Practicing your golf swing at work.... (1 Viewer)

Practicing your golf swing at work without a club. Is this really that big of a problem? I don't do it and have not encounter it at work. My 70 year old dad used to do it all the time.

I think the best thing to do would be to correct them while making fun of them. Bring them out in the open and ask them to swing again. Tell them their stance is wrong, they are swinging inside out ect........ In the end this is minor problem at work IMO.

Why is it a minor problem at all?

Bothers people is the co worker thread.

It's ok to practice your bowling delivery though, right? Asking for a friend. :oldunsure:

only slightly less annoying than the people who practice their yoga poses while the office coffee machine is making their coffee.

Yeah if you're actually having golf-related discussions with co-workers and your swing comes up, maybe then.

But if you're standing around talking work and you roll out your air-swing, you are a d00shbag, and likely in sales.

Oh. Seems like an odd thing to be bothered by. I don't do it, but it just seems like a good way to loosen up if you've been sitting for a while.

I was just looking for a nice swing builder club to use at work. Nice.

However i work at night with barely anyone around and generally get some serious downtime.

No way i do this if i was working during the day with more people around. And no way under any circumstance do i practice my swing without a club in my hands.

Before I did all home office, I kept wedges and a putter at the office. We would have target golf contests some days and play HORSE.

I put a Nerf hoop on the back of every door in my office. I also carry a small basketball with me at all times. If a co-worker is masochistic enough to try and pass through a doorway at the same time I do...BOOM...They get dunked on.

why do brohans get so worked up about what other people do i just do not get it do your thing and i will do mine and that is aok take that to the bank bromigos

I like to practice my broadsword parrying technique during downtime at the office. I don't have the sword there, I just pretend.
bromigo my wife and i watched great big swords and we laughed a lot because that guy is nuts they should get that big fat guy from moonshiners to be on that show that would make it even better take that to the bank brohans

Guy at work has a putter and balls in his office. I've been in discussions with him before where he'll just start practicing his putting mid conversation. Pretty unsettling, which I think may be the point.

While it probably doesn't really bother anyone, it is definitely good material to complain about at the FFA.

Not quite fake rage, more like fake bother.

We may look at a guy in the office for like a half second and think to ourselves "meh, why is that dude doing that", and that half second will turn into a 75 page thread about how bothered we are by it.

I once designed an office for a small construction company where they cored out the floor slab and created a nine hole putting course throughout their office. They would hold weekly tournaments in the winter when work was slow.

I would say that is pretty sweet, 1000x sweeter than an air swing

I have caught myself on occasion, but it's always been in my office. I can't imagine doing it with other people around.

it would be cool if other guys also practiced there things at work like chucking a bass lure or cross country skeeing or bowling or maybe if a guy was in to nascar and turning left he could practice swapping out a tire in less time than it takes to make popcorn that would be pretty sweet take that to the bank brohans

I practice my stiff arm/spin move off guys in the hallway. If they don't get a hand on me, then I shadow-spike.

Yes. It's annoying...as mentioned here...But I do really like your idea of what to do if you see someone doing it.

It's not so much that the action is annoying as I think it's kind of pretentious. Sort of a "look at me, I play golf" type thing. I guess I find people who are overly open with the fact that they play golf to typically be the type who want people to ask them lead-in's so they can brag about how good they are or the social circle they run in or what country club they belong to.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

[Guy just runs into the conference room an around the far side of the table, drops to one knee and pretends to change lug nuts on the chair, jumps up, runs to the other side, and does it again.]

I air swing all the time. Baseball or golf, depending on what I'm doing next. I don't even realize I'm doing it.

See, I'm somehow differentiating between air-swinging for fun, vs. air-swinging for form.

I have a buddy who likes to air-swing a baseball bat from time to time. It's usually just in the course of a conversation, he'll do it...but he's not practicing, he's goofing, as he'll make a [crack] noise, throw his arms up, make a crowd roar, and then act like he's trotting bases. I find swinging for fun a lot less pretentious than those folks who do it and act like they're practicing their perfect golf form.

I like to do the Ickey Shuffle in meetings when important points have been decided or when it is time for lunch.

Ah. Yeah I'm definitely not thinking about form. Generally it's just my subconscious way of manifesting my strong feeling that I'd rather be playing baseball or golf instead of doing whatever else it is that I'm doing.
