Porter is a Classless Punk and should be suspended! (1 Viewer)

friend of mine was sitting at the table with levi jones for a couple of hours. great story. he said levi was pretty cool.

According to that link "when the initial fists started flying Levi grabbed Porter and threw him and then everybody jumped in"

Later Jones was yelling at Porter " I am going to ####### kill you, I am going to ####### kill you".

No doubt Porter is an absolute jerk but it sounds like they were both acting like idiots that night.

Now if the Bengals would draft Levi Brown then they would have a pair of Levi's.

video is suppose to be released next week.....can't wait.....the chains that were taken have been turned into the Palms

Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Miami Dolphins LB Joey Porter threw the first punch during an attack on Cincinnati Bengals OT Levi Jones, according to a redacted report on the incident. Las Vegas Police told The Enquirer that Jones was gambling at a table at the Palms casino when he was approached by Porter. Video of the incident shows Porter striking Jones with a closed first, with several unidentified men then joining in and punching Jones. Porter was charged with misdemeanor battery and released.

Is Porter a Krip? Not only is Levi punched with no provocation, he is then ganged up on. This is just bad news.

Porter is a thug and should be suspended.

Getting high and beating someone with the help of a crowd are two different things. So, the Chris Henry talk makes no sense.

According to the audio link at the beginning of this thread by two eyewitnesses this isn't exactly how it went down. Apparently there were words between Porter and Jones and a couple punches were thrown. Then there was a "lull" and it was dying down when Jones picked up and threw Porter. At that point they said "everybody" jumped in.I am not defending Porter in any way because it does sound like he threw he first punch but they way you paint it, Porter and a bunch of guys just jumped the innocent bystander Jones.

 ........This is a fight between two football players. The victim is 300 plus pounds. I'm pretty certain both guys deal with more during a game than what happened in this incident. The only aspect I don't like is the bystanders jumping in.

If both guys had been left to settle their differences alone, we would know who was better at throwing down fists. I propose a pay-per-view event with these two in an ultimate fighting style event. There ought to be a few million for each guy in participating.

Btw, it also corroborates that Levi was attacked by a group.-QG
Please bold the portion that corroborates the story that he was attacked by a group...LAS VEGAS -- Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter pleaded no contest Wednesday and paid a $1,000 fine for punching Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Levi Jones after a disagreement at a casino blackjack table, authorities said. Porter did not appear in Las Vegas Justice Court while his lawyer, Karen Winckler, entered the plea to a misdemeanor battery charge and paid the fine, said a court aide to Justice of the Peace Pro Tem James Gubler. Gubler accepted the plea from Winckler on Porter's behalf.Winckler did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.Porter, 30, and Jones, 27, scuffled March 18 inside the Palms hotel-casino and in the valet area after exchanging words at the blackjack table, prosecutor Brian Rutledge said. He said Porter could have faced up to six months in jail and the $1,000 fine. Jones was not charged.Jones, who suffered a cut on his forehead, said Porter "approached him to fight because they argue on the football field," according to a police report. The report says Porter threw the first punch.Porter, 6-foot-3 and 250 pounds, left the Pittsburgh Steelers after eight years and signed a five-year, $32 million deal with the Dolphins in March. Jones, 6-5 and 307 pounds, missed much of last season with a knee injury. The NFL has been cracking down on off-field misbehavior since Roger Goodell became commissioner last summer. Porter's plea is certain to draw the league's attention. The two players had a history of on-field trash talking with each other when the Steelers and Bengals played. The teams are in the AFC North, and play each other twice each season.Neither Jones nor the Bengals had any comment, Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said Wednesday from Cincinnati.Dolphins head coach Cam Cameron issued a statement in Miami crediting Porter with informing the team of the incident."Joey has been upfront and honest with me since joining our team," Cameron said. "He fully understands the type of character we expect from our players, both on and off the field, and I am confident he will learn from this."Neither Jones nor the Bengals had any comment, Bengals spokesman Jack Brennan said Wednesday from Cincinnati. :sarcasm:

Porter is a D-Bag. Regardless of who is to blame, just reading the crap that dripped out of his c@ck holster is enough to warrant some hate. In 05 I had the fortune of having to start him in an IDP league along with W.Green (bye week/lack of RB depth); thanks to baby teeth talking junk in pregame warmups and starting a fight with Green both were ejected and I was out 2 starters and ended up losing by less than 5 points to an even weaker team.

Here you go...Porter still awaits ruling from NFL

Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter signs autographs for fans during minicamp at the team's headquarters in May.Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter's case might be closed in the courtroom, but his issues stemming from a fight with Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle Levi Jones at a Las Vegas casino now will shift into the NFL's hands.

Porter, who wasn't present at Wednesday's hearing, entered a guilty/no contest plea on a misdemeanor battery charge through his attorney, Karen Winckler. As a result, Porter was punished with a $1,000 fine, which Winckler paid immediately after.

With Porter's legal issues finalized, the NFL must decide whether it also will punish South Florida's newest sports star. The league had no immediate update Wednesday, and it could not provide a time frame.

''At this point, it's the same as we've said in the past,'' NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said Wednesday. ``It's still under review. There's nothing to add yet.''

As for Porter's stance with the team, coach Cam Cameron did not indicate whether Porter would be punished internally, but said in a statement he has been pleased with the linebacker's honesty since the incident took place.

''Joey has been up front and honest with me since joining our team,'' Cameron said. ``He fully understands the type of character we expect from our players, both on and off the field, and I am confident he will learn from this.''

However, Porter still might not have picked an ideal time to have his first off-the-field fight, considering commissioner Roger Goodell has been coming down hard on bad behavior. Such an incident might not have merited much more than a fine in the past, but a suspension seems much more possible as a result of the offseason's precedent.

Porter was cited with a battery charge in March, when he and several friends attacked Jones at the Palms Casino.

Through the Bengals' media relations department, Jones said he would not comment publicly about the incident anymore.

Weeks after the fight, Jones called Porter a ''coward'' for the attack.

The two players had a long history of verbal jabs on the field, since both met twice a year in the Bengals' AFC North rivalry with the Steelers (Porter's former team). Jones, an offensive lineman, and Porter will meet again this season when the Dolphins play the Bengals on Dec. 30.

That's a completely different article than the one you claimed corroborated the "group" story. Same speculation from months ago. If a group of people attacked Jones, why is Porter the only one being cited/fined?

I meant what came out of the case, not the specific article.

Doesn't change that Porter's a classless thug.
