QB Jameis Winston, NYG (2 Viewers)

Really torn about taking Winston. How do people generally view him vs the 2016 qb class? I have heard its deep but is it top heavy? Where would Winston rank vs the big 3 next year?

Winston and Mariotta are both better prospects than anybody next year. 2nd tier group is deeper next year than this year though...group of late 1st/2nd round talents.

At least a couple of the 2016 QBs will end up better than these 2 guys.

That's a pretty dangerous thing to assume. Winston was a very good prospect, Mariota was a pretty good prospect. There's no way to guarantee any given year will do better than that, unless you see obvious talents like Luck and even Winston coming. There's nobody like that obviously on the radar right now.

Welcome to the thread. He's fishing or a dope or likely both.

Unfortunately, NFL teams are far, far behind lod01 when it comes to QB evaluation. They simply don't have the resources.

True, most of them are. The Bucs top the list. Hell, they don't even know what they have in Glennon and are afraid to trade him even though other GMs want him.

you guys sound like Schnikes, the Tebow lover (probably one of your aliases) and the clown that said Vince Young was going to be great. I sent them packing. Guess your future. It's the same.

You really do a good job of auto-fellatio. Where are your against-the-grain calls on successful QBs? It's way easier to predict failure than success.

Tampa Bay knows exactly what they have in Glennon; a third-round pick who plays like a third-round pick. Did we mention that he led the NCAA in INTs his senior year?

:lmao: so good

A lot of guys in here are going to look dumb when Winston turns out to be a stud. Which is so glaringly obvious it hurts.

I'm not following.
Tough to tell, but that looks like the same, low hipped, wobbly kneed, pitcher-like, extraneous motion filled motion he's always had.

Question: Given the CBA, are players allowed to have playbooks during this time off?

Top 10 things we learned from OTAs: Mariota, Winston are for real

Excerpt:

2. Jameis Winston is the real deal for Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Winston has already picked up the Buccaneers' offense, which isn't a surprise. He's bright. He understands offenses. Perhaps more importantly, he seems to have fit in with the veterans around him. And even though he spent some time behind Mike Glennon in team drills, you can see how the Bucs are already preparing to build the offense around him. They've moved Mike Evans to split end and are using Vincent Jackson more in the slot, which will create some easier throws for him, and coaches are trying to make Winston more comfortable in an uptempo offense. He should take over the starting job during training camp.

I want Winston to succeed, but June hype will need to translate into play on the field in Sept.
Well duh but you really couldn't ask for anything more at this point. Guy seems like a workaholic.
A lot of players sound good through team reports in June. Yes, it's great that the news is glowingly positive. But, I'll still temper expectations until how we get to see how he plays in actual games. I'm cautiously optimistic, but with an emphasis on cautiously at this point.

I wonder how much "fun" it will be when he is looking out of his earhole after Watt sacks him.
How much 'fun' was it for Favre to get sacked by Sapp? For Favre, a lot.
I don't get what you are trying to say because I am not familiar with whatever you are referencing.
Favre had one of the great QB-DT rivalries ever partly because Favre would jump up after a sack and hit Sapp playfully in the helmet. Many see similarities in Winstons personality.

Gotcha. It will be interesting to see if Winston has Favre's toughness. Pain can make cowards of us all.
