QB Philip Rivers, IND (11 Viewers)

JJ Watt... I’ll never forget lining up for a play and Phil pointing to one of our linebackers and telling him he was lined up wrong based off the blitz we were about to run and being 100% correct about it haha. One of the smartest I’ve ever played against and a hell of a competitor

Phillip Rivers had like no arm and mobility 5 years ago.

So OF COURSE he's healthy enough and fine to be a starting QB now. Charging up to make all those kids is perfect practice for being an NFL QB!

Honestly, I see no reason 44-year-old Rivers couldn't be better than a day 3 rookie or Anthony Richardson.
I think 43-year old Ryan Fitzpatrick could also be better. With 17 kids between them, I bet they're in decent shape and have thrown a few footballs since retirement.

If the Colts are actually at the point where they are looking at 44 year old Rivers wouldn't someone like Derek Carr or even 40 year old Matt Ryan make more sense. Or Tannehill? 44 year old Rivers can't make sense. Please make it make sense.

Rivers looked a lot better the last time we saw him than Ryan did. But yeah, Derek Carr would make a lot of sense, except NO would have to release him, I think. Tannehill would make some sense too, but Rivers is honestly probably the best option based on the last time we saw him, other than maybe Carr.

I forget if Richardson went on IR before the deadline, but if he did, they really should have offered like a 7th rounder for Russell Wilson or Jameis Winston.

Nice response. It just seems absolutely ridiculous that nobody in the Colts organization stood up in a meeting and asked, "Hey, what if Jones gets hurt?" Rivers hasn't played in FIVE years. That's the solution? This just seems silly. Imo

:ROFLMAO: Right?!

Dude ain't got no knees from baby making! Gotta figure dad bod is in prime form. Hasn't played in 5 years. AND HE'S A GRANDPA! Surely Kyle Trask or Desmond Ridder could offer more? Give the young guys a chance! That is one of the things wrong with the NFL...too many OLD A$$ retreads between players and coaches. Bringing people out of retirement?!?! Get some "yoot" in there!

It would be silly if it was true.

pass defenses coming up - has WR Pittman, TE Warren, RB Taylor .... its not like the team isn't a disaster. Rivers COULD actually manage it .... right ?

I think its much better to go with an old guy who was great once, than a young guy we know sucks. Desmond Ridder offers nothing. Rivers is a WAY better option than he is.

I'm honestly surprised how negative the response is to this. Ideally, they would have made a move for Russ or whatever at the deadline, but I don't see why Rivers will be worse than a day 3 rookie, or practice squad types. To be honest, it wouldn't blow my mind if he went on a bit of a Flacco run.

I don't think they're really thinking of putting him out there. I just figured they brought him in to help whoever they're really bringing in.

That doesn't make sense to me. There is nobody to "really bring in" I think Rivers starts Sunday.

The dude's a grandfather. He is going to regret this decision.

I don't know Rivers. Would his ego allow himself to be brought in for that reason? My gut says it wouldn't. He signed with the idea he is gonna at least get a chance to play. Right?

Bring out the body bag.
