QB Will Levis, TEN (1 Viewer)

The thing with Levis is his inaccuracy is almost entirely about poor mechanics, which is often a coachable issue. Sure, it doesn't always take, but it's a lot easier to fix than a weak arm, or a lack of mobility.

He's got a rocket arm (best in this class in my opinion), he's got good mobility, and he also seems to be mentally tough. He's just got to iron out that accuracy, but if he does, I think his ceiling is higher than Stroud's, even if he's clearly not as good right now.

Personally, I have it:
Young
(dropoff)
Levis/Stroud/Richardson
(dropoff)
McKee, who I think is extremely underrated.
(dropoff)
Hooker, who I think is extremely overrated.

Then I'm not confident anyone else in the class is long for the NFL.

I tried to tell you guys he has serious problems and I‘ve been a UK fan my entire life. So there is no homerism with me.
I’ve been hearing scuttle that Levis will be available at 11, and the Titans will have a hard choice. I’d pass on him really. Bucs or jets if they can get away from Rodgers might be good.

I was about to say that he’s worth the pick there, but it’s not just value. Everyone who brings him on knows they might not survive if he doesn’t work out.

if you take a QB in the 3rd or even the 2nd, you can spin it as, he was value, we will see if he works out. In the first round, you are betting your employment.

Right. Neither Ran or Mike have any reason to be concerned yet. But is Ran willing to take that bet in his first draft? He could be. His old franchise certainly survived their 1st round QB “mistake”

Well, I don't know that I was really targeting him, but this looks very odd if accurate

.... I have a feeling Will Levis may have been ****ing around in interviews with teams he doesn't want to go to.
Trent Dilfer admitted to doing this to the Colts.
Well, wasn’t he a crappy QB that lucked into playing with a great defense?

That story doesn't make the Colts look bad, it makes Dilfer look bad.

By the way, I was at the Marriott Marquis that day, when Kiper and Tobin exchanged haymakers. Looking back on how Dilfer sabotaged his relationship with the Colts, it really adds a big piece of context. At the time, it was everyone's favorite draft geek drawing blood, and Tobin had a tough time of it. He got done wrong that day.

Who in the hell is Mel Kiper?

The colts sure have come a long way from top QBs not wanting to play for them.

The only top QB to my knowledge that didn’t want to play for them was Elway. Differ hardly qualifies as a top QB.

Leaving college, Dilfer was considered a top prospect. But hey, at least you got Trev Alberts at the 5 instead. 😉 and Marshall Faulk at the 2.

Two wrongs (Dilfer or Alberts) don't make a right.

Twice with 2 of the Ds on the short list of best in NFL history…failed with the 1st but thru that experience learned how to impact results as little as possible with the 2nd.

Anyway, the Levis story is a strange one. Maybe stay away. Maybe the arm is too tantalizing to do that. Should be a ride, whatever happens.

I’m sure it’s selective memory but it seems every time there’s red flags and “But that arm strength!!!” It’s a bust. I know Allen didn’t have awesome stats but I don’t remember him having the same issues as Levis or AR.

Geez guy.
This is why you’re not invited to more dinner parties.

You know, I was thinking as I was typing that I was disrupting a good old-fashioned hanging out (even if the hanging out had the commonality of an object of scorn) and that I would be a wet blanket for typing what I did, so your dinner party concern was pre-acknowledged. I just couldn't let it go. But the first step is being cognizant of it, so I've got that going for me...

Then along comes Rockaction

Not sure about QBs going 1-2-3-4.
I expect William Anderson to go either 2 or 3 but 4 QBs 'could' go in the top-10 picks.

QB 1-2-3-4 to start the draft is alive

The Colts' private workout of Kentucky QB Will Levis took place this AM.
Indy brought a convoy to Lexington for it—GM Chris Ballard, HC Shane Steichen, OC Jim Bob Cooter, QBs coach Cam Turner, ***'t GM Ed Dodds and college director Matt Terpening were all there, per sources.
