19 players in my Super Bowl™. We'll see if I have enough firepower to get there.

7 scores in Wildcard Round.

10 scores in Divisional Round.

8 scores in Conference Championships.

Go big or go home. Have fun everyone!
I thought I did pretty good getting 13 players in the Super Bowl. Curious about your roster.

Went with a Denver Seattle Super Bowl

Had New England Seattle for the longest time but thought that would be the popular pick and went with Denver in the last hour. Also thought a lot of people would go Pittsburgh with an extra game. I think you could do well with either Denver / New England / Pittsburgh. Thought Cincinnati would be a good pick as well but didn't like the QB situation. You almost would have to take both McCarren and Dalton to have a chance and that's too much money.

In the NFC I like Seattle's experience and extra game. I like Carolina but their offense worries me in matchups against tough Ds against Seattle and Arizona. I think it will be one of Carolina / Arizona / or Seattle. Eliminated CAR for the above reason. Actually liked ARI by a nose over SEA but man, their players were expensive and it was tough to get a decent roster. Edge to Seattle for that reason. Just didn't know what to do with Lynch.

My rooster:

QB - Russell Wilson - 33
QB - Peyton Manning - 26
QB - A.J. McCarron - 21
RB - Ronnie Hillman - 17
RB - C.J. Anderson - 14
RB - Christine Michael - 9
RB - Fred Jackson - 6
RB - Bryce Brown - 4
RB - Pierre Thomas - 3
RB - John Kuhn - 2
WR - Demaryius Thomas - 23
WR - Emmanuel Sanders - 22
WR - Doug Baldwin - 21
WR - Tyler Lockett - 15
WR - Mohamed Sanu - 6
WR - Jamison Crowder - 5
WR - Cecil Shorts - 4
WR - Danny Amendola - 4
WR - Chris Conley - 2
TE - Owen Daniels - 10
TE - Luke Willson - 3

Total value: 250

P.S. Also considered KC as a long shot as thought they would be picked by very few.

No K or DST?

Awfully light on TEs in a 1.5 ppr format

I'm going for a DEN-ARI Super Bowl. $212 on those two teams, so I could easily get knocked out quick with only $38 going in the Wild Card round.

Does anyone have a way to count how many entries are betting on each Super Bowl matchup? (Maybe counting an entry as betting on a particular matchup if it has at least $175 on those two teams?)

[Edit] Here's who I have going this weekend:

3 P Thomas WAS
5 J Crowder WAS

6 Texans HOU
7 A Blue HOU

4 B Brown SEA
6 Packers GB
7 M Crosby GB

And here's who I have in the Super Bowl:

26 P Manning DEN
14 C Anderson DEN
23 D Thomas DEN
22 E Sanders DEN
10 B McManus DEN

34 C Palmer ARI
23 D Johnson ARI
5 C Johnson ARI

22 L Fitzgerald ARI
20 Jo Brown ARI

13 C Catanzaro ARI

Yeah, it's a gamble. Out of the top 12 finishers last year five picked 0 K/DST. 3 picked 1. Had either SEA or DEN kicker on the roster at one point or the other but sacrificed them for players that could help me early on.

Neither of my Super Bowl teams had decent TEs really. TE could be a problem but would have to sacrifice players in the early rounds for a decent TE. The really top TEs were expensive and didn't want to spend that much for a player that wouldn't help me in the Super Bowl. Risky but ya gotta take a chance.

How is not having any position (other than qb probably) really a risk? This isn't the season contest. Take the guys you expect to score. The only reason I took the Chiefs D is, well you're seeing it already.

i did too. went all or nothing and only picked den and ari players so i need fewer than 4000 to enter the contest or i'm done.

Only DEN-ARI players? 0 players this round is a big risk but only 4 players in the next 2 rounds is a very big risk.

Good luck

Well true. If I happen to make it to the Super Bowl and the SEA - DEN Ds or Ks come up big I'll get hurt. A risk but a calculated risk

Did mine last minute. I have KC/ARI in a pick 'em contest, so I went with them as my Super Bowl teams. Looked at taking some from other teams, but ended up just going all in with a small roster.

Go Chiefs and Panthers
You're my virtual plan B to track as that's the way I would've gone if I hadn't gone Bengals-Panthers.

-QG

Here's my Bengals-Panthers lineup:

QB - Cam Newton - 37
QB - Kirk Cousins - 23
QB - Andy Dalton - 8
RB - Giovani Bernard - 12
RB - Jeremy Hill - 11
RB - Steven Jackson - 7
RB - Cameron Artis-Payne - 4
WR - A.J. Green - 18
WR - Marvin Jones - 14
WR - Corey Brown - 11
WR - Devin Funchess - 8
WR - Mohamed Sanu - 6
WR - Cecil Shorts - 4
TE - Greg Olsen - 23
TE - Jordan Reed - 19
TE - Tyler Eifert - 14
TE - Owen Daniels - 10
PK - Graham Gano - 13
PK - Mike Nugent - 8

$187 in the Super Bowl. Opted to skip McCarron and use the $ elsewhere - I think if they get to the Super Bowl Andy will be back in the saddle.

The biggest gamble I'm taking is going only 5 players this week (Cousins, Reed, Shorts and my 2 best Bengals). I tried to make a team that was in line with other winning entries from the past. AFC is wide open so went ahead with my Who Deys :)

-QG

I went with a KC vs CAR SB... AFC is wide open and I figured KC wouldn't be a popular pick.
Starting to look like the :shark: pick though - gotta hope the number of casuals is high.

-QG
KC might be more popular than expected though as people seem to have picked them thinking it would be an unpopular pick. Of the 8 combos posted so far 5 of them have KC. They do look good so far.
Agreed though I gummed up my point by adding the :shark: :)

Bet heavy on the Seahawks (as others have, I'm sure). I just don't have much confidence in Carolina or Arizona. I tried to spread it around in the AFC as I don't see a clear-cut favorite.

Tough route for the homer-pick Vikings with Seahawks, Cardinals and Panthers in my scenario. Pulling for:

Wildcard: Chiefs and Bengals

Wildcard: Vikings and Redskins

Bengals\Chiefs > Bengals AFC

Vikings\Panthers > Vikings NFC

QB - Andy Dalton - 8 (Punted on McCarron; expecting to see Dalton for Divisional Round)

RB - Matt Asiata - 3

As one of the Chiefs rosters, that wasn't really much of a factor for me. Being more unique doesn't really do you any good if the team doesn't go anywhere.

Very interesting. IMO long shot in the Vikings but you need to take risks in this contest. Probably a winner if the Vikings and Bengals advance to the Super Bowl. And my guess is very few players will be owned from the Vikings that even if you don't hit the AFC opponent you may be in contention for a top finish. You'll have 12 Vikings and then at least one if the Bengals Chiefs or New England advance. 13 players at minimum in the Super Bowl in that case. Nicely done.

Chefs - Arizona here. Liked the Steelers better but decided to zag instead of zig. That may have back fired. I didn't take the Chefs defense so I may go down sense Smith's 14ish will count for me. Cousins, Wash K, and Starks/Lacy to the mix are going to need to post a big score. I guess Novak's donut will count.

90 percent of my picks are the same as yours. I added Chris Johnson and Kerwynn Williams and Kelce is my only TE. Like the AZ vs KC super bowl as well. Figured to add depth from both teams at RB as the play books open up a lot in the playoffs. All or nothing at all w these two teams. Best wishes.

Good luck man. I manually scored my team, and assuming those are the only differences, you should also be at 101.10 for the week.

I'm feeling pretty good about advancing, especially since I don't even think 4,000 signed up based on the activity in this thread.

How did you come up with 101 from two players? Only top 2 players from each count right? Or did I miss something?

I come up with about 41 which still might be good enough.

I just realized that I missed this rule despite it being bolded  . Was thinking it was the same as the normal contest.

Should be 43.8 with Kelce and Chiefs D then.

You still might be alright. I'm guessing low ownership from GB MIN & WAS. SEA probably high ownership though along with PIT & CIN maybe. A low scoring game tonight will help you.

Last year's week 18 cut off was 50.5

Forgot about this, after getting in on Wednesday. Didn't think too hard about it, planned to finalize it today, but wasn't around to do anything about it.

5 Chiefs

6 Panthers

Thanks for the info...first time doing this one. May be closer than I thought. So far so good on the low scoring though.

I went all in on Vikings and Pitt.

Do I think it will happen? No, but I'll be a really happy Vikings fan with a great shot to win this thing if that's the Super Bowl matchup!

Edit: Really need Big Ben to be okay though.

Oh well. :kicksrock:

People are aware that you can only score two players from a single team the first three weeks, right?
Apparently a lot weren't. Not many rosters posted here but of those a good amount have players from just two teams. Should help thin the herd this week and next

Yeah, I totally missed that in my quick roster creation. And it's funny, because I've played this a few years in a row, but totally forgot.

Hey, at least I've got Crowder!

I have no players from the teams I expected to be one and done - Cincinnati, Houston, New England, Green Bay, Minnesota, and Carolina. New England and Green Bay have looked awful on offense lately. In the AFC I went with KC to win and Pittsburgh to be a factor. With three to consider in the NFC I went heavy on the one I expect will win it all - Seattle. I don't give the Packers much of a chance tonight minus Shields against a very hot Cousins. That sets up Carolina to have to play Seattle next week so I figure them to be gone. The only offenses I love are Pittsburgh and Arizona. Arizona spreads receptions around too much to lean on them and Brown simply was too expensive. I am betting on most games being defensive struggles which are decided by field goals and the top RBs and WRs being less important factors than in the regular season.

Roster

Kansas City: Ware, Kelce, Santos, Defense

Pittsburgh: Roethlisberger, Bryant, Boswell

Denver: Caldwell (had three dollars left over)

Seattle: Wilson, Michael, Lockette (he will heal before this is over), Hauschka, Defense

Arizona: Johnson, Defense

Washington: Reed

Total of 16 players/teams. At least 15 will be playing next week if Big Ben is a go.

IMO that's a good team to advance to the Super Bowl but not sure if it has enough Super Bowl players to win it. The challenge is to correctly identify which two teams are gong to be in the Super Bowl and load up on those players, yet keeping enough players from other teams to just squeek by in the early rounds. It's a difficult balance.

Possibly it wasn't a good idea to bank on the Seahawks (or Vikings). Players may not be available next week due to frostbite.

Have about 42 points right now with 4 players left.Hope to get enough to move on to next week. Thanks to Bengals self destruction the fun should continue for at least one more week.

Went with PIT vs SEA SB. Originally, I thought it was a good move, having wildcard teams go all the way. Then, after lock, I saw Dodds pick the exact same thing in the initial email sent out. I gotta have the chalk jest of chalk teams.

People are aware that you can only score two players from a single team the first three weeks, right?
Apparently a lot weren't. Not many rosters posted here but of those a good amount have players from just two teams. Should help thin the herd this week and next
Not even remotely aware. Too busy w life to read into the rules. Bad assumption thinking it was the same scoring model as the regular season subscriber contest. Kinda lost as to why this is the rule but whatever. No longer invest in my time knowing it is all luck anyway.
