So I had my appointment with the orthopedist yesterday. I guess it went about as well as I could have expected. Did some X-rays and he quickly dismissed the notion that it could be any type of femoral stress fracture. He basically said that that type of injury is only common among chicks. I asked if he's ever seen a 30 something year old man with a femoral stress fracture due to running and he said, NO. He did notice a little buildup of bone at the edge of my femoral neck...said that could be causing the hip pain. Also said that the pain above my knee is most likely due to an inflamed quad tendon.
So basically, I just need to get back on the anti-inflammatories for a month and just watch exercises that irritate my leg. If I still have pain in a month, it's MRI time.
Overall, I'm pretty pleased since I've been feeling a bit better each day and I've been given the greenlight to manage the injury myself.
