Hey Folks,

Just a request. Please be extra cool to each other and limit the snark / condescension / slaps.

I know everyone is stressed but we're going to try and keep the board as much on the rails as we can. The moderators won't have time to give warnings.

If you think what you've written might be seen as snarky or condescending or slapping back, please don't post it.

We want to use these forums to help each other here. Thanks.

100% We all want to help each other.

Very select few are actually agenda driven people who act like tools and then a few people at times let their emotions get the best of them for a minute and may cross a line.

Would mods be understandable that jokes or joking sarcasm sometimes even in a non serious exchange or even non serious thread are not meant to harm but some actually use for good and is very helpful for us to deal and cope in our own individual ways?

We all have a lot to offer one another and support is found in many different forms for many different people.

Give me the wallet that says Bad...
In hindsight, the fact that Forest Gump won Best Picture that year should have been the first sign that the simulation was glitching.  It seemed like such a minor hiccup at the time, but these things tend to snowball, and here we are 25 years later with President Trump, the coronavirus, and six New England super bowl wins.

The Coronavirus isn’t as bad as these other things.

Color me late to the game and partly responsible for the sad state of affairs the last 25 years has seen. See, I'd read Forrest Gump as a youth (it was a really bawdy young adult novel about an autistic savant by Winston Groom, who made the tragic mistake of selling the rights to his book for a percentage of the net income derived from the movie. Whoops. Check the ledger's losses, bub.) and couldn't hate the movie. Shawshank and Pulp easily were better, more memorable movies in retrospect. Andy Dufrense would be happy to know that Shawshank, IMHO, holds up the best out of all of them, with The Professional close behind.

So I think by not cutting Gump off at the pass at my every turn, actively liking the movie, and humming Sloop John B to the Americana soundtrack, I'm partly responsible.

We cool?

Yeah, we cool.

* Name the movie (This is an easy one)

We're gonna be like three little Fonzies here. And what's Fonzie like? Come on Yolanda what's Fonzie like?

I use this one on my kids and their friends all the time.  In the car, "Do you guys know who Fonzie is?" [son rolls his eyes]  "Fonzie is cool, and that's what we're going to be during this drive to soccer practice.  We're going to be cool like Fonzie.  We're going to be like three little Fonzies in here."

it's impossible, @Joe Bryant

as a non american, it's just too evident that topics cannot derail from political discussion here. it seems engrained.

(eta: i dont even mean this negatively. just canadians are generally/comparitvely non political. In fact, most cdns discuss american politics day to day)
