Pokemon Go (2 Viewers)

My daughter gets me watching a lot of the YouTube Pokemon people like Mystic7 and Trader Tips and those guys have 10 million stardust.. How the heck do you get that much?
You have more maxed out Pokemon than you need for battles and don't bother powering things up anymore but you keep playing / catching.

I'm over 3MM right now and was well over 4MM at one point but haven't been playing / catching much anymore.

I have to tell you those Team Rocket PokéStops that have the Snorlax Snorlax Dragonite setup can really be a pain to take down

I've been getting more into this lately as the park I walk through daily has a couple of reliably Mystic gyms to put monz in.  Still not really into the whole raid thing.  My code is 7503-5768-2649

I realIzed I have a 1* shiny Pokémon. What do I do with that? He’s pretty lame TBH
If it is big, you can save it for a Lucky Trade. Otherwise, many save all their shiny but I've started dumping them as long as save a couple of each.

I'll save a cruddy shiny Machop/champ, Kyogre or Groudon or TTAR for a lucky trade.

So I got my first 1,000+ Pokemon, but it doesn't appraise as a 3*. Worth keeping?
Not for long.

For stuff that is actually used for fighting, I only keep ones with Attack stat of 14 or 15, and of course 3-star.

For others less useful, feel free to just keep your biggest one. Or best. Or both for a while - they are just for you to look at.

Im pissed. I ran into a really cool flying Pokemon with 950 CP. I threw 8 ultra balls at it and it spooked. Is there something im doing wrong? I really wanted that Pokemon.
LOL. Sorry. It happens. Of course, curveballs are much higher catch rate. Razzberry if you really want it or Golden Razz if you really, really want it will help.

Yeah I’m at the point there I may not bother even trying. I hit one on the way home and a SINGLE skyther killed my Pincer, Machamp and Gyrados.

Dumb.

Yeah the shadows just don't follow the norm how you would usually go after them.

I mean I have 3600 cp mons that were just getting crushed over and over again. The usual fighting style guys I would run out against a Snorlax were just ineffective.

Looking at the suggested counters, a lot of players are not going to have the answers for these stops. I mean Tyranitar is a given and maybe a lot have Weaville, but I don't have Dialga, Heatran or a Giratina yet. Others suggestions are Melmetal, Regirock or Lugia, which are rarer Pokemons for sure. .

Ugh, found a shiny, 1955cp Snorlax today. Throw a golden berry at it than hit it with a 'Nice' ultra ball curve. Freakin thing busts out and runs away. Not a happy camper. 😡

Are people working on the 1,000 Year Slumber Research?  I should be evolving my Feebas tomorrow (requires 20km as my buddy) and be done with Step 2.  Step 4 is going to require catching 50 Psychic or Steel types. Step 5 includes 7 wins against another Trainer.  I've joined a local Discord group and have done some trades and group raids, but would prefer to do these PVPs from the comfort of my couch while watching TV with a beverage.  Battling remotely requires Ultra or Best Friend status.

Anyone interested in coordinating battles to complete this task?  I understand that these wins can be obtained against a single trainer.  We can take the approach of swapping wins, taking turns to get the wins. I'm at least Ultra with at least 11 of you all and within 3-7 days with 3-5 of you.  I would be more than willing to battle anyone that wants to take this approach.

Oh, I drove into DC last Saturday and wandered around the Convention Center, host for the World Pokemon Championships, to chase 7 Relicanths (a regional from New Zealand and the South Pacific).  They were the reward for a send gifts to 2 friends task close to the site of the Championship and a pretty huge area all arouind DC.  It was hot as #### and I was hampered by a strained hamstring, so I was only on site for about 90 minutes deleting ten times as many catch ten pokemon tasks while stacking the gifts task.  I inadvertently deleted  an eighth gift task while getting rid of the more prevalent ones.  I believe I sent my single Pokemon Championship "postcard" to either Bender or seat sniffer.

Again, I'll battle anyone that needs help in completing this task.  I'm sporkalope!

I already friends with most of you in here, looks like I am going to have to go find some random people to complete this new task  :( .

I am going to Comic Con today so I am sure there will be some likely suspects around. My daughter wanted me to dress up in a Pikachu onesie and go as Fat Pikachu, but it is not going to happen.  I am taking her and her friends to this thing so it should be interesting. I am putting the o/u on the number of slutty Harley Quinn costumes at 20.

I still haven’t attacked a gym, or done a raid. How do they work?
Gym battles are pretty straight forward and basically just button mashing affairs. If it is a gym of another team, just get close to it, click on it and you will be presented with two choices on the lower right hand corner--either spin it or battle it.  Once you click on battle, it is just a matter of beating all the mons that are in there. It is not hard. Even big gyms with high powered guys you can beat, it just may take a bit. I know I am not the norm in this, but I always click on the mon and see how long they have been in there. If it was just taken down recently and occupied by the new team, I won't battle just out of courtesy so they can get their coins. If they have been in there awhile, then they are basically hoping someone comes along and takes it down. Once you defeat them all, you put one of your mons in there and your team now controls it and you earn coins to purchase stuff in the store the longer you hold the gym.

Raids are another story. You need to look at the gym level and what you are fighting. I feel fairly confident taking on (most) three star guys alone, but anything above that you need some others to be in there with you. You need a raid pass, which you get one a day. So you approach the stop that has a raid, spin it, you will get a raid pass (if you don't have one stored up) and you can battle. Once you know what you are fighting, you try and come up with your most effective team of six to fight. If you win, you get rewards and then you go to the bonus catch round and if you can catch the mon, ,you get it.  Some are boring 1 star easy and some you need a group of strong players to help you with.

(non Pokémon stuff) As an update: Comic Con was a blast. It was my first one and I have to say I am hooked. We had already bought our tickets and apparently we were supposed to go to this big line upstairs. We went to the "purchase VIP tickets" line by accident and the lady was like I am not supposed to let you in, but I will. Turns out the line upstairs was taking almost 90 minutes to get through due to the tight security (yeah people, you can't bring in real guns or real swords as part of your attire). The place was packed and everyone was beyond friendly. Was standing in some area while my daughter looked at artwork and here comes William Shatner like inches walking behind me. So many great costumes. Talked to a bunch of great people--including Derek RIggs (the artist who created Eddie, who is on all the Iron Maiden albums). Tons of Pokémon merchandise. Just a great time!!

I used to go to the Philly comic con every year with my sons. We met a ton of celebrities,  but the best was when we ran into Stan Lee on his way to a signing. Dude could not have been nicer. Spoke to my sons for a good 10 minutes and was as cordial as could be.

For guys that need friend codes, you can also just look them up online.  I added some from places like Tokyo and Australia.  The added benefit is when you get an egg from them and hatch it, it's catch location will still be Tokyo or Australia.  Then you can get 10,000 km toward the trading distance medal in one shot when you trade it.

Good job Niantic!!! Let's have a challenge to get 100 Feebas candies, yet there are no Feebas to be found in the wild. I mean I have not seen one. I don't know how I am going to complete this task other than just do raids and get rare candy. I can see a lot of you have them as your buddies so maybe you are feeling the pain like I am.

I have enough candies, but I have to walk one to be able to evolve, I always keep at least 400 candy for the magikarp and the bird thing in case its ever a task.

I have seen 2 feebas during the event, however Im not looking too hard, as we get no bonus for xp or stardust

I hatched a bunch, had over 600 candies before the evol was required but I was playing since the beginning.  We were off of Pokemon for about 6 months and then my 11 yo's friends started playing and now they keep begging me to drive them all to the good Pokemon park to go hunting during events.  We were just out again today for Azelf. My son makes me show them stuff on my account to "Pokeflex" on the noobs.  😆  Kids were riled up about getting to 400 candies for a Gyarados... "My dad has 2 perfect Gyarados, 3 perfect Magikarps, and over 3,000 candies."  I need to get a life.  Well, a job, then a life.

If I hatch an egg from A European friend, can it be a region specific Pokémon like a Mime?

Terrific question for Google. No, region locked Pokemon  can only be hatched in areas of the world where they are also catchable..per Hanke.  Now my beef; I work in Georgeown, Washington DC real close to the Potomac River.  I've encountered 2,362 Magikarp.  I've seen and caught one shiny!

How's eveyone doing on the 1,000 Year research task? I'm on #22 of catching 50 steel or psychic type mons Seems like Slowpoke and Natu have been the only psychis I've encountered since the water event started. Aron for steel.

It’s been slow going for me as well. I’m on #15 mainly by catching Slowpokes.

Once the water event ended Thur afternoon,  I think I had 20 psychic/steel catches left.  Caught the majority remaining from my couch with 4 remaining prior to a walk Sunday morning.
