QB Derek Carr, Retired (6 Viewers)

As one of the biggest Carr trashers here, I gotta say, dude is balling out.

Kinda irritating. He knows we all drafted Rattler and are rooting against him.

Chase Daniel
The Saints secret sauce is they are going old school!

▪️Under Center 70% of time (Tops in NFL)
▪️Play Action rate of 47% of time (Tops NFL)

Have the Saints finally unlocked Derek Carr under Klimt Kubiak?

Let’s go to film room to break it down @TheFacilityFS1

Killing it!!

I am sure he will keep it up. I heard it takes most QBs 10 years to really find their groove.
Yeah, I mean could it just be that Carolina is awful and Dallas made it easy by not really trying to stop the run? Play action works incredibly well when you run it for 8 yards a carry.

Put this guy in 3rd and 8. Watch him crumble.

Rotowire) Rattler is viewed as a "strong candidate" to start Sunday against the Buccaneers with Derek Carr (oblique) expected to miss multiple games, Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.
Analysis: A rookie fifth-round pick out of South Carolina, Rattler has yet to make his NFL debut, as he's been inactive as the Saints' No. 3 quarterback behind Carr and Jake Haener through the team's first five games. Though it was Haener who entered in relief of the injured Carr for the final possession of Monday's 26-13 loss to the Chiefs, the Saints may be inclined to turn the offense over to Rattler, who possesses strong arm talent but at times played recklessly during his five-year collegiate career. During his three preseason appearances, Rattler completed 20 of 38 pass attempts (52.6 percent) for 202 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions while rushing seven times for 26 yards and a lost fumble.

Unfortunate injury for Carr. He's quietly been having a really good season, one of the best of his career, considering how little he has to work with.

What is Olave really worth now with Carr back? On one hand, Carr is probably the best option to throw the ball to Olave, but on the other hand, he has lead Olave into concussions.
Is Olave still worth a 1st rd pick in a rookie draft? Would a 1:1 swap for Pickens or Aiyuk be a good value?
I'm not sure what I want to do with Olave. Maybe take whatever I can get in order to move away from someone with repeated brain trauma.

Not sure how accurate it is, but heard on local Pittsburgh sports talk that Carr is considering retirement.

#Saints starting QB Derek Carr, after numerous talks with the team about his 2025 compensation, is getting most of his salary converted for salary cap reasons, per me and @MikeGarafolo.

Carr sticks after all in New Orleans, and he’s set to make his full $40M.
That's sneaky big news. I thought New Orleans made a lot of sense for Sanders in the draft, both to reset the cap a bit, and rebuild on the fly.

I get the move for New Orleans, Carr is a solid QB, and I like Kellen Moore, but that likely takes them out of QB drafting until round 3 at the earliest, if at all, they might just stick with Rattler behind Carr.

If he really slides past the 5 teams ahead of them who need a qb, why not? They might do as you say, but I don’t think it makes Sanders or other later qb impossible. Atlanta spent more time/$ on Cousins and still took Penix.

This potentially could shake up the draft a tad

(Rotowire) Carr (shoulder/hand) is nursing a shoulder injury that may require surgery and could impact his availability for the 2025 season, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Carr, who missed seven games in 2024 (including the Saints' final four contests) due to a left oblique injury and a fractured left hand, is now dealing with an injury that could significantly impact the Saints' coming year, as well as the team's decisions in April's draft. Further details regarding the veteran signal-caller's injury should be forthcoming, but Rapoport reports that surgery is among the options being considered by Carr and New Orleans. With only Spencer Rattler, Jake Haener and Ben DiNucci currently available behind Carr on the depth chart, the Saints figure to be increasingly motivated to explore remaining free agency options at quarterback, and the team's decision at No. 9 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft could now more realistically trend toward the position.

Wonder if that frees up another potential spot for Rodgers? Saints can always keep finding a way to keep kicking the can down the road.

Rodgers on an average at best team with a rookie HC seems like an accident waiting to happen.

I don’t know why Rodgers doesn’t ride off into the sunset.

Well, time with Jets was a dumpster fire, so maybe he doesn't want to go out like that. We will find out soon enough.
