Rams at Bills (1 Viewer)

Love the use of Fred Jackson so far. 3 carries for 2 yards.

Spiller still not being utilized by terrible Chan Gailey.

Every week these threads sound exactly the same. Spiller owners complaining about Fred Jackson.

It's not like there's anything else on the Bills to talk about.

Perhaps we'll get some Givens chatter here, soon. Bills D has been playing up to their potential of late.

Bills have 6 carries for 4 yards. The line is a mess due to injuries and Jackson is much better in protection.

Bills D is playing too good.

Chan should start subbing out some of his best defenders for Fred Jackson to spell them.

What a ##### decision by the Bills coaching staff at the end of the half there. 3 timeouts at the STL ~20 and 30 seconds on the clock. Short gain on a draw, timeout. Short screen pass, run the clock down to 7 seconds, timeout, field goal. Horrific decision-making.

Yep.

I hope this game gets Chan Gailey fired.

On the bright side, at least FJax got hurt. I may be one of the few Spiller owners left alive to take advantage of said fact.

Yep.
:goodposting: And equally poor at the end of the game. They bring no pressure and let the Rams march right down the field, after passing on an obvious FG attempt to give you a two score lead. This staff is pathetic.

Ok Spiller owners, you have every right to complain about usage today. :excited:

So you draft a RB that you refuse to use in precipitation. And you play in Buffalo

Even on the play after FJax got hurt another back was in there - not Spiller. Even with Cam I'm out thanks to both Bills RB's and the lovely Steeler D

How does spiller get 8 touches in a game they were winning almost the entire time? And 16 carries by both backs?
See, Chan wants to show he's clever by not doing the obvious thing.Because that's what the opposition is expecting, right? They're expecting you to use your best player against them. But Chan. Chan wants to be tricky. So he'll SURPRISE them with Fred Jackson. They'll never see it coming. And that's what makes him a special coach.Because any old stiff coach could just give their best player the ball.Chan's got to do something different to prove that he has value than some guy they grabbed off the street.

I'm conflicted about this one. On one hand, I want the entire staff to be fired and move along with the every-three-to-four-year cycle of blowing things up. On the other hand, what difference does it make as long as Wilson is the owner? It's not like we'll magically get a better staff than this one if we start over.

The Buffalo News had an article a few weeks back (by Bucky Gleason) and it ripped Wilson a new one, for several reasons- the stadium thing, and some of his management hiring decisions like getting rid of Polian, firing Wade Phillips, etc.I'm not a fan of Wilson either. But the coaching right now is what mystifies me. I know Gailey is supposedly an offensive Guru or whatever, but this pass happy offense makes no sense to me. That bugs me more than my complaining about how they use Spiller. This is not the team to go pass happy with IMO. Fitz as your QB and no true WR 1.Add in how they use Spiller, and it just seems to me to be poor coaching. Fred Jackson is a good RB, not taking anything away from him, but you are losing that dynamic potential by under utilizing a player like Spiller. And it's not like he hasn't shown he can carry the load.

I agree 100% -- no argument at all on any of these points. But let's say they fire Chan Gailey tomorrow. Whether they keep Buddy Nix or not (I'd prefer not), what would make anybody think that they would do better. This is the same team that hired Chan Gailey after he had been fired from Dallas and fired for Georgia Tech (!) and fired as KC's OC (!!) to step in and be their head coach. He was the only guy who would take the job. If I had sent in my resume, maybe I would be the lucky guy about to be fired.

Not sure but maybe he can look over at the Giants and see how Coughlin let his young back that was having a monster game keep getting the ball. 16 carries by 2 backs in a game you are winning or within 1 score should be a felony. If I was a Bills fan and Gailey and that staff was brought back next year I would burn down the stadium.

They should burn down the stadium anyhow.Ticket prices in Toronto are 300% more expensive for Bills games.
