Starting Tua with Daniels questionable. I think the Dolphins will feast once again.
On my way to the game. He should have a great game. Waddle and Hill both should go off. They have been itching to actually get a bone thrown to them.Starting Tua with Daniels questionable. I think the Dolphins will feast once again.
Welp. Tua did ok but Murray of course had a day. Hope it doesn't cost me.Putting him in over Murray now. Didn't realize Miamis defense is actually #1 against QBs and WRs in fantasy this year. I'll take my chances with Tua going against Arizona D than Murray against Miami.

The DB was also chanting in his head “please go down, please go down.” as he gently two-hand touched him with his open arms. This is awesome. Tua slid after a scramble, and the crowd went nuts.

red zone requires more in terms of sharpness and timing. hes been away long enough that the timing likely isnt there. That always takes longer to return. He looked sharp but man there were so many points left on the board with this game- red zone miscues and running tds
Nope. McDaniel gotta be feeling the pressure. What we have seen when they don't have Tua is embarrassing and makes McDaniel look like he should be coaching middle school football. Tua is an adult. Tua decided he is good to go. You play Tua. You hope for the best. ImoIf Miami loses this weekend, anyone think McDaniel benches Tua for the season, or play him sparingly? Why risk another hit and probably losing him for good if they're realistically out of playoff contention.

I actually just saw this play. I'm speechless. My goodness. What in the world. Tua. Dude. Like. WTF!!!Tua also decided to dive headfirst into the knee of a defender after an interception. He's really not all there.
Next Gen Stats
The Dolphins used motion at their highest rate in a game this season (93.7%) with Tua Tagovailoa completing 27 of his 37 attempts for 268 yards and 4 touchdowns on such plays.
Tagovailoa's 4 TD passes off motion are tied for the most in any game this season.

Hunter or Huntley?OUT vs Cleveland, that has a big ripple effect on not just skill ayers but the Miami Dolphins was seen seen as a decent Def/ST streamer this week
I'm not so sure I would want to do that now with Hunter as the QB

Allen attempted only one pass over 10 air yards, while Tua completed as many passes behind the LOS as past it (11 each).

This was on display all night long. I remember Tua being better. It doesn't look great for him and Miami moving forward.Ross Tucker Podcast

"That dude can do literally anything he wants. Definitely different skill set for me. I can’t do half of what he does."

I just looked up his contract and said oh my god so loudly that my wife asked me what was wrong.

I saw a different angle of the replay and the Bills defender/lineman looks to have got his hands up and deflected it - altered the course of the ball. That pick was one of the worst I've seen in my life, and I love Brett Favre.

Same position but in superflex, need 2 between Dak, Fields and Tua. Fields for sure if he is a go, leaning Tua over Dak this week if Fields is active.I think I’m starting him Monday night. It’s either him or doomed by Dak. Late QB has not been kind to me.
Damn, and finally starting pronouncing his name right, too.I just looked up his contract and said oh my god so loudly that my wife asked me what was wrong.

They can get out after this year. These contracts aren't as locked in as they seem. Russell Wilson a couple years ago proved exactly that, and below would be a similar outcome -
POST-6/1 2026 RELEASE
2026 Dead Cap: $67,400,000
2027 Dead Cap: $31,800,000
2026 Savings: -$11,000,000: this right here is the truly relevant number - rest of the above is spilled milk. Next three numbers also VERY relevant:
2027 Savings: $53,400,000 (less dead cap above)
2028 Savings: $65,800,000
2029 Savings: $11,000,000
Even the net $11 MM hit they'd take in 2026 by releasing him, could be entirely offset and more, if they can find a sucker to trade for him, wherein the Dolphins pay part of the contract. Any amount the trade partner pays Tua would offset that $11 MM. Keep the guy upright and accumulating sucker stats, and maybe you find a sucker to offload him to next year who will pay him something, anything to offset the above figures.

Tua Tagovailoa was at his best targeting in-breaking routes against the Jets, finishing 9 of 11 for 117 yards and 2 TDs, including a perfect 7 of 7 targeting crossing routes.
Both of his TD passes on the night came when the Jets ran a man-blitz.

I assume your a Dolphins fan? What is the fanbase's feeling towards Tua as a long-term starter? I suppose many people are ready to move on?I will say this, he looked "better" last night. Still had to run for his life a few times and tried his best to get concussed on his one run - just slide early bro...
The O-line didn't seem all that great again which isn't good long term (for this year). Tua doesn't get a lot of help but at times he doesn't help himself either. I feel it is only a matter of time until he gets hurt again on one of his scrambles.
Omar Kelly of the Miami Herald has seen it, and it shows quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as having two injuries: hip and thumb. Tagovailoa per the report was limited. Kelly’s story makes it seem like it was on the low end of limited. Tagovailoa had not appeared on any of the injury reports for the prior five weeks of the 2025 regular season. The thumb injury is on his left hand. Which is a problem, because he’s left-handed. Kelly reports that the hip injury could sideline Tagovailoa for a couple of days. (Again, he was officially limited on Wednesday.)
Zach Wilson, the second overall pick in the 2021 draft, is the backup to Tagovailoa.
