We had super duper hardcore discord administrators that were raiding at EX locations multiple times a week and not getting any passes while one guy's five year old kid borrowing his mom's phone for his account kept getting passes for almost every raid for the first month (4-5). Everybody had a good laugh, lucky little *******... talking about the kid, not you. Good luck!

Dratini will be a good one. I wonder what they could do for the exclusive move. It would lose the move as soon as you evolve it.

MewTwo raid in 3 hours. 
Apparently it's "Windy" in the game which means he's weather boosted (read: awesomer). My GF Built up two different raid teams, one for a Focus Blast equipped MewTwo (Scizor/ Pinsir / Pinsir / Gyardos / Gengar / Ho-Oh) and one if he doesn't have Focus Blast (Tyranitar / Pinsir / Pinsir / Houndoom / Houndoom / Ho-Oh). I'm just going to hammer the ####### screen until it dies, then try not to #### up the catching part.
She also taught me some trick to "Set the circle" by holding the ball until the circle reaches "Great" size, then leave it alone until he starts his "move", then quickly spin and release as soon as his move stops, and it will ensure a "Great" or "Excellent" sized target every time.
It worked for the 6 Rain-Boosted Kyogre we caught on Saturday.

I have no idea what you just said. Legendary raids i cant so with just my and my,sons phone.

Yeah the legendary raids have been kind of a No go for me as well. I guess the whole social concept of the game eludes me. I enjoy playing alone and sometimes my 13 year old will join, but together we can’t take down more than a 3 tier raid and couldn’t think of doing a legendary

Six? That's a good chunk of work for one day. And that's coming from a guy that's done 150 legendary raids so far. I've never set up teams either, I just use what the game suggests. Maybe you don't want to hook up with a group but try Discord if you do. We've got a large and strong community in the area and I didn't realize until I ran into someone at a legendary raid and they hooked us up with their Discord group. Yep local groups here use either WhatsApp or discord. They do pretty regular stuff and the people seem to be very friendly. Kids and adults both.
Yep got the MewTwo with the first ball. Kinda oddly easy. We had 10 folks in our group (split into blue team group, and a red/yellow team group) and KO’d it in about 45 seconds. Out of 25ish people at the raid everyone caught it but 2 folks. A bunch of stardust and rare candies later and I have him maxed out around 3500cp.

My older son somehow found a way to miss catching it the first time though. Fortunately he caught it the second time though. My younger son caught it both times he had passes and 2nd one was a 96% IV so pretty nice one. I only got one of the passes and caught it. That's alot of rare candies you must have had to max him out, sounds like you're underselling your Pokemon Go dedication.
I need to find a way to trade rare pokemon for bourbon...

Ha! I honestly really haven’t played much up until a few months ago and have picked up a bit since November as the GF has. We DO have the luxury of having an outdoor mall nearly that has 14 spins (including 4-5 gyms) in a 5 min loop. Factor in lucky eggs and whatnot and we can rack up decent amounts of crap pretty quick, which is nice. I burn out much quicker than her.....
wait...still talking about Pokémon? It IS much more enjoyable with her gung ho about it. She’s almost l40, and I’m about to roll 33. She didn’t take the year+ off that I did I guess

I liked the overlapping triple dust for certain PM during the event and the one right after. With a star piece, you got 450 dust per boosted catch. I think I piled up almost 200,000. With the increased spawns I was able to grab a perfect Chansey (although low level... 7), nice perfect Lickitung(35), perfect Luvdisc (27), etc. Not bad.
Had some annoying misses though. Got to a perfect Feebas just in time to catch only to have the weather change and he was no longer perfect. Thought I missed a perfect Beldon so didn't go for it and later noticed it was an hour spawn instead of half and was only 15 mins away so could have got it if I noticed. I did nab a perfect Trapinch (29) though and he's pretty rare around here so that was cool. Got a perfect Beldum but also low level (13) so would take a ton of candy and duct to max out so will hope for better instead of evolving right away.
I've been sitting on enough candy to evolve Feebas and Wailmer but waiting for a perfect to pop up that I can get to,
If you haven't noticed, I like finding rare perfects and maxing them out, must be the former baseball card collector in me.

You use a scanner or something? I havent even seen a trapnich or beldum...i have caught two bagon.

There's a local Discord community set up by a guy that runs a really nice scanner that sends out alerts through the app for rare stuff and some specific stuff you're looking for. For example there's a room that lists all the 100's it finds and rooms for Unowns, Bagons, Beldums, Dratinits, Larvitars, etc. The guy spends a decent chunk of time keeping it up and running and updated. I think it also runs him around $100 a month but we all chip in to help out. We probably would have been over Pokemon a while ago if we didn't have that resource.
Even with the scanner covering a WIDE area it sometimes takes weeks to months for something really rare to pop up like Unowns, perfect dratinis or larvs, etc. Its crazy how rare some of this stuff really is and regular players have absolutely no hope of running into it.

Interesting... we have a guy who built a map here locally too. But he’s from jersey and runs it in a couple other cities he travels to. Is your guys name Paul?
Agreed a good scanner makes the game INFINITELY more playable.

Everybody draws their own lines of what they're willing to do. Most people (but not all) in our community use the scanners but frown upon spoofers and usually we end up setting up private groups at raids to keep them out. (Spoofers = guys that sit at home and use a program to alter their GPS location so they can go anywhere in the game) If I was just walking around and catching pidgeys and weedles all day I would have been done with the game long ago.

my kids absolutely loved the dratini event today. and they both caught like 3 shiny ones each and got a green Dragonite.

Yep that was a fun event. Green Dragonite is pretty ugly but still cool to get one. Events like this are a good way to keep my interest alive.

You would be shocked at how many people still play. The waterfront park by my house was jammed
I definitely would. I hadn’t even heard the name of the game in a long time and my boys all played all the time when it first came out.

The park was packed with people playing during this event. I have a gym outside my window at work and when something special pops, you will see little groups of people start assembling.and then there are the middle aged guys like me standing on the sidelines pretending to check our stock quotes, but no, we need that special raid candy for our Wailmer

It was a fun event. Even though it was raining off and on, our local Pokepark was as packed as I've ever seen it. The park is a nice short loop with about a dozen stops / gyms in range of the walkway. All the stops were lured up and there were Dratinis everywhere. Me and my boys were walking around the park for about 2 hours and occasionally driving off for perfects. I think i ended up just short of 140 pinapping almost every one. 13 of those were shiny, 4 were perfect, and was lucky enough to get one perfect shiny that I then spent a ton of dust and candy maxing out. Son #2 ended up with 11 shiny but son #1 only got 1, had the same shiny luck with Pikachu... poor kid.
Not too excited about Bulbasaur for the next one though.

so this current "event" has been really good, not sure too many people might have noticed, but 10k Purple eggs have been coming out of non-stop and they have been producing very good stuff so far for me:

I've been churning through eggs this week. Now have 4 open spots and despite hitting a dozen or so pokestops since yesterday afternoon I haven't gotten any new eggs. I usually don't have to hit more than a few stops to fill an open egg spot. Going to have to start discarding other items in my bag just to keep open item spots to keep hitting stops.
I noticed I was getting a lot more 10k eggs, but I never saw an announcement about this event.

Yeah they never announced the 10k thing but after legendary week the stops were spitting them out like mad

They're fortunate that the new "Research" feature came out while the scanners are down. My kids still want to go out and get they're stamps each day. We got our first set of 7 field stamps complete yesterday for the Moltres encounter. I'm about 50 candies away from the "evolve a Magiikarp" step in the special research and then I should get my Mew shortly thereafter. (I had plenty of candies until I decided to evolve and max a perfect Magikarp a couple of weeks before the research thing came out, bad timing or I'd be done)

i love the research feature--got my Moltres. I am glad you can opt out of some of the Field ones, because some of them are a pain.

Make one your buddy and you get a candy per 1km, I'm up over 60km with mine since I realized I needed to evolve another Magikarp and needed more candies. I'm only about 7 away now and should get Mew in the next few days.
In other news, finally got a second Mewtwo on Sat and it wasn't bad, had a 15 attack at least... 91 IV, 15-12-14

I still play a lot. I get a little obsessive with organizing my Dex trying to find the best IVs. (Yeah I need a life). 
I had a real crazy moment this week. I have been walking with my Oddish because I still needed a Vileplume to almost complete my series one Dex. It has been taking me forever to get to 100 candies because Oddish for some reason can’t be found here. However on Friday they showed up everywhere. I was right on the cusp of getting 100 candies when what appears in the wild? A Vileplume. Just so weird to see something like that appear outside my office when I have been trying to get one for so long.
There still are several mons from series two I have never caught like a heracross, a forretress or unown. The conspiracy theorist in me wonders if Niantic made so many of the mons available to catch in the wild recently is so people can complete their Dexs and maybe lose a little interest in this game. With their Harry Potter game coming, they know the same group of players who play this now will probably also play that game and it will be easiler to get people on board if they aren’t still as invested in Go anymore.

Went to London for a few days, and Mr Mime was everywhere...like pidgey level common. Then, on the last day, unown was all over the place. Caught 4 different letters.

Yeah I think the "regional" rares are everywhere now. I went to Florida for easter and I was catching heracross on my parents couch must have caught near 20 on that trip and only 1 corsola.
I haven't caught a ditto in awhile. they usually come from crap like rats or pidgeys.
today is community day for Mareep. kinda boring but they are normally very rare. and eggs will be hatching at like 4x faster rate during those 3 hours.
This gen 1 event, while ok, I haven't seen a single rare type guy spawn...no snorlax no lapras.....magikarp everywhere though.

This was a fun event. My wife and daughter had a baby shower to go to, so I hit one of the parks and there were (not exaggerating) hundreds of people there playing. I spent an hour there walking the trails and then went to another park and there were tons of people there too.
Fun day—I hit the liquor store on the way home and it is a Pokestop. I was catching everything I could before I went in and when I checked out, the old guy at the register asked me, “Did you get any Shiny one’s? I already got three today.” Just hilarious how many people still play.
