Preseason Game Observations (2 Viewers)

In the meantime MOP Pouncy whiffed a key block on that screen to Miller. If he blocks like he is paid to do Miller is off to the races.

Calm down....it's pre-season.

Anyone watching the rams game? See a few incomplete attempts to Austin. Bad throws or did he drop it?
he dropped one and one went over his head. Should have been a TD. Nothing to be concerned about.

One drop and one overthrow at the goal line

Bad throws though Bradford threw a nice deep ball to Givins.
OK, so Austin dropped one, maybe Bradford over compensates on the 2nd and we get the overthrow, sounds like Bradford was able to throw some pretty nice balls to other receivers.

Austin in 2013? I like Givens a lot more in 2013.

Does Pouncy play on the offense? Did that dip#### sport a Hernandez ballcap and then not apologize about it even though his older brother did so in Pitt?

What were we discussing? :)

You're reading too much into this - but I still agree with your conclusion. Bradford had him wide open running to the side of the field and just made a bad pass - maybe too excited when he saw how open he was, I dunno. The drop was a tough catch to make. Austin needs to figure out how to utilize his speed and shiftiness which may take some time. Looks a little undecided right now.

Nice pass n catch to Wallace, 2 on this drive, looks pretty although Tannehill looked like he wasn't trying, actually THill under threw it, should have been a TD to Wallace.

Finley looks good. As does denard Robinson. I wonder if he is being undervalued this year as a compliment to mjd? What would he do with 10-12 carries and 3-4 catches per game?

Peas is not making a great case for himself to unseat D-Rich with that 6-11 stat line.
I realize that reading the play-by-play doesn't give a ton of info, but it's tough to see how only having 1 rush 4 yards or longer and failing to punch it in from the 2 can be a good thing.

He isn't getting much help on some of his runs, and he isn't doing much on the others. He got no push on his goal line run.

any chance powell wins the starting job?
It will almost certainly take an Ivory injury for Powell to be relevant this year. NYJ got a good look at Powell during the second half of the season last year and still brought Ivory in.
he looks better than ivory out there and rex ryan has talked him up.
I'm a fan of Powell's, but at best you're looking at a timeshare as he's not someone NYJ would lean on unless they were absolutely forced to. He's an okay stash I just don't see a lot of upside here. He's an average back on a below average offense.

As an aside, does Chris Givens know how to catch a sub 50 yard pass?

Bump Lacy...seriously looks like a young Sjax out there.
Yeah, I can't view the game sadly and am really curious as to how he looks.
Good to see you again this season, you were one of my favs last year, always a good tell it like it is poster, can't get enough of those in here.
Thanks man, it's good to be back I'm super excited. I'll be looking forward to your write-ups again this year.

THill with a horrible overthrow to a wide open Hartline for a potential completion for a 1st down deep in miami territory on 3rd and long.

Go Phins!!!

We just lost Keller for the season.

Oh Jesus...knee was bent in badly.....blown out. Done. Golf cart coming out.

Unreal.

And the hit was straight at his knees. What a lousy dirty hit.

Sanchez is brutal.
Yes. Yes he is. The end of the 1st half the Jets had 1st and goal from the 3 and came away with no points as the half expired. Sanchez held the ball far too long and let the clock run out. Incomplete to the endzone and no time to line up for a kick.

ETA: He also had a receiver wide open in the endzone and chose to run it instead. Tackled at the 1 and they had to call their last time out.

I hate to be the opportunist but let's start getting real about this offense, it just took a major hit. Vertical threat at TE on offense, nada now. I'm kinda stunned right now to be honest, really didn't expect that to happen, really sucks.

His first carry was a nice run for 11 yards. The 6 yard loss wasn't on him since he was tackled as soon as he touched the ball. Still, even without that play 8 for 20 is nothing to write home about.

Geno locked up the job by not even playing.

(Not joking)

How much of the Keller injury was THill putting the ball behind him causing him to twirl or swirl, opening him up to injury?...just asking
It was a low hit straight at his knees.

Sweep the leg. Do you have a problem with that.

Alright, I'll go with that

Daniel Thomas is finally showing something.

Hartline drops an easy 6

Lamar Miller TD.....kid is so damn fast.

Gus Bradley also totally screwed with Rex' mind. 3rd and goal from 2 - pass incomplete. 6 seconds left.

Bradley ACCEPTS the illegal shift penalty and makes Rex decide whether to kick or go with 6 seconds left with 3rd and goal from 7.

Dolphins TE Dustin Keller was carted off the field during Saturday night's preseason game with a right knee injury.
Texans rookie S D.J. Swearinger unloaded on Keller's right knee following a short reception. Keller's knee bent back awkwardly and he was in obvious pain on the ground, cussing before the cart came out. It'll be a shame if Keller's season is over, because he was betting on himself with a one-year contract. Keller had also shown excellent chemistry with Ryan Tannehill in August.

Miller scores but would caution those that see this as a major plus.

Wallace did have a nice block on the play.
MOP....Miller is a future star bro. Come on. Matter of time.....when the regular season gets going....he will be fed.
I think that Keller injury is going to be huge, really noting at TE unless Clay can put it together.
Yeah, Keller has been some serious value in early drafts, hope hes ok.

Sorry for Dustin Keller, season over

It looked bad kelly, we saw it first hand on the local cast, was not good. he threw off his helmet, spit out the mouth guard, not a good sign. i would bet on a possible season ender but hope for the best as a Phinsfan. Awful for the development of THill who had a great connection with him in camp. 5-11, believe it baby.

Often though Keller was the only guy trying on the Jets offense. Seems like a good guy and a hard worker. Sucks to see him hurt.
