If Ryan can get a 1st, Watson should fetch 10 1sts
My take is that the Falcons don’t want to rush Ryan out the door. Been too important to the franchise for them to do that. I don’t know if I’d say Watson is doing the Falcons a solid by ‘taking the weekend’…but if the Falcons won the Watson Derby, it was going to be a two part process for them and I think they want to afford Ryan some space/time to get to the right situation based on available offers. And if I’m Watson’s team, I’m doing exactly the same thing. I don’t see it as “bad faith” at all.
That sounds like sour grapes.
Any agent/team is going to use the other teams offers as leverage in negotiation. That’s just how it works. Especially in a situation where 3 teams in the same division are making competing offers in a bidding war.
The only bit I don’t like is the “he’s gonna sleep on it” and then “he might take the weekend to decide”.
just get it done. Stop holding up FA for so many teams/players, and pick a team already. This delay is wholly unnecessary.
But the contract bidding war stuff, and how CAR might feel about it or if they were used as a tool? Happens all the time. No bad faith there, just smart business.
Indy lost five one score games last year (including 4 to playoff teams). The stats show that they should have been close to an 11-win team. Had they had Ryan last year, chances are they probably make the playoffs.this was what I was mauling, but still don't see it for a first rounder. I am absolutely discounting how desperate teams can get so anything can happen in the next few days, but looking at this logically:
teams that have to get a QB between now and start of season: Seattle, Indy, maybe Cleveland, Houston assuming Mills isn't their guy and i don't think they think that.
teams that probably doesn't have its QB of the future in their current roster: maybe Cleveland, New Orleans, Carolina, PIttsburgh, NY Giants.
only Cleveland stands out as a win now team and they don't look like a good fit for Ryan. Maybe Pittsburgh, but are they built to win in the next year or two? i can see Pitt wanting him on the cheap, like these other teams, but a first seems like a reach. Washington took on that dumb big contract already, so it would be crazy to even consider they would approach any deals for a QB at that price.
lololol...Per Schefty, Watson has told the Texans he'd waive the no-trade clause to join Cleveland.
Baker Mayfield is on the clock
As someone a fan of a sub standard NFC team I say thank you.Grrrr. Too many of the amazing young QBs are still in the AFC
To be fair, its only reasonable that his employer pays off his therapists. Right?5/230M FULLY Guaranteed.
Money won.
I don't think reporting was off and Watson told Cleveland they were out.I dont get it.
Apparently everyone reporting stuff all offseason is just guessing
It’s so weird.I dont get it.
Apparently everyone reporting stuff all offseason is just guessing
But the important thing is that there's only one such QB in the AFC E. And I don't mean Mac Jones.Grrrr. Too many of the amazing young QBs are still in the AFC
Well, and that’s the best team he’s ever played for, roster-wise.5/230M FULLY Guaranteed.
Money won.
I wonder what$$$$$$I don't think reporting was off and Watson told Cleveland they were out.
$omething changed his mind.
Yeah I have some small white washclothsAny Browns fans buying that jersey?
WOW. That is risky. This could get the Browns multiple Super Bowls or haunt the team for many years.5/230M FULLY Guaranteed.
Money won.
Wait a minute, he went from 4/140 to 5/230M Fully Guaranteed? Holt #### are some of those teammates going to hate him even though they want to win.5/230M FULLY Guaranteed.
Money won.
At least now they have a chanceWOW. That is risky. This could get the Browns multiple Super Bowls or haunt the team for many years.
I think the better question is How are YOU?!Hello friends. How are you?
Cle/Cin should be a fun battle for the division every year...WOW. That is risky. This could get the Browns multiple Super Bowls or haunt the team for many years.
I saw elsewhere over the last day or two that HOU was not interested in Baker. Can't wait to hear if any other players are involved. Like Kareem Hunt? Are we assuming Mayfield?
what a movie that would make if they did sign him and watson to gordon is a success. Now sign Josh Gordon??
Yes it really happened that guy cried over his extension, never played a down on it, demanded a trade, got hit with 22 sexual assuault allegations which remain uncleared in civil court, got paid for nothing last year and turned all of that into a huge guaranteed raise.Wait a minute, he went from 4/140 to 5/230M Fully Guaranteed? There might be another Brown or two that will have to be let go.
