Player Spotlight Contest Winners... (1 Viewer)

Jason Wood

Zoo York
Gents and ladies, let me first thank everyone who participated in the Week 10 Spotlight Contest and apologize for the delay in announcing the winner. I have no other excuse than to say that we just got done our crazy busy season and then I was off the grid for nearly two weeks on a much needed vacation. The truth is I and the rest of the staff simply didn't want to half ### our evaluation of this contest as that would've been an affront to all the excellent work that went into making the contest and, frankly, the entire preseason Spotlight series, such a resounding success.

Before I announce the winners, let me say (at the risk of being cliché) that this was a very tough decision as many MANY people were worthy of prize consideration. But rules are rules and ultimately we had to winnow it down to three winners per the rules.

As a refresher:

The Prizes

1) Best Overall Contributor -- The person with the best overall contribution will receive a 3-year subscription to Footballguys. To win this award, it's about a combination of quantity and quality. We want to see excellent analysis in multiple threads. You don't have to contribute to each and every thread, but if you only have time for a couple of posts, this award probably isn't for you.

2) Best Singular Analysis -- The person with the best single Spotlight will receive their choice of a 2006 FBG subscription, a 2007 FBG Subscription, or a Footballguys Hat and T-Shirt. This award will be the most competitive as anyone with even one spotlight profile in any of the Week Ten spotlights is eligible. Think you've got a world-class analysis of Carson Palmer but are too busy to contribute otherwise, you could easily win this award.

3) Best Rebuttal Contributor -- The Spotlights are primarily known as a place where people write up their views on a player and submit their projections. But some of the best threads are those that foster debate and back-and-forth analysis. For that reason, we're giving another prize to the contributor we feel did the best job of defending their position(s) after the initial writeup. This could be one spirited retort in one Week Ten thread, or it could be solid follow-on analysis in a host of threads. The winner will receive their choice of a 2006 FBG Subscription, 2007 FBG Subscription, or a Footballguys Hat and T-Shirt.

Best of luck everyone, and ENJOY!
Without further ado...here are the winners in each categoryCategory: Best Singular Post

Winner: KEG for his work in the Rudi Johnson Spotlight

Category: Best Rebuttal

Winner: nshelat1 for his work in the Bush/McAllister Spotlight

...and finally, the winner of the grand prize, Category: Best Overall Contributor. This person REALLY distinguished themselves as they contributed solid, coherent and concise analysis in virtually every thread that week (20+ entries); and did so with courtesy to his fellow contributors. Really excellent work and deserving of this title:

Musesboy...rather than highlight any singular post I would simply invite anyone to the Week 10 Spotlight main page and simply peruse randomly through a handful if you haven't already. It would be difficult to not notice the contribution and presence of Musesboy.

To the three winners, drop me an email with your preferred prize and the best way to contact you at wood@footballguys.com and we will get those squared away ASAP.

Congrats again and thanks to everyone else for yet another fantastic Player Spotlight Series.

I thought Canadians weren't eligible to win this  :P Congrats Museboy..
Hehe, I am actually English but living in Toronto :D Thanks to everybody for the props. I thought that so many people did good work and it should be recognized. It really pepped up a quiet time and got some good discussion going.I thought I would be locked up for my Losman post

thanks and fwiw you have to love numbers cause they dont lie(but at times you can make them say what you want ;) ) sometimes i stat things to death and occasionally have to remind myself that actual people play the game :o

now I know why i was shocked that I won. I submitted my post on rudi on July 27th and the deadline was the 19th but I still wanted to add my POV on Rudi for people.I sent Jason a PM letting him know that my post on rudi was done after the deadline(if the deadline was exteneded I wasnt aware of that). I do remember seeing that the deadline had passed prior to me adding my write up to Rudi's PSL but like I said I wanted to share the research and analysis that I had done on Rudi.I just dont want to take a prize that isnt really rightfully mine.

Jason,

Would it be possible to convert my prize into three one-year subscriptions for this year so that I could gift them to my friends?

Steve

pretty darn nice of you
 I have made a lot of friends through FF and I know how obsessed some of them are. It seems like the perfect gift
GOTYGuy of the Year.
I'd vote for him. :thumbup:J
I have three people in mind if this is acceptable to you? It seems like a good way to promote the site. I am already coming back for life, so it would be good to add three new subscribers. If so, how would I go about it? Steve
