Playoffs in Fantasy Land (1 Viewer)

Our fantasy league has a terrific Playoffs that start with the first week in Playoffs, does anyone else do this?

We use the same format as our regular season, but with a few twists. We pick 17 players and start them all. 3 QB's, 4 RB's, 4 WR's, 2 TE's, 2 K's, and 2 D. We are a TD heavy league and bonus points for long TD's.

The key to winning the money ($2,000 from 10 ten teams, 3rd place gets their money back and first and second go 2/3 and 1/3) is to pick the participating teams in the Superbowl, coupled with a strong offense.

One last twist is that we take the total teams and divide into two leagues but we all score against each other. So 1-5 draft in Pool A, then teams 1-5 draft in Pool B. You won't have teams anywhere near each other in player personnel because of overall # of players.

So, if you are not ready yet to wait for next year, you should try it.

We also have side bets, like $5 per week.

Swamp

Swamp. the problem with your format is that after the second week, half or more of the owners are done and there's a good chance the winner is pretty much determined before the Big Game.

An alternative format gives most owners a chance to win right through the last minute of the Super Bowl. Four weeks of entertainment value. First recall, 8 NFL teams participate in the first and second weeks, 4 NFL teams in week three and 2 teams in week four, the Big Game.

Owners would pick a NEW 8 player lineup (or use 1-2 flex) each week over the entire 4 weeks of the NFL playoffs. Constraints are: An owner cannot use a player more than once over the 4 weeks. The same player can be used by different owners, so as an example all owners could use Manning in week 2, but then Manning would be done for all owners. For the first two weeks, an owner will use 1 player for each NFL team playing that week. For week 3, two players for each team NFL playing that week and for the Big Game, 4 players per team.

Additionally, each owner has an opportunity to get weekly bonus pts (perhaps 25-40pts total each week) in a pick the winners format and closest to the combined score (or over/under).

You can see this format keeps most involved each week and the excitement going to the very last minute of the Super Bowl.

Would anyone be interested to join our group in this format?

Shoot me an email and I will set it up and send a link.

I set up a playoff league every year. There are 12 teams in the NFL playoffs, so u have to pick ONLY ONE player from each team. 2qb/3rb/4wr/1te/1k/1def.

No trades, no waivers, so it is possible for two teams to have same roster, but hasn't happened yet. Once a team is out of the playoffs, say Indy, everyone loses their Indy player. Last year, the top teams in the league had Fitz since he was amazing in the playoffs.

Pretty fun and gives everyone a chance to win.

We have run a playoff game for the last five years. Scoring is identical to our regular season.

Lineups -

2 QB

4 RB

6 WR/TE

2 K

4 DL

5 LB

5 DB

All players play, points from player sin the SuperBowl are doubled for that game.

Everyone can draft anyone they want to field their 28 man roster. Once a plyer is eliminated you can't get a replacement (even for injuries). Enter as many times as you would like. Some people have 4-5 entries. We have never had a repeat winner.

I am sick of running it, so I hope someone else steps up this year. Goof way to pass time until Roto baseball drafts start.
