@AAABatteries, unfortunately this is not uncommon with nerve injuries.
Those people that were doom and gloom about Jaylon Smith ever playing again? It's because the injury was nerve. He could do all of the necessary things to get right and there was still a possibility of it not firing again. Why did Marcus Mariota's season go south last year? Nerve. Sure, he played, but if you spent more than a few minutes watching that offense and didn't know about his injury you'd just repeatedly scream what the #### are they doing. Welp, they were calling an offense that masked that nerve thing as much as possible because a limp armed Mariota was optimal to the alternative, Blaine Gabbert. Because once that nerve injury lasted more than a few minutes it was going to last a long, long time. How long? No one knows.
So should you pay for the MRI? No one here can answer that. It could yield a tangible result and it could yield absolutely nothing. Lots of injuries suck, but nerves are near the top of the list. Because it's all variable and no one can assure you of anything no matter what you do.
