On my way to the game. He should have a great game. Waddle and Hill both should go off. They have been itching to actually get a bone thrown to them.
Might actually see OBJ catch a a few balls as well. Thought about wearing my Giants #13, but then decided against it.

He looked sharp but man there were so many points left on the board with this game- red zone miscues and running tds

red zone requires more in terms of sharpness and timing. hes been away long enough that the timing likely isnt there. That always takes longer to return.
Tua might get back the "great white hope" River Cracraft. Those are Tua's words! He's been great at extending drives, but has been injured most of the last 2 years. He might return from a shoulder injury suffered on a nice Tua TD pass in the preseason. I think he's a better fit than OBJ, he plays all WR positions.
Miami is almost guaranteed to lose to BUF, Allen has been elite+ vs Miami, but Tua has been decent in some games. In the Sep game, the 1st INT bounced off a practice squad WR's shoulder, on the 2nd INT the Chosen one didn't complete the route. The last INT was a failed throwaway under pressure.

Nope. McDaniel gotta be feeling the pressure. What we have seen when they don't have Tua is embarrassing and makes McDaniel look like he should be coaching middle school football. Tua is an adult. Tua decided he is good to go. You play Tua. You hope for the best. Imo

Tua took one of the worst sacks I have seen this year at the end of the half. Second and 5 he drops back, instead of rolling to his left where no defenders were and throws it away he stays in the hashes and keeps going backwards and takes a 15 yard sack making it third and 20 instead of third and 5. Punt it away and give the Rams a FG right before half.
Not sure if it is the concussions but he sure does and seem as sharp in his decisions as he was before. Plus as Football Jones says..Tua is paid like an elite QB even though he is mid-level and injury prone.

OUT vs Cleveland, that has a big ripple effect on not just skill payers but the Miami Dolphins was seen seen as a decent Def/ST streamer this week

It’s a huge bummer for me to see how his story seems to be unfolding. One of my home league mates is a huge dolphins fan and a great kid. McDaniel and Tua seem to have run out of fairy dust. It’s wild to see them flame out after being such an offensive juggernaut for a little while.
I don’t follow them close enough to understand why they didn’t work harder on the OLine given Tua’s recent history

This was on display all night long. I remember Tua being better. It doesn't look great for him and Miami moving forward.

I saw a different angle of the replay and the Bills defender/lineman looks to have got his hands up and deflected it - altered the course of the ball.
Great read by the Bills DB though - made a great play.

They can't really get away from him until the end of 2026
There is some wording in the contract, maybe there is a post June 1st release but that still is a $67M cap hit
After '26, the cap hit vs savings favors the Phins but the reality is Miami must continue to play Tua, especially the GM/HC, this is their guy
-That's why I don't see any reason to fire McDaniel, just watch this ship sink slowly this season and then start rebuilding with the understanding you still have Tua in '26
It's almost as bad as Kirk Cousins.
-Quinn Ewers is not ready to start taking snaps, maybe in Nov/Dec when the season is really over and there's not much left to play for, maybe they take a peak at him.
Zach Wilson would just be a waste of time IMHO, and we also don't need a hero wining a couple meaningless games, just leave him on the bench
Most Miami fans at this point just want to land a Top 3-5 pick and let the QB talk start for whoever might be there in April, that's all that is really left for this season

They can get out after this year. These contracts aren't as locked in as they seem. Russell Wilson a couple years ago proved exactly that, and below would be a similar outcome -
POST-6/1 2026 RELEASE
2026 Dead Cap: $67,400,0002027 Dead Cap: $31,800,000
2026 Savings: -$11,000,000: this right here is the truly relevant number - rest of the above is spilled milk. Next three numbers also VERY relevant:
2027 Savings: $53,400,000 (less dead cap above)
2028 Savings: $65,800,000
2029 Savings: $11,000,000
Even the net $11 MM hit they'd take in 2026 by releasing him, could be entirely offset and more, if they can find a sucker to trade for him, wherein the Dolphins pay part of the contract. Any amount the trade partner pays Tua would offset that $11 MM. Keep the guy upright and accumulating sucker stats, and maybe you find a sucker to offload him to next year who will pay him something, anything to offset the above figures.

I will say this, he looked "better" last night. Still had to run for his life a few times and tried his best to get concussed on his one run - just slide early bro...
The O-line didn't seem all that great again which isn't good long term (for this year). Tua doesn't get a lot of help but at times he doesn't help himself either. I feel it is only a matter of time until he gets hurt again on one of his scrambles.

I assume your a Dolphins fan? What is the fanbase's feeling towards Tua as a long-term starter? I suppose many people are ready to move on?
I've always liked Tua. He didn't look good early this year, but showed signs last week. He can spin it when he's in rhythm and doesn't have to maneuver around. I'm rooting for him to turn things around!
