As commish in my league (and have been for several years), I wouldn't even QUESTION the validity of this trade. Seems as though everyone is all over the "sexy" factor of trading away Manning for something less, but the fact of the matter is the Chi D is a HUGE upgrade for the opposing team. While most hardcore FF people seem to thing that PK and Def are just "throw away" positions because they are so hard to predict at the begineeing of the season, when you hit on the superstar of that position for the year it can be the difference between an average and breakout year for the owner. Chicago's defense will be on the field every game the rest of the year GUARANTEED, while Manning is just a big probable. The basis of this trade is Manning for Chicago, with other wash bait/fixups in between. One can argue there are inequalities in the scoring potential if the throw in's long term due to injury factors, but who knows if and when the injuries wll fade away this season? If I were in the cellar with banged up players and looking to make my move, I'd take the healthy guys every time!

Collusion is a very strong word, and this is no way lopsided enough to warrant that collusion accusations. For me to even consider collusion, you need to see a clear pattern of these things developing between a couple of owners or a group of owners. Almost every trade will have a winner/loser in most people's eyes, but just because the consensus decide one team got the better "deal" doesn't mean that it was collusion. Most of the time, it's just jealousy by the other owners that they didn't try to make a deal for the players everyone wants but didn't figure they could get...

Edited to remove a statement based on faulty math...but my agruement still remains the same!

1) Its lopsided, but not collusion. This one certainly depends on the owners (Such as are they brothers? Do they have it out against a playoff bound team that Team A might get to face?)

2) The Real Question: How did Team B become a cellar dweller with Manning? So he has zero shot of playoffs? I find that hard to believe.
It's a Total Points League... Although he's not totally out of the running yet, he is 250 pts out of 1st place. At this point in time, he is sitting at 10th outta 11. At the time of the trade, he's a cellar-dweller.The league runs for 17 weeks without Playoffs. It pays out to the top 3 after 17 weeks. Team B is -248, -217, and -134 points behind 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. He's not out of the running but he is pretty far behind with 8 weeks to go. I don't think he made an effort to improve his chances either... I'd have a hard time putting my money on a Defense to carry me into the top 3. But, that's just me...

In a head to head league, this would probably qualify for collusion. However with your system it isn't as bad, but deserves atleast an explanation from both sides.

Since it's a 17 week league there is even more reason to trade Manning.. this guy might be trying to get to the top 3 and figures he won't get there if his QB doesn't play the last 3 weeks of the season.. if he keeps Peyton he might only have 5 weeks left of him while he might get 7 games out of Brady.. that is a HUGE difference if you are trying to add total points... The Chicago Defense is a HUGE upgrade and He might not believe that Fitz comes back..

I don't think there is anything wrong with this trade at all. I'd love to have Chicago over Dallas, Fitz is questionable with Leinart at QB right now. The TEs are a wash. And I do think that Manning will sit some at the end, and Brady is a quality QB. I have no clue why this trade is even questioned.
