Tyrod Taylor completed 18-of-29 passes for 279 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions in the Giants’ 14-7, Week 7 win over the Commanders.
That’s back-to-back strong outings for Taylor, who looked in control throughout much of Sunday’s win. He and the Giants managed just two touchdowns on the afternoon — both coming in the second quarter — but that was more than enough to down the Commanders and stop a four-game losing streak. Taylor’s first touchdown pass came on a 15-yard strike to Darren Waller, while his second came on a 32-yard catch-and-run effort by Saquon Barkley. Daniel Jones missed Sunday’s game with a neck injury, and could be in line to return in Week 8 against the Jets, but the Giants’ offense has looked much better with Taylor under center. A QB controversy should be brewing in New York, but a four-year, $160 million contract extension could keep that from happening.
