I have no clue if Winson is dumb, but while he came off well in that presser yesterday, actions speak louder than words, and he needs to stop doing dumb ### things off the field before some believe he has the tools, the mentality and the brains to be a franchise QB for the long haul.

The immaturity is evident on the field too. That's a bigger problem imho

It's not lack of intelligence (by all accounts he's smart) but his immaturity combined with arrogance will make it hard for him to adjust to the NFL. Let's see how he handles losing and the media questioning his ability instead of worshiping him. Everything about him screams Ryan Leaf.

I've watched plenty. Just re watched 2 games this week in prep for the combine. It only solidifies that I think youre way off.

The things that are concerns about Winston, maturity and on-field decision-making, get fixed every year. Every single year, players that have maturity issues come into the league, and grow up, or demonstrate that the concerns are overblown. Not as much at QB, so that might be give one a bit more concern, but the fact is, everything that may be 'broken' on Winston is very, very fix-able. I don't particularly like the person, and have been screwing around a bit because Capella is getting a bit hysterical, but I don't think this guy is another JaMarcus or anything.

Mariota, maybe he is every bit the passer Winston is. Maybe. But whoever drafts him is guessing that he can make all the NFL throws, and put it in tight windows, and shows more NFL accuracy than he has shown in college. However, if that is indeed a problem, and needs to be fixed, good luck. All the leadership, and quiet lead by example stuff won't matter if he can't pass the ball at a high level.

You’ve got to make them better, and if you don’t make them better, you have no chance. And he was all about RG3. I sympathize with Jay Gruden. Gruden came out and pointed out, which is right, that he has no mechanics. He is a terrible passer, has no accuracy, he doesn’t understand the offense, he doesn’t read defenses, and he has no discipline. When he is supposed to take a three-yard drop, he takes a one-yard drop; if he is supposed to take a five-yard drop, it’s a three-yard drop. There’s no discipline and understanding of the defense because he is a pontificator. He will never make it. He will be out of football. He will be in the same graveyard as JaMarcus Russell and Vince Young.

Yes we do, and examples have been given. Not as often as some bringing up his INT percentage, but a lot.

In fact, if we just go with sexual assault accusations, there's a QB with two rings in Pittsburgh.

It doesn't, not something I haven't already considered. Winston's bad 2014 tape was my deal breaker. He needed to be clearly better on the field to be considered number one and he wasn't.

I don't think that's fair. That's a 20 year old kid in that video who was so good that was the only college loss he ever had. Everyone would be sour over that. The NFL's level of talent and the team he will be going to will familiarize him with losing and making mistakes that will humble him up real quick.

Throws with best anticipation I've seen out of a college QB other than Luck. Not scared of the moment. Tremendous, tremendous leader. Plenty of arm and has demonstrated every throw an NFL QB has to make, particularly in tight pockets.Made some bad throws this year but he was playing with 3 true freshman out of the 4 main skill spots. For some reason people continue to disregard this. If he was a dork off the field, or not a black guy from Alabama with a thick southern accent people would be tripping over themselves about him.

Yes, I would rather have a dork off the field like Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, wait...every other successful NFL QB.

Manning had a sexual assault charge in college too. Pulled his #### out in front of some girl.

I am just posting your quotes on how you were defending Johnny up until the bitter bitter end. Your "eye for talent" regarding quarterbacks particularly Winston is why we are talking about it.
