QB Caleb Williams, CHI (1 Viewer)

Kevin Fishbain
Bears offensive coordinator Shane Waldron on Caleb Williams throwing on the run: "It's something that he's been able to do at such a high level for so many years. We don't want to hold back on that ability that he has."

I am expecting 30 passing TD or I don't understand what all the hype is about.

You've got just as good of a supporting cast as any other QB in the league. If you're the next big thing, give me 30 passing TD, Hollywood.

From the free FBG article above:
  • The Bears have NEVER had a 4,000-yard passer
  • Chicago has NEVER had a 30-touchdown passer
  • The team has never attempted 600 passes
  • The Bears have never averaged 8.0 yards per attempt

Dude is still a rookie. Manning threw 26, I want to see continual improvement, processing, and QB IQ and the ability to lead his team to wins. Anything above and beyond that THIS SEASON is gravy.

The bears have never had three WR and two TE with the talent they do now.

Caleb might fall short and still have a successful year. But those marks are absolutely in reach.

Wow. He is special.

Wow. He is special.
They started the game with three straight three-and-outs, we will see when the real bullets start flying in regular season. There is no denying his arm talent however, exciting times for Bear’s fans. I still cannot believe Carolina traded what they did for the first overall pick, franchise altering move for Chicago. Not hearing too many people still say they would rather have Fields any longer.

There was an incompletion in the end zone that wasn't on the stat line, that was special as well.

He could be entering his senior year in college, and he's casually faking out defenders after a month of practice. Two years younger than Daniels and Nix.

Clearly, it's too early to say he's this or that. But this is exactly what special looks like in August.

He does look good. He's getting close to catching up to Rypien.

He excelled as a freshman, since being thrown into the middle of a game. Last year, his top 2 WRs were Taj & Brenden, 7th round draft picks. He has a top 15 oline, top 5 receiving options, why is his ADP lower than J Daniels, about 15 vs 12. It should be reversed. BTW, Wilson looked very good in preseason 3 years ago.

ADP for Daniels is propped up by his rushing ability...and he's looked arguably just as good in training camp.

all-22, Caleb Williams vs Buffalo, preseason week 1.

His highlights look awesome showcasing those magician skills. But I think we already knew that about him. The all-22 is less impressive in my opinion.
Take a look at JT O'Sullivan's analysis at The QB School. He largely agreed, but most of the things he knocks Caleb for are rookie mistakes. Some key takeaways are Caleb is processing things quickly, having some minor footwork issues, and, like we all know, is a magician off-script. I'm hopeful Bears fans will temper expectations this season with Caleb because I expect the typical rookie ups and downs.

For sure, it won't be boring either way.

Carolina had the worst GM ever with "Fitterer" who basically ruined a great franchise in less than 5 years. Got rid of all of our best players, and traded away all our picks for absolutely nothing. Dude should have been "fired" before he ever got hired lol

I'm failing to understand why Caleb isn't ranked/his ADP is closer to Daniels?

Chicago could be sneaky good. The D was much improved down the stretch last year. Could hand the ball over to this offense frequently. And if the offensive coordinator smartens up and gets Odunze on the field more, there's a lot of offensive potential.

And he's not too bad running the ball either.

I think people are expecting Daniels to run a lot. Like 600-800 yards and a bunch of TDs.

Not sure how realistic that is but I'm guessing that's part of the reason. Also, the Bears having a good defense may make people think they'll be involved in more low scoring games.

The Bears offense looks much better from a passing perspective.

I think the Bears are going to make some serious noise this year.

Kind of a tough division with Detroit & Green Bay but, yes they may surprise.

Pencil him in for 30 TD and 4,000 yards. If we know the stats, golden boy definitely does. At this point, I have his ceiling at 36 TD / 4,200 with a chance for some gravy rushing yards and rushing TD to boot. He's a generational talent. Bears fans hit the jackpot.

I hope this happens. Rooting for the kid, but that’s a pretty lofty “pencil in” bro.

Maybe your after the bar posting needs to be reeled in just a tad.

Stay safe

brave prediction. but if hes the real deal it can happen. he certainly has enough weapons in the offense to make it happen.

What's is Caleb Williams ceiling? If everything goes PERFECT. How many yards and touchdowns does he throw?
PERFECT??? 10k and 100tds prob.
Thing is, if it's PERFECT, every time the opponent has the ball, they will throw a pick-six. Caleb will never have a shot to do anything except for the first drive of either the first or second half. But should get a 50 to 80 yard TD instantly. So I'll project 1200 yds and 17 TD's if everything goes perfect.
