelers will be able to contain Dunn -- they did a pretty good job against LT2 and LJ. Vick could give them fits but the Steelers are a pretty disciplined unit. Should be an interesting game...

I think Polamalu will have a big role in shadowing Vick all day, which shouldnt be a problem with Troy's speed (4.37). Dunn worries me more than Vick does.

Vick's speed ~ 4.16Falcons fan here, but I'm leaning Pittsburgh. I think they'll continue what they did vs KC, and Atlanta can't play catch up. Runningwise, I'm thinking a very average game for Dunn. 20-80-1.ETA- from nfl.com/statsDefensePittsburgh 5 123 24.6 392 3.2 78.4 3 19 2That's 3.2yds/rush avg, 78.4yds given up per game, 3 TDs allowed
