QB Aaron Rodgers, PIT (2 Viewers)

I love this weekly Roto feature. Worthwhile reading for any FF owner.

  • Last week was the first time in Aaron Rodgers' career that he failed to throw for at least 100 yards in a game with at least 20 pass attempts.
[*]Rodgers has just one 300-yard passing game on the season, the same amount as Alex Smith and Luke McCown.
[*]Rodgers hasn’t been a top-10 scoring quarterback since Week 3. The highest quarterback finish against Carolina this season has been QB14 by Russell Wilson.

I've got Rivers and Rodgers in one league, and I may, for the first time in years (dynasty league) be benching Rodgers.

Everyone realizes Brady has had many many many ####ty games?

10/10/2004 - 7 of 19, 76 yards, 2TD, 1INT

12/10/2006 - 12 of 25, 78 yards, 0TD, 0INT

10/07/2001 - 12 of 24, 86 yards, 0TD, 0INT

How many years had Rodgers been Starter? Oh that's right 8 years and he has never even had 1 game under 142 yards passing.

If your benching Rodgers but I am sorry you have no clue what your doing. Even if Rodgers goes out and has a dud your getting 150 yards, 1TD, 0INT at a bare minimum but more likely 200 yards, 2TD, 0INT and that's if he has a bad game.

He had had under 200 yards 18 times in 8 years when playing most of the game and not getting knocked out and 3 of those 18 games he threw for 3 TDs....

Pretty much the only way I could bench Rodgers was if I had Brady.

At Carolina this week. Worth benching for a better option imo. Don't know that I have a better option.
If I can scoop Carr off the waiver wire, I'll seriously consider sitting Rodgers this week.
You guys are freaking crazy. 300/3 is a lock this week.
Not saying its impossible but he has gone over 300 yards once this year. I'll take the under.
Through 7 games last season 302 and 342 were the only games over 300 yards. 6 of the next 9 games were over 300 yards....

Rodgers is one of the best QBs of all time and at the top of his game. If you don't have faith against Carolina his schedule isn't very good for the playoffs so you should be trading now.

Wouldn't trade him even if I could, but its not just Rodgers its no nelson and too much eddie "porky pig" lacey (don't hate me I'm only the messenger) not too mention a banged up cobb, sub par play on the o-line; adams & jones, are they really all that and a bag of chips? I love rodgers, he is as good as it gets, but they r struggling a bit right now so i don't think it is sacrilege to think about sitting him this week. Hell, I'm considering playing winston over him; not saying I will, but I might ;)

Your definition of "interesting" is a little different then mine. It must be a hippy thing.
whould you rather i not have posted it?
I know some college-age hippy-ish beta male dorks that participate in this. They always complain of getting poison oak while fishing their frisbees out of the rough, beacause their too dumb to know how to identify and avoid poison oak. It's played by same type of guys that play hackey-sack. Pretty sure some kids at UC Santa Cruz invented it as a protest of the male dominated and culturally oppressive game of real golf. Totally stupid game, IMO. Doesn't surprise me that Rodgers plays and is a fan.

You are a moron. All types of people play disc golf, from pothead college kids to blue collar guys who just want to get away and drink some beers with their buddies to white collar guys. The level of seriousness is different for each individual as well, for some it's a competitive activity and for others it's a casual form of relaxation.

Sorry I was a little conservative. 369/4.

I'm surprised after watching Luck carve up Carolina late and after the rain let up, that others wouldn't notice the opportunity.

Game script helped for sure as much of it came late. Not complaining as I had him in there. Now Lacy on the other hand..

A truly horrific and stupid throw at the end of the fist half for 40, and about 80 yards on screen passes when the Panthers were protecting a big lead certainly helped his numbers yesterday.

That's been the end of pretty much every Panthers game this year.

Teams run like crazy on us the first 3/4s of the game but the defense comes up with big plays to keep them out of the end zone.

Carolina points allowed by quarter 2.8 (5th), 4.9 (8th), 5.9 (24th), 6.8 (15th)

 - not in my neck of the woods. Fishing is an activity for guys who just want to get away and drink some beers with their buddies. So is real golf. If you need toss an object at a target try horseshoes or bocce. Real men don't disc golf.

Do real men play professional football?

Weird how 369/4 shuts up the naysayers. Last week at this time he was the worst QB ever.

This has to be the first time anyone has pounded their chest to the tune of 'real golf' being a macho sport.

You realize he is pretty good at real golf too right...oh yeah, and football.

Nobody called him the worst ever...take his advice and R-E-L-A-X.

Oh, and puffing your chest up after that game? Final numbers look fine when you just look at yards and TDs.

How about the %. How about how the offense looked for much of that game until later?

And the INT he admits was bad and he missed Cobb who was open.

He did not play a great game...

No one cares if the QB wins or loses and his completion percentage in fantasy.

I have also heard more than a few people on this site reference he didnt do anything until later.

They play 60 minutes, all 60 count, even at the very end. Even plays with one second left, they all count.

Just becaucse he didnt throw 3 TDs in the first half has nothing to do with anything.

The context of this thread was not just about fantasy.

So as a real NFL QB...not doing much til late was not good for the team. That and the defense sucking put them in a huge hole that they were unable to dig out of.

I'd like to see Aaron start getting rid of the ball. He just holds and holds and holds and holds and holds and holds it. Packers need to call a slant once in a while.

:lmao:

As a Bears fan, i actively root against 2 teams. The Packers - honestly because I was pretty much born with that. Second is the Patriots. That one was learned - basically because the team is a bunch of damn cheaters and their fans take every opportunity to be annoying and try to convince people that Brady is the GOAT. Solid work up in here.

#Packers Film: you wonder how clearly Rodgers is seeing things right now. Very few cases of getting rid of the ball at the top of his drop.

#Packers Film: Rodgers not as precise as usual in ball placement. If you’d never seen him play, you’d think bizarre footwork obvious cause.

Rotoworld:

Aaron Rodgers has never had a 300-yard passing game against a Mike Zimmer-coached defense.

Rodgers swept the Vikings last year, but has two losses in four appearances against Zimmer. Playing through a shoulder injury and coming off a game where he averaged 5.5 YPA, Rodgers is more of a mid-range QB1 and DFS fade. The Vikings have given up just 11 pass touchdowns and are allowing the eighth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks.

As an actor, Peyton Manning is light years ahead of Rodgers... Discount Double Check my A##!

How about some extra discount double check downs to Cobb today?

So have there been any conclusions in here about what has been wrong with the Packers offense and whether there is any prospect they return back to their high scoring ways soon?

Is it no Jordy? The line? The lack of run game? Hard to believe their best offensive since week 2 has been vs the Panthers, how does that make sense?

Maybe it's as simple as their having run against a string of really good defenses? Even Detroit has had some fine performances recently vs Seattle and Oakland. - The one I couldn't figure was San Diego.
