Hicks- 14 for 42 yards, 1 Catch for 7 yards

Robinson- 10 for 47 yards, 5 catches for 38 yards

In PPR, Robinson is the spot start, not Hicks.

I think Hicks could surprise here so I'll go:

Hicks 15-71-1 rushing/3-31-0 receiving

Robinson 9-33-0 rushing/3-22-0 receiving

Robinson was awful in GL situations. His #s were amongst the worst inthe NFL last year. You are right though; if the Niners ever get inside the 5 this week, he'll get the call...though I'd love to see Host actually run a few play action roll outs with Smith to VD.

I could be wrong, but I think that Norv was also the OC last year. Things have changed pretty drastically since last year (just look at Gores numbers). Have we really gotten a feel for what they do in GL situations this year without Gore in the lineup?

Frank Gore is inactive Sunday against the Falcons.Impact: Gore will be replaced by a combination of Maurice Hicks and Michael Robinson. Both make serviceable flex gambles, but Robinson should get more action and is the favorite for touches near the goal line. He'll also play on third downs.

Impact: His owners need to prepare as if he's not playing - we'll find out around noon. Maurice Hicks will probably start if Gore is out, with Michael Robinson getting backup duties. We'd actually take Robinson if we had to pick one because of his goal-line potential.

With all that said, wouldn't you guys say Robinson is a better start??? For me, I hope it's Hicks

It was a run from inside the 10 yard line (the 9 to be exact). In order to be goal line does it need to be inside the 5? Perhaps the 1? Either way, I will take it for a one week start.

It was the opposite of what I expected. Robinson lined up as the feature back the entire first series until they got inside the 10 and Hicks got the carry. WTF knows this year with Hostler.
