That should probably be enough to seal his fate. The Panthers do not take things like this lightly, especially if you have very little to offer on the field. Gettis was already the starter over Jarrett anyway. The person who may benefit from this would be Brandon Lafell, but I wouldn't really be in a rush to add any Carolina Panthers wide receiver to my team at this time.

If I had to pick up any single Panthers player based on Smith's injury and this news, it would be Mike Goodson. With Smith out, he's likely to get a lot of the quick hits that Smith usually gets.

Also, the people who have been getting burned by DeAngelo and Stewart will probably get some relief.

haven't caught any Carolina games, has Goodson been playing in the slot or is he lining up in the backfield? If he hasn't been playing out of the slot do you think he will now that SS is out and they have very limited receiving options?

Austin Miles and Roddy White could be the starting WRs in Carolina it wouldn't matter right now. Their offense is mostly bad and they have a terrible QB situation right now. No one on that squad is going to finish north of 650-750 yds receiving for the season.

Wish Jarrett wasn't such a waste. I'm sure Pete Carroll will bring him in for a look.
