Play your Colts - Does this mean Rhodes too? (1 Viewer)

The Colts should have a very good offensive day tomorrow (if they don't lay down). It's obvious that Manning, Harrison and Wayne are must starts, but what about Rhodes?

I can see him coming back from a mediocre performance last week putting up resepctable numbers. If the Colts jump out early, they could turn to Rhodes to salt the victory away.

What say you?

I know I'm in the minority here, but I can't name 10 RB's I'd rather start than him this week. At the very least, I see 70 yds rushing w/ a score. Most of it may be in garbage time, but so what?

"Ditto."

If you don't start him this week, you're not going to start him at all until the current timeshare with Addai is resolved. It's the Texans! Play 'em all.

Agreed. Hoping they sort things out. Very ugly time share last week. Rhodes is the goaline back so I would start him over addai right now. Hopefully one can look better then the other so things can become more clear.

Gosh darnit guys! I finally made my decision to start Foster over Maroney as my RB2. Then I get to looking at my bench and realise that I got Rhodes against the Texans. He's been an afterthought because of the RBBC. Now I gotta open that web page back up and put Rhodes in there.

So you're in my boat. Why did you choose Dom? Better Minny D? Awful Carolina week 1 outing? Both???

Have Foster, Rhodes, Addai and Maroney myself. Going with Foster, but it is getting to be a log jam.

Rhodes is the goaline back
Check the game log. Both backs got shots at the goal.
Agreed. Impossible to say right now. Could be like bell and anderson last year, whoever was in got the goalines. Rhodes was kind of like the goaline back last year with edge. Edge would pull himself and Rhodes would come in the red zone (at times). Very frustating for an edge owner last year. I have the ticket so I watch all the games. The indy running back situation is probably the hardest to figure out, last year and this year.

I'm thinking if they get up on the Texans, they'll give Addai every chance to take the job. Just a gut feeling. I also have Rhodes and Addai. I'm starting Foster and Kevin Jones ahead of them until one solidifies the position.

This is my fear. Rhodes does nothing cuz of Peyton and Addai gets clean up time.

Honestly, I haven't 100% made my choice. If Steve Smith was playing for Carolina then the choice would be easy. Minny D > Texan D so leaning towards Dominick. But on the other hand Carolina is going to be looking to bounce back after a poor week 1 outing and Foster is likely to get more carries than Rhodes. That is assuming Carolina is not ready to start giving some of Fosters carries to Williams. So Fosters carries > Rhodes carries. Leaning towards Foster when I look at it from this angle. Fok, I sound like Shanahan. It looks like it's going to come down to a game time deciosion for me.

I have the same question. It is either start Rhodes or Addai or go 4 wide with Mason .
Yeah, I didn't even open up that can of worms. I could go 3 wide with Driver, Holt, and Harrison leaving all those RB's in my previous posts on the bench. Maybe I should go to the AC and ask all the rooks what I should do. :sarcasm: That was just my way of appologizing because my posts are getting dangerously close to AC forum material.

I hear yah. Our league has been together for 11 years and we want to mix things up (went to 3 wr 5 years ago) and we are thinking about allowing run and shoot. (1 rb 4 wr). I don't want to have to make those decisions next year. :)

I have a suggestion.

Everyone who is thinking of sitting Rhodes -- go ahead and do so.

This way, we all :hifive: together or we all  together.

WHO'S WITH ME?!?!?!

I'm starting Foster.
Man, you guys have me thinking tonight. My biggest decision was plummer-vick. Now I know Rhodes will have a jacobs/bettis like day of 40 yards rushing, two tds. Have to go with foster because Mr. Dodds told me so.

Atta boy!I'm also playing against Harrison, so if Rhodes goes off, that means they are way ahead and are not throwing the ball. Of course, it could also mean that they got way ahead on 3 TD passes to Marv.

You make it tempting. Because of this post, I have given Foster 1 more point. It is now 51% That I start Foster and 49% that I start Rhodes. I reserve the right to change my mind up until kickoff. Now, if I didn't have to dislike you out of principle for being a Raider fan, (I'm a Bronco homer) Then it would be 52%-48% to Foster. Sorry, Had to get the Raider dig in there. It was just me :hophead:

If I go with Foster, I'll let you know. Here's a preliminary :hifive:

We have a husband/wife team in our league. They are starting five Colts players. We start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, and 1 DEF

Manning

Rhodes

Wayne

Clark

Colts

He's 1-0...so this strategy of drafting all Colts seem to be working (for now). The SOB beat me last week...but I started Aaron Brooks (0 pts) over Jake Delhomme (-2 pts).

I need another of those 3-sided coins......Rhodes, T Jones, Droughns. I have Jones in for now, but Rhodes is very intriguing. According to FBG he is the better start by about 0.3 points over Jones.......but that 16 carries for 29 yds (or whatever it was) last week does not give me much confidence.

I'm starting Rhodes with confidence. I just hope Addai doesn't steal the show.
Some great confidence there. I have to decided between Rhodes and Duece. I just think Duece will get more looks, and Addai will get those second half points because of the blow out. Decisions....Decisions.

Well, I have Foster also and I've decided to start Rhodes. I figure if the Colts get ahead early, they give Rhodes the ball as I really think they want to give him a shot this year and this would boost his confidence. Plus, the Colts will want other teams to see that they will/can run enough to keep teams guessing at least a little. If it were later in the year and he hadn't done anything, then I think it would be Addai getting the experience, looking to next year's starter with Rhodes either taking a back seat (as he patiently did in the past) or leaving. Rhodes has experience with the team, but I think management wants to get him more comfortable running with the starters, being somewhat 'loyal' to him. That way, if he proves a decent starter he starts, and if he doesn't he is not upset at not getting his shot.

Rhodes is such a difficult call this week. I've been debating plugging him in for Cadillac, considering Cadillac's health, two missing guards, and tough matchup. I could just as easily see Addai having a monster game and getting the bulk of the work, and this has me nervous.

Then again, it is the Texans, and Rhodes is the starter.

Rhodes touched the ball 19 times last week compared to Addai's 10. Can we expect the same 2:1 ratio from Rhodes since he is the starter or will it be 2:1 in Addai's favor with Indy wanting to get a long look at their #1 draft pick in the second half with a big lead?

With Addai looking better than Rhodes last week, it would be wise to sit both of them untill this is sorted out. My gut even says the Colts will give Addai extra work in these "favorable" conditions. Give the kid a chance to prove he should be the starter. If I were smart, I'd start Thomas Jones. Fortunately for my opponent this week I'm not, so I'll be going with Rhodes and Westy over Thomas Jones, Lamont Jordan and Addai. (YeS i RiDe ThE sHoRt BuS) :football:

Ahhhhh, screw it. Me too.Minnesota's D-line is far superior to Houston's. Carolina's O-line is a total mess. Indy will have the lead all day, and I expect Minnesota to lead for most of the game, perhaps taking Foster out of the equation. But mostly, it's just a gut feeling.

Which will probably be wrong, of course. :wall:

Let's hope we can meet back here around 4 and do this: :hifive:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but haven't the Colts struggled with Houston in the past, even if they do win? I can't remember the past scores, but I think most of them have been low scoring and close and I know they have struggled with Houston at home.

Edited to say that I have confidence in Manning, Wayne, and Harrison today, but not for either Rhodes or Addai.

If Rhodes gets 19 touches this week he's a solid #2 starter. Not much yardage last week but he scored,Addai was given some goaline love but didn't get it done. Rhodes will get goaline chances today and given the opponent he'll get more yardage. 80 and a score is not out of the question, add a couple catches in a ppr league and he's a solid start.

Last year Colts won both games,38-20 at Houston and 31-17 at home. Maybe they struggled early, but 69 points in 2 games isn't too bad. And Dundy is 8-0 all time versus Texans.

You are right, and like I said, I couldn't remember. Having said that, I do remember a low scoring game against Houston in the past. Maybe 2 years ago (not important enough to look it up), but thanks for correcting me.

Yes Chuck that's correct. And I remember from about 3 years ago when 1 notable FF site said to bench Harrison against the Texans. Sure enough, Harrison came up lame. Although a new coaching staff and new players scare me less about the Texans this time.
