Darrin - nice run! You probably need more fluids. At that distance, you're burning through a lot more energy than you think. In early discussions on this thread, some of us were in agreement that it's these longer runs where we really start losing weight (desired, or not). This spring I weighed myself immediately before and after a 13 mile run and found that I had dropped 4 pounds ...which came back as I ate and rehydrated. I'm guessing you have a good scale, so on your next long run, you might try this. Translate the drop in pounds to ounces, and you'll get a sense of how much you need to replenish.
As an example, after my hard 75 minute workout this morning, I drank a meal replacement shake that was about 20 oz and then a bit later had another 20 oz or so of water mixed with Endurox. And that's after drinking about 30 oz of Gatorade during the workout.
It's probably too early for us to start on beer ....

In terms of gear, I had picked up some clothing stuff a few weeks ago (tri outfit, and some on-sale cold weather clothes), so other than checking out some new running shoes, I'll be careful.
That is most definitely the place to get a new bike- unbelievable deal. I don't see much American Classic wheels around these days (I vaguely remember seeing more of them 5+ years back)- any idea or thoughts about that wheelset?

I'm going to sneak out of work early this afternoon to run a quick 6-miler before the wife gets home from work. The forecast for 4:00 is sunny skies and 90 degrees. Ugh. I guess that's what I get for choosing not to run before work this morning. (Although, in fairness, I did have a breakfast meeting at 7:30 which would've made it tough anyway.)My running club is sponsoring a 5K cross-county run in Oshkosh tomorrow (Wednesday) night at 6:00. I didn't run XC in high school, and I've honestly never run any distance on grass, so I've got no idea what kind of time to expect. Should be interesting. You should make the trek down Highway 41 and check it out.
