LJ is not a better rb than Priest Holmes.
Have you watched either of the Chiefs games this year? Right now, LJ is CLEARLY the better back. As the season goes on, you will see the ratio of carries swing LJ's way, as even Vermeil will have to admit to himself the LJ is the better back(which he probably already knows, but feels he has to show his loyalty to Priest)
:lmao: That was fantastic.

You're entire argument is, "Nuh-uh! LJ is better! Nuh-uh!"

Spare us.
What did you want, some stats? OKIn 2004, LJ averaged 4.8 YPC, Holmes 4.6. Also, like i edited into my previous post, LJ caught more passes, for more yards and more yards per catch in less playing time than Holmes.

2005, LJ is averaging 8.4 YPC, and Holmes is at 3.9.

What could you back up your argument with supporting Holmes is better than LJ?
See above for my argument.8.4 YPC is quite possible as a sample size error with just 18 carries...but I can do that math later if you want.

Hey, you could be right...but this has just turned into a 3rd grade shouting match. If you're not going to reply with substance, why are you replying? That's my point.

I havnt read most of the posts in this thread, so i was not even replying to anything i read here. I was just pointing out my feelings on the situation after watching last nights game, which was not stat based, just what i think based on how they both looked.

The conclusion I have drawn and it is just my opinion based on what I am seeing is that KC is determined to use both guys and hopefully have them both healthy come playoff time. Yes this is RBBC and it is concerning. On the other hand KC RBBC is far better than any other team and both Priest and LJ will have respectable numbers. By the way, I own neither of these guys on any of my teams.

Another week of :ptts: for LJ pimps.

If those are what you call "respectable" numbers, good luck this year.
I don't call what Priest is doing is respectable.. He is FAR from his 1st round and top 5 pick draft position.. LJ is the better back PERIOD.. Yet there is a seniority thing that will take time to unseat Priest. Look at Faulk it was a slow process with him..

Priest put up good numbers for me today. I don't know what game you watched.

Is this serious?Hes had 80 and a td in 3 out of 4 weeks.

OMG this from Priest. A barely top 10 RB currently and you think all is well and good for a guy taken top 5??

As a Priest owner, i was really happy today. The Eagle's Run D is solid, and he ripped thru them even without Willy Roaf. LJ looked bad for the second week in a row...and fumbled for the second week in a row. For whatever reason, Priest even looked more explosive today than he has all year.

Yea I was happy too. A little disappointing not getting to 100, after that start, but he still gave me a nice score and Im on my way to a 3-1 record

You are obviously not watching these games... Priest is the much better back even at this stage in his career... They are clearly missing something on offense when he goes out of the game... If you have watched all the Chiefs games there is no way you would say LJ is the better back period... Just a ridiculous comment..

Priest looks better, no doubt about it. LJ needs better blocking than Priest, who can make something out of nothing. If LJ gets a hole, he's gone, and this is where he's much more explosive than the Padre. Once Roaf gets back LJ will look better, but he's just not as elusive as Priest.

I have watched Holmes and he has no where near the burst LJ has when he hits holes. I guess its a lot of people trying to justify his 1st round selection but after 4 games I can honestly tell you he's not even close... In my league he's had 14/14/9/16 FP after 4 weeks.. You think thats good for a top 5 pick??? Thats a 1/10 league 6 for TD.

This is ridiculous. Priest has GREATER vision and elusiveness than LJ and it is OBVIOUS unless u dont want to see that. You can put Michael Johnson in the backfield but if he doesnt have the ability to know where the hole his who cares how fast he is. Priest had more pep in his step today and when Willie Roaf gets back this nonsense will end.LJ is getting those touches JUST as a safety measure. If the Chiefs had Ron Dayne, he too would probably get LJs touches just to reduce the risk of injury for Priest. He's still performing at a high level. He just hasnt put up Superhuman numbers. Relax.

To be honest...I've seen worse.

Just got Priest for Thomas Jones in my 14-team money league (also downgraded from Steelers D to Pats D) :banned:

Spoken like a true Priest owner.. Well done.. Super Human Numbers? I think I would be happy with 1st round pick numbers. I am not saying he is a bust just will not justify his top 5 pick status..Edit: I still think he will get hurt before the end of the year also. ;)

Yup. And yours is spoken like a true Priest hater. 1st round pick means consistency and reliability. Take Peyton Manning for example. People were hopping off the wagon after 3wks of "NON - 1st ROUND NUMBERS" as you would put it. Week 4 what does he do? We all know by now.

Everyone has a side on this like voting so im not trying to convince anyone but he def. not a bust and is reliable when healthy as anyone in game.

What is your top 5? id like to just see.

You're a Raider fan so i expect you to think he will get hurt LOL :P

A guy who splits as much as Holmes does, WILL NOT get enough carries to rank even top 10 overall.. BTW I have Manning and it would take more then a few weeks to think he's going to be a bust.. He's also not at the age of a downward trend either. Now we talking RB's I guess

LT

Alexander

James

McAllister

Jordan (Just kidding)

Barber

I think Priest will get hurt cause its his trend and age..

I stole candy from a bady too...you don't see me bragging about it here though.
Welcome to the board, rookie. Here's my first piece of advice: http://www.dictionary.com

You're welcome
So I'll no longer be a rookie when my posts in the shark pool consist of sharing how I duped some idiot to trade Holmes for Jones? You sir are an inspiration to all of us.

Again... there are only 5 players in the entire NFL who will justify a top-5 selection. Good luck figuring out who they are going to be.You can't win your league in the first round- but you sure can lose it. The goal is to pick an RB who will finish the season in the top 10. If I pick an RB in the top 5 and he finishes in the top 10, then I am happy with that selection.

Hahaha, what a joke! Do you even READ the responses to your posts? I've seen at least 3 different times when someone has pointed out to you that Priest Holmes has gotten as many touches THIS SEASON as he did LAST SEASON and the SEASON BEFORE. And I don't think anyone will argue that the number of touches were fully sufficient to turn in a top 10 overall season then. You're talking out your backside.

Edit: I still think he will get hurt before the end of the year also. ;)
More likely scenario than Priest getting hurt is LJ fumbling his way out of his part time gig. He runs too upright and doesn't protect the ball.

:goodposting: Having a Top 5 back is lagniappe. Picking a back that finishes outside of the top 10 - 12, depending on the size of your league, is the killer.
