No kidding. This is the same guy who said that John Schneider was THE best GM in football the last 3 years. He brings ridiculous to a whole new level.
ITS is over the top homerism. No doubt. That said, Schneider and Carroll have killed the draft and free agency since coming to Seattle.

I don't have the numbers at hand, but I'm willing to guess that they're directly responsible for adding more pro-bowl and all pro talent to the roster in the past three years than any other coach/GM tandem in the NFL.
Which is well and good...but the Eagles put together some nice signings and the Redskins used to sign and sign and sign.

FA and draft "grades" don't really make a GM great.

Schneider is doing a heck of a job...no doubt about that.

But calling him the best without advancing even to the NFC title game at this point seems a bit premature.

Jerry Reese, Ozzie Newsome, Ted Thompson, Kraft/Belichick...have to put them up there right now (Colbert of the Steelers too).

Teams that have been at or near the top...won titles...and stayed at or near the top for several years now.

Sure seem to be nitpicking here. No one is talking about "grades" other than Seahawk haters. Let's take a look at some of the players Schenider has acquired that have TURNED INTO pro bowl players since being on the team:

Trades for Leon Washington, Marshawn Lynch, Chris Clemons(even though he didn't go last year because of his injury in the ATL game) Getting all these guys for peanuts, I might add.

Draft:

Earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Russell Wilson, Russell Okung,

Free Agency:

Brandon Browner

Seattle has 11 players under the age of 30 that have made a pro bowl, and this list is not even including young guys Schneider acquired like Bobby Wagner, Cliff Avril, KJ Wright, Golden Tate, Bruce Irvin, etc who are capable of making it in the very near future.

Sorry that I don't take a fan voted pro bowl as the end all be all of judging talent.

Especially when guys end up making it simply because they were 5th or 6th on the list and others guys won't or can't go.

My point remains...that its not all about just draft and FA...and it does not take a "seahawk hater" to say that.

And its funny to think that many even "hate" them anyway.

And the other point remains that the GM's I mentioned have had more success and sustained success in this league.

one thing brohans i think it will be interesting to see how the read option does this year i htilnk with the offseason a lot of coaches will be better at defending it and we will see more injuries to the read option qbs look at what happened to robert griffen the third who i call the tripler that is his nickname eventually they just get hurt and i predict you see a lot more d coordinators saying hey that is fine go ahead and make that lateral pass the first few series well i have a lb drill you into the ground like he is looking for oil and you are a oil rig every time eventaully that is going to get a guy hurt and although i think it is sad because it is a neat system i think we will see more injuries to the qbs running it and hey it reminds me of the wildcat someways becayse it is neato cheeto and even guys like belicheck were baffled by it when the fins used it but by the next year everyone had caught up and it stunk up the joint so hey just some food for thought from the old swcer brohans whcih you can take to the bank for a knowledge deposit

He said the read option won't be as effective this year and quarterbacks with real passing skills will make themselves evident. Brohan.

Voted Wilson for Dynasty, but Kaep for this year. I think Kaep has a chance to run for 800+ yards while I still think Wilson's upside is capped by the offense not needing him to do as much. While it's true that both play on teams with strong defenses and running games, SF will NEED Kaep to run more than Seattle needs Wilson to run. Both will be bottom 10 in the NFL for passing attempts, but Kaep will challenge RG3 and Cam for most rushing yards by a QB.

In the long term, Wilson has Brees-like potential as a passer. Kaep is more of a Culpepper/Cam type who hasn't refined his throwing.

My QB strategy is to take whoever is left among RG3, Kaep, and Wilson in the 7th round.

I know I've said this multiple times in this thread but I want to go on record again as saying Kaep is going to end up the better NFL player by a decent margin 5 years from now. He's going to be a super star.

I was not on the bandwagon at all last year - not for any of the running QBs. I really changed my mind after watching some games again and reading some of the opinions of NFL beat writers. Rocket arm and runs as fast as RG3, but without coming off an injury. Plus was fairly accurate at 62%. I expect a bit of a hangover for all those young QBs, but for Kaep to be the best of all of them.

I'm looking forward to him coming to Lambeau on Sept 8th and watching him in person.

Harvin now expecting surgery, out until week 13-ish.

This changes things a little bit, but word from the 49ers training camp is that none of the other WR's have stepped up significantly. And Quentin Patton has a broken finger.

for the record a cap is a hat from a long time before the fifties so that has no bearing on this question take that to the bank brohans

anquan boldin is nothing? harbaugh needs to let Vern loose.

give me Kaeper, regardless of format
Did you watch Boldin at all last year? I have about the same odds of creating separation this year vs DBs
yes I did, did you?

week16 vs NYG - 7 catches 93 yards

round1 playoffs vs Indy - 5 catches 145 yards & 1 td

round2 playoffs vs Den - 6 catches for 70 yards

round3 playoffs vs NE - 5 catches for 60 yards & 2 tds

Superbowl - 6 catches for 104 yards & 1 td

he was a beast down the stretch

averaged over 16 yards per reception, the dude can play, still

discount Boldins ability to produce at your own risk, I dont think Baltimore used him right at all in that offense, and when then finally didid guess what, they won the superbowl.

Who cares about separation when the dude outmuscles the DBs for the ball?
What about the rest of the season when Boldin showed a remarkable ability NOT to get targets OR outmuscle DBs for the ball? Look, he's one of my all-time favorite players, but the dude is old and can't get even minor separation anymore. If you think outmuscling guys is a sustainable offensive gameplan, then consider Boldin a stud WR in waiting.
just wanted to bump this and kinda say told ya so......

congrats to those who draft boldin

up to Week 3, both guys have had 2 stinkers and 1 really good game
Since when is 320 yards and 1 td a stinker (wilson's first game)?Average is a better word.

Wilson has had an avg game, 1 stinker, and one above average game.

Kaep has had one above average game and two stinkers.
oops, I thought it was less. Kaep had a great game 1 btw... 400 plus and TDs
So does that change that Kaep had one great game and 2 crap games? And Wilson had 2 good games and 1 below average game.

Without Davis and any legit WR I like Wilson better right now. Even more when Harvin comes back. He just looks like a more polished NFL QB at this point. Kaepernick has big play ability but he seems to struggle when he can't run the read option affectively.

Last years rookie QBs thus far:
