WutYour golden boy Purdy is coming back down to earth (the funny thing is he never left he's over hyped) and I'm going to laugh at you all season.
I didn't have vitriol for Purdy until I started reading this guys posts tbh.WutYour golden boy Purdy is coming back down to earth (the funny thing is he never left he's over hyped) and I'm going to laugh at you all season.
Purdy is recovering from a torn UCL
Dude won 8 straight games. Not sure what youāre taking about or why the vitriol for Purdy.
Iām not sure dude didnāt play over his skis last year either, but I saw a young passer who was remarkably good at extending plays & finding open receivers.
I have no idea who you are, but have fun laughing at whatever you feel like laughing at.Your golden boy Purdy is coming back down to earth (the funny thing is he never left he's over hyped) and I'm going to laugh at you all season.Time to accept it, he's a bust, at least as starting QB in SF. Htting on picks like Purdy, Kittle, Hufanga, etc help soften the blow.
It's over, Lance fans. Maybe he catches on somewhere else, but he's done in SF IMO.
Lance is done in SF.

I donāt have to - Iāve been saying it for over a year. lolLance is done in SF.
Mark it down.
Actually local media reports they best offer the 49ers had for him was a 4th. They declined.I love the media narrative on this kid... everything from, Niners won't accept a heafty offer for him, to, he just sucks and we're about to cut him...
But it did include a side of fries.Actually local media reports they best offer the 49ers had for him was a 4th. They declined.I love the media narrative on this kid... everything from, Niners won't accept a heafty offer for him, to, he just sucks and we're about to cut him...
A 4th would be an embarrassing acknowledgement of their mistaken investment. That, and, they actually may see potential development in him, but are too invested in the 'win now' that Purdy apparently provides them. The NFL with extra tape may disagree.
Luck? The same luck that has kept them from winning a ring since the 1994 season?Only the luck of the niners could bail them out in this manner (literally, Mr. Irrelevent). Any other team would be set back for years.
No, in fact Heās been abjectly terrible in practice. Iām sure they want to deal him for more, but if they start him in the preseason no one is going to offer anything.A 4th would be an embarrassing acknowledgement of their mistaken investment. It was damn lucky. Iāll take it.Only the luck of the niners could bail them out in this manner (literally, Mr. Irrelevent). Any other team would be set back for years.

Edit: I also was never impressed with any of this throws. Yac monsters carried him.

To some extent, but getting this level of production out of Purdy also demonstrates why Shanahan is one of the most valuable assets in the NFL.Only the luck of the niners could bail them out in this manner (literally, Mr. Irrelevent). Any other team would be set back for years.
Purdy: 51% of pass yards were YAC; 6.2 YAC per completion
Mahomes: 54% of pass yards were YAC; 6.6 YAC per completion

Especially in this offense thatās set up for catch and run. This IMO tells the story. If the guy cannot hit the easy throwsā¦now what?
I will never forget his absolute choke job in quite possibly calling the absolute worst half of football when the Falcons blew the Super Bowl.To some extent, but getting this level of production out of Purdy also demonstrates why Shanahan is one of the most valuable assets in the NFL.Only the luck of the niners could bail them out in this manner (literally, Mr. Irrelevent). Notwithstanding that choke job and even if he never wins a Super Bowl, heās still one of the most valuable offensive minds in the league.I will never forget his absolute choke job in quite possibly calling the absolute worst half of football when the Falcons blew the Super Bowl.To some extent, but getting this level of production out of Purdy also demonstrates why Shanahan is one of the most valuable assets in the NFL.Only the luck of the niners could bail them out in this manner (literally, Mr. Irrelevent). I still canāt believe just how bad it was.
Anywayā¦..we will see if he is able to coach this team to the promised land in SF.
But manā¦..that was ****ing brutal bad and the prime example of how not to shorten a game with a 24 point lead at the half (27-3 if memory serves me correct).

Eventually heāll be a free agent. Just gets to throw a few years of his career away. Or grow, depending on your perspective.I am not ready to write off Trey Lance as an NFL prospect because he simply has not played.....literally at all. And that is not his fault. He broke his ankle in the second game of the season.
But I have written him off ever being anything as long as he is in SF.
Purdy took and earned the job. Itās as simple as that. This is Purdyās team. If Jimmy G never got hurt.....then we are not even talking about Purdy right now.....crazy how things like this work out.
The best thing for Lance would to be traded and given a fresh start somewhere else.
Problem is with someone so raw is that they need good coaching and reps. It was a dream scenario for Lance being paired with Shanahanā¦that then turned into the worst case scenario. He gets hurt and Purdy runs the offense efficiently like Kyle likes it run. Now what? Trey gets less reps and support which essentially leaves him at day one based on his previous experience. Huge uphill battle for Trey, which will take hard work and an injury to have a turnaround story in SF. Like you said, free agency is probably his next shot barring health of those in front of him. I think Sam ends up being number two so the road is long right now.Eventually heāll be a free agent. Just gets to throw a few years of his career away. Iād say itās fairly safe to say that his growth has been severely limited by these early career setbacks.Eventually heāll be a free agent. Just gets to throw a few years of his career away. Or grow, depending on your perspective.
It was hard not to be overhyped given his draft capital and the situation he was presented with in Shanahanās system surrounded by a talented roster.Another overhyped(Lance) FF media creation. Its like Jordan Love is going to totally win leagues on a hot air ballon.
Until they actually play a full season you have no idea how they're going to perform.
Iām a little optimistic about Love, because he was allowed (forced) to sit & learn.Another overhyped(Lance) FF media creation. Its like Jordan Love is going to totally win leagues on a hot air ballon.

But youāre right that he needs to prove it on the field.
Looked great for 1 drive against a very good Eagles team last year. He's just look beyond awful when he plays mostly though

Over Ja'Marr Chase ? yikes.I see Bloom has him No. 1 in his dynasty rankings among all rookies. Not sure Iām there but Iām hopeful he will be a bargain on draft day.

Dez quoted a post from over two years ago. Which is funny because I seem to remember Pitts being Bloomās #1 rookie that year (August I want to say, but I could see him going with Lance prior to that). As for what purpose that served for him to quote a post from 2021, your guess is as good as mine.He said among all rookies, no?Over Ja'Marr Chase ? yikes.I see Bloom has him No. 1 in his dynasty rankings among all rookies. Was he ever out of them? From what I read about yesterday, seems Lance is back in the good graces of the coaching staff.
9ers drafting Lance never made any sense. They are in the middle of their championship window and they bring in a project QB with very little experience playing the position. Was he ever out of them? From what I read about yesterday, seems Lance is back in the good graces of the coaching staff.
I think the problem is he's simply much less NFL ready than they believed when they drafted him not that he lacked effort or is a problem child.
I think the more I see of this, the more the niners wanted Mac Jones and were scared off after the media trashed them for moving up that far to take him.9ers drafting Lance never made any sense.
