finally completed the Meltan task today...now 400 candies for the evolution? wow....so how do you link that Nintendo switch game to your id in pokemon go? that's the best way to get the candy right?

Seriously - 400??  Damn.  I’ve actually seen the evolution in a gym - dude was only level 26 or something.

Only way to get wild spawns is to transfer a mon to a Switch account. You receive a special incense in return that spawns meltan for 30 minutes. You can only do it once a week, so it's a grind.

My son just did the Meltan evolution last night.  We have the game on the Switch but I just haven't had the patience to sit around and play it to the point where you can start trading with your Go account.  I played for about 10 mins and got bored.

I've never really understood the Meltan thing to begin with - it's not something in the regular game right and not in the Pokedex.  Kind of random and seems like a gimmick - I realize this is a game so it's not a huge deal but the whole thing seems kind of weird and just a way to try and get people to play more.

Impossible to get the Meltan evolution without the Nintendo switch game....

 
last week i thought a pokermon was hiding in my garage but it ends up that it was possum and it tried to bite me so i had to call animal control and now it is a dead possumlax take that to the bank brochachos 

 
Just got a new office and it is right above a stop and near three more plus the street in front is constantly full of mons. I am not going to be very efficient I am guessing.

Got the Kricketot evolution, Monferno and Grotle just today—plus evolved a great IV Abomasnow

I did learn that you can get one battling other trainers.  I’ve gotten one that way so you may want to try it.

 
Chiefs game vs. Community day. Rough one for an addict like me. Going to try to get about 90 minutes in, few shinies, and call it good. Glad it's only Totodile this month.

Anyway, got a shiny meditite last week was kinda my highlite. At about 0/130 on shiny Absol which I think is ridiculous!

Spent a hoard of my rare candy on Meltan only to find out my nephew a block away has the Switch AND Let's Go! LOL.

Guy in my group said Sinnoh only dropping on battles now - not the weekly research. He's usually pretty accurate but I haven't confirmed. He said just the first two weeks dropped Sinnoh.

 
Anybody still doing this?  I'm still plugging along as downtown around my work is littered with stops and gyms.

Level 36 - will get to 37 this week as I'm like 50k away

Kanto - 148

Johto - 98

Hoenn - 119

Sinnoh - 73

I've evolved everything I can in the first 3 - have several evolutions to do with Sinnoh Stones.

This latest sleeping Snorlax thing  was stupid.  Played the game for a long time and had 3 of them - in 2 days caught like 15 more. 

Is the only hope of filling out the Pokedex either to find someone who traveled overseas and make trades and/or be friends with someone and hope you get luck with eggs?  Pretty sure if I completed the Pokedex and got to level 40 I'd quit.  As it is, I don't make any special trips - just do it around the office and on walks.

Getting a little burnt out with it finally. There just isn't a bunch of new things popping up. I am pretty far away on some (like the Porygon2 Sinnoh Stone evolution).

 
I'm still playing, but my motivation is real low. I'm level 40 with a full gen 1 pokedex. There's not much left to do. I still play during certain events though

 
Finally some new special research. 

I've been 1 day away from Best Friends with @tangfoot for a few days or more now.  I think he's messing with me.

I'm down to 2 that I can evolve - Magnezone and Melmetal - I've evolved everything else that I can - only things left are regional and legendaries (that I can tell).  One I'm unsure of is Gible - is that a regional?

I was like random friend invites WTH, but now I come on here and whew, glad to see it was FBGs. I was worried it was some kind of spoofers. 

 
My daughter wanted to go downtown and get some Pokeballs. We got there and found hundreds of people playing. I mean the sidewalks were packed. It was the  Raikou raid event. It sucked that we only came home with one even though we battled several times. I just couldn't believe how many people were out still playing. 

 
Went back out today and walked with the family (I am really trying to lose 25 pounds this summer) but still ran into multiple groups of people playing in this park by me. Not a huge haul, but a raid victory and one shiny caught. I have to admit I tend to play solo in this game, but with my teenager daughter getting back into the game and several of her friends still involved, I have been racking up friend requests and ACTUALLY having to interact with people. I am not on FB, but our city apparently has a large FB group (my daughter found it)--so I am going to bite the bullet and open a FB account just to be part of the meet ups.

Tomorrow at 5:00 pm is our Deoxys ex raid. I really need a life that I am excited as a 49 year old man to be typing that and leaving my job early to attend. What has my life become..... :nerd:

 
So the wife and I have been playing Pokémon Go for about two months now and are stuck on the missions to get three friends. We have two friends that play but we friended them previously and need three new friends each. Also we always have extra presents to give out.

On a side note we live in a rural area now and can spot the people playing at the park, church, and post office that has 7 pokestops and 4 gyms.

We have 35 YO Jeep lady and her late teen daughter, 16 YO chubby backpack kid, 25 YO Stick like backwards hat guy,  the four pack of teens that create a blue or red wave through everything, nerdy mid 20 YO guy that never saw sunlight before this game, and our rivals, the other couple in late 20s that we have clashed with on five occasions.

Got my Deoxys yesterday with my daughter. That raid was full on chaos in that front of that supermarket. We basically shut the place down for a bit there. Cars were parked up on the sidewalks. I felt bad for legitimate shoppers because there were just groups of people standing around playing.

Do you need the friend accept for Coffee4LifeYo currently?  The majority of my 22 friends are FBGs with the exception of a handful of Georgetown, DC folks I've encountered around the office.  I don't know how many board members are left and would like to hold for when we've got another friend requirement in task 6.

PS, I'm going to have to work these locals to get my 3 trades in Task 5.

PPS,  Everyone holding off on claiming rewards for each task and popping a Lucky Egg to close out the task?  I started with Task 2 and evolved a bunch of new Gen 4 & 5 I've been saving to my Pokedex clearing about 80k xp. 670k to Level 39.
