QB Jameis Winston, NYG (4 Viewers)

Not only are the stats off, but it's pretty clear that Jameis has much more passion for the game of football than Cutler has ever had and is a better leader.

Cutler was No. 12 fantasy QB that year.

If Winston can make some improvements, he'll be better than Cutler.

So what if a guy has similar numbers to another guy as a rookie. Means nothing. Just need a larger sample. The amount of turnovers he has are Cutler esque but it doesn't mean Winston won't be able to remedy those issues to some degree.

I have Winston on one team (redraft) and I'm holding.  Playoff scheduled weeks 14 - 16:  NO, @ DAL, @ NO.

He had a bad game against a good D on the road... will continue to monitor his progress throughout the season but he might be a great start in the playoffs this year.

62%, 400 yards, 3 touchdowns.

The only stupid is re-reading your posts about him.
No one will remember the garbage time #s, only the stupidity he showed with the game on the line. Your boy lost another game for Tampa Bay this time with unparalled stupidity.

Again what did he do?  I could care less about him as a person or how the Bucs do I, like pretty much everyone here, just care about fantasy points.

He panicked and didn't throw it or run the ball on the last play. Got caught in the middle. This was after about 15 great plays to bring them back into the game.

He is the least of this terrible team's problems, despite lod000's attempts to keep trolling.

Thanks figured as much.  Pretty hard to put up those kind of numbers by making a bunch of stupid plays.

Yeah he made some good plays.  He also ran 5 yards by the line of scrimmage on the last play of the game, looking to throw still.

But because it's his 19th game (college doesn't count), he's excused.

Can't remember the last time I saw an NFL QB go that far, it was pretty funny.

The guy is flat out dumb.

There are still people who don't have lod000 on ignore?

I sat this guy for Ryan Fitzpatrick, and last week  sat Fitz for Winston. My starting QBs in that league have a 1:10 TD:INT ratio over the last two weeks.

All I know is 19 games in the NFL - and however many prior - are not enough to know where the line of scrimmage is.

Or when to call a timeout.  "Leaders" don't know that stuff.

Bottom line is it's NOT HIS FAULT.

lol.  I'm not far behind you.  I did the same thing but with Mariota!  Not as bad last week, but this week was brutal

I'm playing him vs denver.  But my alternatives suck.  They will lose, but hopefully he can get a couple garbage time tds

That was hilarious. The guy is so dumb that he couldn't call timeout himself. Wentz would have used one instead of letting the clock tick down like it did, losing valuable time. This guy is leading the team to loss after loss while Wentz racks up wins with an inferior supporting cast. Man if only you guys would have waited just one more year, you could have had a Mercedes instead of a Yugo. I love it when he goes bug eyes in his helmet after he does something stupid.

Don't cry Capella, you will get to play some rival bottomfeeders later this year and then you can be happy again. Maybe you can build a D so that won't have to put the load on this turnover machine's shoulders. 2 more by the way, one taken back for a TD.

That was a dumb play by Winston, who is denying that? Again, you are blaming Winston who threw for 3 TD's and 400+ yards against a very good defense, while his defense allowed 37 points to a team who didn't have a TD coming into the game. Not to mention, if our garbage 2nd round kicker could make a kick and we had decent clock management, the last play of the game would have never happened.

It's clear as day that you fall into one of the following categories:

1. Didn't watch the game/don't understand football

2. Troll

3. Hate Jameis Winston

Yep, it was all Wentz who held one of the best offenses in the game to 3 points

Was I seeing things yesterday or was Winston like 11 yards past the line of scrimmage on that last play and he was still looking to throw instead of tucking it and running?

well-said.  I too was surprised that Tampa didn't exercise their option to hold the number 1 pick until the year that they felt like using it.

Picks are picks I suppose but the one taken back for a TD was A pass thrown right to Sims that he coughed up and it richocheted to the defender. Wasn't a poor throw or decision in my opinion.

He's had a few of those this season.  He's been pretty damn good so far.  Don't understand the hate

It's Quarterbacking 101 to know you can't run past the line of scrimmage and throw the ball, so he doesn't get a pass for that, but he has been very good so far as a pro QB.  And when you consider all of the off the field stuff that was talked about before he was drafted, the fact that we haven't heard anything about him since he was drafted is a good sign so far.

It's Quarterbacking 101 to know you can't run past the line of scrimmage and throw the ball...
To be fair, I don't believe that he does not know this.  Rather, he did not know where he currently was relative to the line of scrimmage.  Now, knowing your position relative to the line of scrimmage is important for a quarterback, perhaps Quarterbacking 201.  But making a mistake in that regard is not quite as bad as not knowing the rule.

EDIT: Wanted to add, the rest of your post is spot on.

Really torn this week on whether he's startable. I could see him getting some garbage points. I could also see him repeating the AZ game.

Thinking about Simean, Jimmy G (if he plays) or Hoyer as potential replacements.

Me too.  I am about to pick up simean.  He's got tb, atl, and sd.

He's a good play during winston's bye.  And maybe better this week. Denver has been awesome this season.  Can't play Winston vs them can we?

There was some stat going round that No QB has thrown more than 1 TD against them for their last 6 games or so

so the question is are they due to give some tds up or have a down game?  Probably.  But it's hard to bet against them
Indeed.

Then look at the QBs they faced

Newton x 2
Brady
Big Ben (No A Brown)
Luck

A Davis
Macarron
Dalton

Last 2 QBs to get multiple TDs were Big Ben With A Brown and D Carr

Yea I wouldn't start Winston against Denver this week. He isn't matchup proof yet.

The good news is that after Denver and Carolina, we have a bye and the rest of the schedule is full of bad defenses other than 2 or 3 games. And obviously the playoff schedule.
