Possible +1 stat correction to Jags D/ST (1 Viewer)

This play was ruled as an intended run, and therefore not a sack, when the QB clearly was looking to throw to Vernon Davis and then tucked it away because of the coverage and pressure. I know this could affect some championship games if there is a scoring change, including me losing by half a point in the semis. We've got to get Taven Bryan his deserved first career sack!

Looks pretty clear to me that the QB changed his posture and intent to become a runner.  Kind of an odd crusade that you’re on here.

if the play is a designed pass it's a sack in this case

ETA: stat corrections are done on Tuesdays I believe. anything corrected after Tuesdays isn't changed in fantasy. the fact that it hasnt been fixed yet means it wont change the results of fantasy games.

My understanding is that if he ever intended to pass, it's a sack. So by saying the QB changed his posture and intent to become a runner, you're indicating that he did originally intend to pass and it should be a sack.

Yeah, my understanding has always been that if a QB scrambles and doesn't make it back to the line, that's a sack.

The Florida-Times Union says: Jaguars rookie defensive lineman Taven Bryan had his first career sack ... for about a minute Sunday. The Redskins lined up with two receivers left, one right and a running back to Johnson’s left in the shotgun. Tight end Vernon Davis was about two yards into the backfield, near the outside shoulder of right tackle Morgan Moses. At the snap, Johnson faked a hand-off while Davis ran across the field behind the line of scrimmage. Jamison Crowder (originally in the left slot) quickly prepared to start blocking as Johnson looked toward Davis. However, the Jaguars had several players in the area, so Johnson opted to scramble. As he did, Bryan disengaged Moses and tackled Johnson for a loss of 1. Initially, Bryan was credited with his first career sack before it was officially changed to a quarterback run and a tackle for loss. We’re saying that was the wrong call.

I think you're SOL. there was a stat correction a few years ago that happened after Tuesday but all of the leagues said scores/outcomes were official as of Wednesday and it was up to each leagues commish. I ended up losing by 0.05 points or something ridiculous and was knocked out of the championship game. I believe that was  RB that was credited with a few yards or something. I believe it was 2016.

So it will be up to your commish.

I also wonder if the league is less likely to make a stat correction on a judgment call. Usually they come over black-and-white questions like whether something was a pass or a handoff, or who was responsible for a fumble, or who made a tackle. But in this case, it seems to hinge on whether Johnson intended to pass or not. Not sure the league would second-guess an official scorer like that.

The league makes these changes all the time.  It comes into play a lot when you play with IDP.  There are tackle/sack/assist changes every week.  Probably anywhere from 15-30 of these each week.  Most are minor (change for a full tackle to an assist or vice versa) but sometimes they change from a sack to a tackle (or vice versa) as described in this thread.  I lost a critical game a few weeks ago because something initially ruled a run and no sack was changed to a sack and gave my opponents IDP player enough points to overtake me.
