QB Daniel Jones, IND (5 Viewers)

Daniel Jones completed 24-of-35 attempts of 266 yards and zero touchdowns in the Giants' 17-14 loss to the Falcons, adding eight carries for an additional 39 yards. 

The Giants lost both Darius Slayton and Sterling Shepard to hamstring injuries during the game. With Kenny Golladay also limited in this game and Evan Engram not at full health, Jones struggled to consistently connect downfield. He added 39 yards on the ground, and had another 14 yards called back due to a holding penalty. Jones will need his weapons to get healthy to be in the low-end QB1 mix against the Saints in Week 4.

Daniel Jones has attempted a downfield pass on 5.7 percent of his 2021 attempts, the lowest rate in the NFL. 

It's the same old, same old for Jones and the Giants. Jason Garrett's hyper-conservative passing offense has produced a grand total of two pass attempts of more than 20 yards through three weeks. Jones completed one of those two passes for 38 yards. In 2020, Jones had a 9.6 percent deep throw rate, the eighth lowest in the league. The near-total lack of downfield aggression serves as a hard cap on the upside of prized free agent signing Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton, who left Sunday's game with a potentially serious hamstring injury.

Daniel Jones was carted off against the Cowboys after a helmet-to-helmet hit. 

On a bootleg at the one yard line, Jones was tackled by two Dallas defenders -- of of whom met Jones helmet to helmet. Jones appeared woozy after being helped to his feet and was immediately taken to the New York locker room. Having already lost Saquon Barkley to an ankle injury in the first quarter, the Giants offense is now anchored by Mike Glennon and Devontae Booker: A nightmare scenario by any standard.

Hope he’s well. Dude looked like Otis the Drunk when he got up. He’s a competitor but he’s got to know when to slide and give up or just step out and take the field goal. He’s too good to be leading with his head and end up shelved for a few games for NY. Scary moments for sure. Unfortunate for a great player like DJ.

That said, I don't wish that kinda thing on anyone and hope he's okay.

He just seemed to be getting better with what he had to work with. Giants offense is pretty bad for sure. Either way, you can’t dive head first into players when you are the QB. All I’m saying...

He started the game 0 for 10.  Was he getting better than his first years in the league?   Sure.   But his first years in the league were Nathan Peterman-esq.

And no, he can't lead with his head as a rusher.  But he should have known that since pee-wee.

 
Daniel Jones (concussion) is not practicing Wednesday.

Jones was described by HC Joe Judge as "on track with everything." Things are so on track, apparently, that NJ.com's Zack Rosenblatt shared video of Jones throwing passes, reporting that Jones was taking snaps before practice as well. As an "observer" in the concussion protocol, Jones' active participation is concerning, yet a clear indication that the Giants want him out on the field this Sunday. Jones being cleared to play would go a long way in making the Giants competitive against the formidable Rams. Saquon Barkley and Kenny Golladay were also unable to practice Wednesday and are far less likely to be able to suit up Sunday. Jones would be a QB2 in this matchup but can help to facilitate the continued emergence of Kadarius Toney.

Generally speaking, I believe it's rare for players to miss a game following a concussion the prior week - although this one looked bad.

All jokes aside it's similar to the Dallas game where there will be volume. But this defense is decent so lets see if he can capitalize

Daniel Jones completed 29-of-51 passes for 242 yards and three interceptions in the Giants' 38-11, Week 6 loss to the Rams.

Jones also lost a fumble after getting stripped in the pocket in the first half. He added just four yards on the ground. It was a horrible outing for Jones in a number of ways. His play was poor and the Rams had a read on his throws all day. He also lost his left tackle Andrew Thomas to an ankle injury early in the game and took four sacks. On top of that, Kadarius Toney and C.J. Board, who was going to play meaningful reps, both left the game with injuries. The bulk of Jones' fantasy production came on two throwaway drives at the end of the game. The Giants ran the ball twice on their final pair of drives, generating 20 Jones pass attempts. Jones gets a difficult matchup with the Panthers next week. Carolina entered Week 6 allowing the fewest passing yards per game. Jones will be a middling QB2 option against their stout secondary.

Daniel Jones completed 23-of-33 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' 25-3, Week 7 win over the Panthers.

Jones tacked on 28 yards as a runner. The Panthers were unable to mount a functional offense and didn't push New York to keep the gas pedal down. It was an uneventful day for the young passer until the Giants dialed up a trick play that saw Dante Pettis throwing a back-shoulder pass to Jones, who reeled in the toss with one hand. Jones has just one game with over 300 passing yards or multiple touchdowns through the air but does get a juicy matchup with the Chiefs next week. Normally a high-end QB2, Jones will jump into the back-half of the QB1 ranks versus Kansas City.

Daniel Jones completed 22-of-32 passes for 222 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Giants' 20-17, Week 8 loss to the Chiefs.

He added 12 rushing yards on five attempts on the ground. Jones tried to spring the upset over the Chiefs but "guided" a horrendous two-minute drill at the end of the first half and took a [two] horribly untimely sack on the final drive to put the Giants in 3rd-and-15 before a pair of incompletions to seal the loss. Jones' touchdowns in this one were one- and five-yard hookups with TEs Kyle Rudolph and Evan Engram. The Rudolph one came on fourth down, and the Engram one was a perfect throw to the outside shoulder. Jones has played a lot better this season, but he still makes mistakes. It would be nice to see him get to play with his full supporting cast sometime, but the Giants can't get or stay healthy. Sterling Shepard (quad) was hurt again in this one. Jones gets a Week 9 date with the Raiders where he'll be a higher-end QB2.

Daniel Jones completed 15-of-20 passes for 110 yards and a touchdown in the Giants' 23-16, Week 9 win over the Raiders.

The Giants' game plan revolved around establishing Devontae Booker in a revenge-game spot and limiting Daniel Jones to low target-depth throws. Booker saw 20 carries before exiting with a hip injury and the New York tight ends and running backs combined for 13 targets. Jones had attempted at least 32 passes in every game he finished before this week so it was a sharp turn for the offense. The run-heavy script was partly prompted by the Raiders' posting just 16 points but it's at least a little concerning for Jones' fantasy outlook. He should be able to turn things around versus the Buccaneers, who have faced over 40 pass attempts per game this year. Jones will clock in as a high-end QB2 when he returns from the Giants' bye in Week 11.

Daniel Jones completed 23-of-38 passes for 167 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions in the Giants' 30-10, Week 11 loss to the Bucs Monday night.

Outside of a disastrous Week 6 against the Rams, this was easily Jones' worst game of the season, and it came on national television in ugly fashion. Jones and the Giants marched down the field on the opening possession only to stall in the red zone before settling for a field goal. It was all bad after that, as Jones' touchdown was a gift via a Mike Evans drop that goes on the books as a Tom Brady interception. It was returned inside the 10-yard line, and Jones tossed a two-yard score to LT Andrew Thomas on a trick play to finish it off. Jones' two interceptions were truly idiotic throws. One was right to NT Steve McLendon with no Giants player in the vicinity, and the second a forced pass to Darius Slayton. This was Jones' second multi-INT game of the year. He'll try to forget it and move on to a Week 12 home game against the Eagles as a middling QB2.

SVP was just saying he's 0-8 in Prime Time games and that he's rivaling Jeff George in that department.  That was not the least bit surprising; he clearly doesn't have the head for this. Besides the inaccuracy, the panic in key moments never stops.  That can't be taught, it's clear by now, not in this case.

I've actually watched a lot of him too, especially last year.  It's hard to believe he still starts but I assume the Giants don't want to admit the big mistake in the first place, yet which now only compounds the problem.  And I kind of liked the Giants, actually,

I love how they've paired him with Jason Garrett, as if that would be the answer.  The same  under-achieving, overly conservative coach who couldn't manage the clock?  Not Princeton or Duke's finest.  Bizarre.

 
They key to any QB (besides talent) is being developed by good Coaching and right now that does not appear to be happening with Jones (I am so unimpressed with this coaching staff)...Jones looks like he has some talent but right now he is still looks like a rookie and some of his mistakes are just totally unacceptable...add in a porous O-line and it is a recipe for not being developed correctly...kind of getting near the breaking point for him and if they continue with the same coaching staff next year I think he will turn into one of those Ryan Fitzpatrick QBs where he will flash but never really be good enough for a team to commit to.

 
If he was a smart man, Dave Gettleman would be updating his resume.    

He rolled the dice with Daniel Jones and Jason Garrett, and came up snake eyes.    

 
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Giants QB Daniel Jones suffered a strained neck in Week 12 that could jeopardize his Week 13 availability.

This explains why the Giants poached Jake Fromm from the Bills' practice squad earlier today. Mike Glennon would likely get the starting nod if Jones can't go on Sunday, which would be a sizable hit to all Giants players for fantasy purposes. Fantasy players will need to monitor injury reports throughout the week to gauge Jones' likelihood of suiting up against a beatable Dolphins secondary.

Daniel Jones (neck) will practice on Wednesday and is not yet ruled out for Week 13 against the Dolphins.

Speaking Wednesday, Joe Judge told reporters that he expects Jones to practice all week. He went on to say that he does not believe Jones' neck injury will be season ending. The Giants signed Jake Fromm, so there is clearly concern that Jones will not be available for Sunday. At the same time, if Jones can get in a full week of practice, it remains possible that he ultimately starts against the Dolphins. Jones is facing a difficult matchup against a blitz-heavy Miami defense if he goes. It still seems most likely that Mike Glennon will be under center in Week 13.

Prolly DJ wants to play but the team has nothing to play for and want to give Glennon a shot lol 

 
Daniel Jones (neck) is out for Week 13 against the Dolphins. 

Giants head coach Joe Judge said Jones has not been cleared for contact by the team's medical staff. This comes after Judge and offensive coordinator Freddie Kitchens expressed optimism Jones would practice this week and suit up against Miami. Mike Glennon will take over for Jones, making the Dolphins the week's premiere defensive option in fantasy leagues. Glennon in Week completed 64 percent of his passes against the Cowboys after Jones exited with a brain injury. Glennon threw two picks and a touchdown against Dallas. He's not startable outside the deepest supeflex leagues. Everyone in New York's stale, unproductive offense gets a downgrade with Jones sidelined.

i think he is barely roster-able in 12 team start 1 qb, 24 man roster dynasty leagues.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports the Giants are not expected to place Daniel Jones (neck) on injured reserve.

Jones is out for Sunday's game but the Giants will keep him available week-to-week. His neck injury isn't considered season ending but Jones could end up missing multiple games. Mike Glennon will make at least one spot start in place of Jones against Miami this week, with Jake Fromm backing him up.
