Hear ye, hear ye! All of you survivor bears need to wake up from your hibernation and sign up for 2025's first survivor draft. It will be called Post NFL Draft 25 Survivor. We have a target to have sixteen drafters, but will consider the draft on once we have at least twelve participants. The plan is to begin this draft on Monday, April 29th at 8:00 am EDT.

As many of y'all know, I am reluctant to changes, but due to loud pleas from several folks, we are modifying the scoring for this draft so that the tight end position receives 1.5 ppr. All other scoring rules will remain the same.

The scoring positions will be:

QB - 1
RB - 2
WR - 3
TE - 1
DST - 1
Flex - 3

There will be no kickers in this survivor. There will be three flex players, that can be drafted from either RB/WR/TE positions for a total of 11 scoring players. We will have an eight hour clock and the clock will be turned off from Midnight until 8am EDT.

Draft position will be by random drawing as soon as we have 16, or on Sunday evening as the draft concludes, it we have 12.

Eight days till the 2025 NFL Draft begins and we now have twelve folks signed up for our first Survivor Draft. It would be great to add four more. Spread the word.

My preference is survivor, makes checking in each week for the Monday night sweat more fun than checking in at the end of the year. Also have Ref's league that we can run as a BB.

I also like the elimination aspect of the survivors. Hopefully we can get this set up tonight and begin Tuesday or Wednesday.

There’s value to both, I’m just not sure how to set it up with 13 teams in an 18 week season? Play the first few weeks before elimination, then go weekly, then playoffs?

I like BB as well but prefer survivor. Could possible eliminate 1 per week through week 7 leaving 6. Then do two week cumulative points for 8/9, 10/11, 12/13, 14/15 and 16/17 to get to winner. That would skip week 18 which is prone to playoff resting. Just an idea.

Looking at options, but I believe having one elimination for two weeks early on seems like a good one. Maybe with a two week final between the last two teams standing?

I'll do whatever....but the "bad" thing about survivor obviously is you spend all this time doing the draft and then your season can be over in two weeks....the top three scoring teams in MBSL were eliminated by week six last year...I realize the argument about that's the point and the strategy is different....blah blah blah....which is true to some extent.....(probably not really as much as we give it)..... especially in this one where we are doing it before the bye weeks are announced) .....so the luck factor gets cranked up several notches....and I hate luck....lol

but to maybe be part of the solution instead of the problem....I'd offer this to somewhat eliminate the one week bad luck factor and help with us not knowing bye weeks.....

say 16 week season (don't play week 17-18)...with 16 teams....(I know we don't have 16 but just hang with me)....

after first 4 weeks....bottom four scorers are eliminated....
after 8 weeks....the next bottom four eliminated...
after 12 weeks .....next four are eliminated....

leaving 4 teams left

those 4 battle weeks 13-14....bottom two get eliminated

leaving two left...

they battle weeks 15-16 for the ship...

(appropriate adjustments can be made to the above to account for less teams and if you want to play week 17).....but the idea remains the same...

this way....."your body of work" gets a little time to adjust for "one bad week" so to speak...just a thought....there might be some holes I haven't thought of...

I'm completely shuked as to why in the hell we can't find 3 more guys to round out the field to 16?

@Biabreakable , @Go DC Yourself off the top of my head. I'm on my phone now

Could some of you guys please "@" some more people from the previous Survivor League Threads?

I sent out several emails and texts, Go DC wanted to, but was going to be on vacation for a while. One other considered but no response afterwards

It stands to reason that the earlier in the Season that the League drafts, that the Rosters should be deeper, due to the level of variability, uncertainty, chaos or what-have-you (NFL Roster situations yet-to-be-defined) ... right now NFL Rosters are almost swollen to max capacity, and Leagues drafting right now should reflect that, IMHO.

Ideally (at least my version of ideally), we'd hold 4 of these Leagues, from now until final NFL Roster cuts are made, with 2 in between, and each successive League would have a decreasing # of Draft Rounds/Roster Slots.

Por Ejemplo:

Draft #1: 24
Draft #2: 22
Draft #3: 20
Draft #4: 18

...but this is just a suggestion coming from the peanut gallery. I'm down with whatever the group decides works for the majority.

yeah, I do agree that earlier drafts should have more draft spots, especially now, with no camp AND no schedule

Someone explain to me the rules.
As I recall this is going to be a slow draft and take anywhere from 2-3 weeks, also we have 16 GMs
Once we finish the Draft we are basically done
No line ups to set
Each week during season it gets bumped and one team is eliminated

Boom/Bust types can be very helpful some weeks and then send you packing the next
Best Ball format I am assuming
It's been years since I drafted in one of these, just my recollection

@Biabreakable and @Ministry of Pain

Most of the scoring rules are provided at the MFL link above. However, we are reducing the TE to 1.5 ppr, adding an additional flex scorer (RB/WR/TE), and removing the PK position,

Everyone who joins will be linked to the new website shortly and have time to review scoring better
