QB Zach Wilson, MIA (1 Viewer)

Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reports the Jets won't start Zach Wilson until he regains his confidence.

Glazer said Wilson's loss of confidence has led to myriad mechanical issues, including footwork that has led to poor throws throughout the season. Jets head coach Robert Saleh said this week that the team would work with Wilson to improve his mechanics, and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Wednesday that Wilson has struggled with the "yips" since the spring.

No!, No!

He seemed confident he wasn't the problem, did he have a change of heart?

Either Mike White is a pro bowler or Wilson suuuuucks.

But sure, give him another season to try and work through the kinks.

He does not need to regain his confidence, he needs to learn humility and hard work.

It is more than obvious he does not work hard at his awful mechanics or study enough film.
If he does all those things and still stinks then he is not intelligent enough to be an NFL QB

Wonder if he learned anything by watching White today

Like I said the end of last year, Wilson has been spectacularly bad.

What White did on Sunday and last year is telling.

After seeing the offense perform under Mike White, it's hard to have any positive hope for Wilson's future. Unless White pulls a spectacular faceplant like last season, it's his job to lose imo.

Jason LaCanfora thinks Zach Wilson is gone from the Jets.

“He doesn’t have a future there.. He lost his job to Mike effing White, you think he wants to be there? No. No! His agents say ‘You took this kid second overall and that’s the look you gave him? That’s how little you believe in him?’ No. It’s over. I don’t know what they get for him, but it’s over,” he said. “He’s not a part of their immediate future and their immediate future’s everything, and in the offseason, both sides are going to have a bunch of reasons why they should move on,” La Canfora said.

I do hope the part about coaches seeing improvement in him is true, and not some attempted coachspeak, pseudo, psychological boost to Zach Wilson’s psyche.

He’s baaaaaack. :pickle:

I hope he looks a lot better for the time off. Got his head clear. The kid is more talented than what he’s shown, and I’m rooting for him. I would be even if I didn’t roster him in one league.

i hope so and then I will flip him to the first offer I get. I am sick of riding this train.

I wish him the best but I don't think it is possible to just magically fix him with a few weeks off. Maybe he slightly improved 1 or 2 things but this is still the same Zach Wilson.

Apparently everything he’s done in the past gets memory holed because of a couple bad starts?

Huh

It doesn't matter what he did in college. It matters what he did in the NFL. And that history, so far, is terrible.

He’s had some good moments.

It is what it is. Like I said, I’m rooting for him to do well. He came out during COVID & had a QB coach die tragically. He got the yips & got benched.

I’d love to see a redemption arc.

You’re not rooting for him.

I said no such thing. I was simply pointing out that using his college years only matters during the draft. Once you're in the NFL, all that matters is your NFL performance. And it certainly has been more than "just a couple" starts.

Great, so then I guess there was no need for you to even respond to my positive post hoping for good things with such negativity then.

I said I hoped he was better for the time off, & I that was rooting for him, and you were compelled to say “he’s terrible” in response.

No other way to interpret that, really. It wasn’t any sort of detailed analysis of his overall game - just a knee jerk insult of the kid. Seems unnecessary. Like, I have eyes. I’ve seen his games. Your statement was irrelevant to my comment.

So I’ll keep rooting for him, and you can keep doing….whatever it is you’re doing.

Have a good day.

I feel fine about rooting for the dude. You should maybe try introspection for your compulsion towards negativity.

Kindly stop projecting feelings onto me that I don’t have. You’re certainly not “being excellent”, as board rules suggest.

Not sure how many ways I can politely ask you to stop engaging with me here before I have to report it as harassment.

I'm simply responding to YOUR posts that you post in a PUBLIC forum. It's clear you're way too emotional over this and the only one projecting or acting irrationally is you, especially over a guy you have no personal relationship with and who doesn't even know you exist. We talk this way and discuss this about all other players, but for some reason Zach Wilson is off limits?

Feel free to report me if you wish, but I'm not so sure it will go the way you think it will.

Of course I CHOSE to quote you in a PUBLIC forum that you posted in. I simply pointed out that his college performance has nothing to do with his NFL performance and then YOU got all emotional about it and went off the deep end, accusing me of some nefarious intent because I simply pointed out that his NFL performance is what matters.

And what's this stuff about "football analysis" that you seem to require everyone provide for you to be a valid response? You provided ZERO analysis yourself in your OP. In fact, your "football analysis" included the words "hoped" (the exact opposite of "analysis") and "improved on 1 or 2 things", without even specifying what those "1 or 2 things" are.

And, unlike you, I have not called you any names so don't think ending your posts with "Have a nice day" is going to cover that up. You're taking this way too personally for some reason and I have no idea why.

You don't get to call people names, accuse them of nefarious intent and then walk away and tell them to leave you alone and act as if you did nothing wrong. There WILL be a response. People do get to defend themselves - you don't just get your say. And all of this because of an innocuous post that YOU took the wrong way.

I would suggest that if you don't want people to respond to your posts, don't post in a public forum.

And, unlike you, I have not called you any names so don't think ending your posts with "Have a nice day" is going to cover that up. You're taking this way too personally for some reason and I have no idea why.
I didn’t call you names. I pointed out that you’re being a jerk.

I also reported you for it.

Kindly leave me alone.
I like what both of you bring to the Shark Pool, can you two without losing any face here, just let it go?
I think we should all just grab a bucket of popcorn and enjoy the show
I think Wilson is an absolute :tfp:
I don't wish him any ill will, don't think either of you do
I'm not rooting against him but I'm not rooting for him either.
I want to be entertained and this will fill the bill on Sunday, hoping it might be the local in my area since Miami plays tonight and we have so many New Yorkers down here in South Florida

This topic isn't worth a big tug of war but it does require a cold adult beverage and some snacks
Cheers!

As usual, MOP brings the good sense.

Consider it let go.

I clearly stated I’m rooting for him. He seems like a good kid who’s had his share of early struggles. Sometimes the NFL has a welcome mat. Sometimes it’s a slap in the face. His early experience was the latter. It will be a good story if he can emerge stronger for it.
I'm not rooting against him but I'm not rooting for him either.

That’s fair.

I’m hopeful you’re entertained today - and hopefully it will be by good play on the field.

💯
That’s the plan after work anyway.
