How many WRs do they keep?

Who gets cut?

for reference-how many did they keep last year?

some names:

Drew Bennett, David Givens, Bobby Wade, Brandon Jones, Roydell Williams, Courtney Roby, Tyrone Calico, Jonathan Orr, and Mario Hill

Drew Bennett, David Givens, Bobby Wade, Brandon Jones, Roydell Williams
bumpI'd guess the above 5 guys and wonder if Roby can go on the practice squad or not. If not I'd bet he's picked up right away. Keeping 6 WRs seems like too much

Im still waiting for Calico to break out like everyone thought, I think his time has near passed. They still have a good young group and Givens can only make them better.

Lets break down the Titans' offensive roster:

They will likely keep 25 players.

QB: Volek, Young, Mauck, Hodges

RB: Brown, White, Henry, Payton, Nash, Gaither, Reid

FB: Fleming

WR: Givens, Bennett, R.Williams, Roby, Jones(PUP), Calico, Wade, Orr, Small, Thomas, Mattos, Hall, Hill

TE: Kinney, Troupe, Scaife, Guenther, Petroski

OT: Roos, Stewart, Loper, Singletary

OG: Olson, Piller, Bell, Douglas, Warford, Erickson

C: Mawae, Amano, Olds, Rodriguez

Ive italicized players I project to be cuts.

At QB, they will most certainly keep 3.

At RB, as I have said before, TEN has 3 talented runners who don't play special teams, and a promising guy in Jarret Payton who does.

At FB, Fleming will be the only one on the roster, and Scaife will back him up.

At WR, the question becomes will they keep 5 or 6? Jones will be PUPed and not count against that number, but if they keep only 5, Wade and Orr will have to fight for the last reciever spot.

At TE, they will again most likely keep 4, which in turn will likely mean they only keep 5 WRs.

At OT: I project they will only keep 3 tackles, as G Jacob Bell can also play tackle, and might very well be the opening day right tackle. They would prefer that he not have to start though.

At OG: They will keep 3 and the aforementioned Bell.

At C, I can't see them keeping more than Mawae and Amano.

The above gives us 27 total players on offense. As I wrote above I project them to keep 25 players on offense. If they keep 4 TEs, they will likely only keep 5 WRs. That gives us 26 players. What that means is one of the RBs likely has to go, unless Fisher decides to keep 26 offensive and 25 defensive players.

With them only keeping 5 WRs, they would then REALLY need one of their RBs to play special teams. If this is how it plays out, I think one of Brown and Henry will be gone.
Basically, I think Jones will be PUPed.If they keep 6, its Givens, Bennett, RWilliams, Roby, Wade, Orr

If they keep 5, Wade and Orr are fighting for a spot.

I think Orr could be practice squad material...I think Calico maqakes the final roster
What are the rules for practice squad?Orr is likely to remain property of the Titans since they drafted him in the 6th IIRC. But can they dump him ont he practice squad? Is it up to him?

certain number of starts or minutes on the field the previous year and under 3 in the NFL I believe.

this is a fantasy wasteland. without Mcnair, I'm not too psyched on any of these guys. would I own any in a redraft? only at good value, and even at that, I can only see a WR like Bennett being a serviceable WR3.

what if it appears in late august they're gonna go with Young as their starter. Still a "wasteland"?

Even more of a wasteland, unless your league gives WRs points for tackles.VY has awesome potential, but I sure won't want to count on his WRs. Think Vick, only worse.

Probably - practically no rookie qbs have decent passing stats
