QB Daniel Jones, IND (4 Viewers)

The Miami Defense just became a strong week one streamer
That will be the week he fools us and performs well, don’t be fooled.
I may be a fool to believe he would fool us and perform well. I'm not fooling around. Stream Miami Defense week one. In Daniel I believe.

Starting Pittman with unbridled confidence
Starting Jones with confidence. This is the best situation he's been in and will add points in the run game. That doesn't mean that I won't also be streaming Miami.

Daniel Jones completed 22-of-29 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown in a 33-8, Week 1 win over the Dolphins, adding 26 yards rushing and two rushing touchdowns.

Jones didn’t hit many big gainers, except for a 27-yard touchdown pass to Michael Pittman Jr., but he consistently went through his progressions and gained chunk yards against this beat-up Dolphin secondary. The threat of a running game and a strong offensive line helped Jones, but he also found Tyler Warren over the middle a bunch and looked poised all game long. We wouldn’t expect this kind of production against a much healthier and stingier Broncos defense next week, which means Jones remains just an option in two-quarterback leagues.

Started him over Goff.

Still old school and can't spend on a QB even though I know the evidence says otherwise.

But I've seen Steichen make poor passers that can run into fantasy stars. Some young kids don't remember Jalen's rookie year.

Technically that was his sophomore year. His rookie year, he was a backup for most of the season, after which Doug Pedersen and his staff was fired.

Am I grasping at straws picking him up for $6 in a 14 teamer and starting him over Maye?

Or are we going back to good-for-fantasy-again Daniel Jones?

While I'm at it: Sorry Daniel Jones. I've been vicious to you in this forum and elsewhere.

No way I would start him against that Denver defense and expect a repeat of week 1. I suspect he'll come back down to Earth this week. I own him as well but he is firmly planted on my bench this week.

I think the people that need to start Jones this week do so due to injury or they took this wait on a QB in draft strategy way to far.
You are 100% correct.

But superflex changes that stance pretty drastically. 12 team superflex league… the best available QB on the wire is :checks watch: Rattler. That’s it.
I always forget super flex leagues.
I could write a thesis on them. And I do every year,

Long story short, only way to play, where quarterbacks actually matter.

Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.

In my 35 years of this nerdy hobby I've never played in a superflex. I know I would enjoy it. Thanks for the talk.

This is what has happened through out Jones entire career. When he faces a bottom ten defense he is Josh Allen. When he faces a semi competitive defense be becomes Blake Bortles.

Mia might have the worst team in the league. Jones looked amazing. Denver is going to eat him alive.

Yeah there is some truth to this. Denver secondary is light years better than Miami. Will be interesting to see how Jones fares this week, but would prefer to watch that with him on the bench.

In my Superflex league, with Purdy out I have to start either Jones or Bryce Young. :kicksrock:

I'm "helping" my girlfriend manage her $20 office fantasy team. She's never played before but has "always wanted to learn".

Today she sends me a screenshot of the player scoring leaderboard on Sleeper with the text: 'Think we should pick up this Daniel Jones guy? Looks like he's got huge scoring potential'

She's not wrong
Garbage time points are still points. It’s how Blake Bortles was briefly a viable fantasy QB.

He could be this year's Sam Darnold - not saying their styles are similar, but someone who everyone dismissed but then found success in the right situation and the right offensive system that fit their strengths. Colts looked pretty decent last week and he's got a real supporting cast now, albeit it was against Miami but I suspect this offense is better than people think. Denver will be a great barometer this week. I'm buying now while the cost is low, basically free.

Would you prefer him, Penix, Lawrence or Geno? Need a Purdy replacement.
Penix. But honestly I'd also pick up Mac Jones. He put up serviceable numbers replacing TLaw, Shannahan wanted to draft him to begin with over Trey Lance, and I have a feeling Purdy is going to be closer to the 5 of the supposed 2-5 week timetable. SF has a reasonably soft schedule defensively over that time too. Meanwhile Jones has Denver this week, and IMO a much improved Titans D next week.
