Ran a 10k - Official Thread (3 Viewers)

This section is taking longer for most people than I expected.  If Duck is anything close to his pace chart, he'll be making a big jump here.

Duck at 48.8 in 12:56.

Up to 125.  18:48 pace that section.  7 min ahead 30 hr pace.  Leaked a little as predicted, but I'm pretty sure that was at the pit stop.  Still sitting at 2.5 hr ahead of broom wagon.

As Duck is kickin ###,  my boys doubled up on northern’s today at the same time. That will be a story when I get back. Had a fish dinner tonight that we caught today. Delicious.

No running. Had some beers.

Gonna run tomorrow morning. Get you some @SFBayDuck!

My hero made the cutoff at Pines1 by 6 minutes.

Up to 39 drops.  That is a ton not even halfway into the event.

hmmm....great section for Duck but he lost a few spots.

Mile 55 at 14:42.  Slipped 5 places.  Pace increased to about 17.  7 minutes ahead of 30 hour pace so he held serve.  Getting close to a 3 hour buffer on the broom wagon.

Basically he just crushed that section, as did those running with him.  Pretty of targets on the horizon for him.

Bitter with the win by 2 minutes.

Still waiting on Duck for next checkpoint. Hopefully it's just an issue of updating as I think he should have been there by now.

Mile 64 at 17:50.  Gained 10 spots.  He's now 11 min ahead of 30 hour pace which is a gain of 4 mins.  2:25 in front of the sweep.

Next section is 7.7 miles with a 2000 ft climb.  This is where he starts crushing souls.  He's budget for a 23 min/mi pace here

82 runners or 30% of the field has been eliminated.  The 75 yo was broomed up at mile 49 missing the cutoff by 30 minutes.  6 in total were eliminated there, 2 others made the cut by one minute and said F this.  Current DFL is long overdue at mile 55.  Runner in front of him will be eliminated at mile 66.  2 runners made it to mile 66 at the cutoff with 5 others with only a 25 minute cushion.

Duck should be at mile 71.7 in the next report.  A runner who was 10 min behind him just came in.

And he's in at 20:51, up 4 spots to 118.  He's 7 min ahead of 30 hr pace and 2:09 in front of the cutoff.  The later number will continue to drop as he's budgeted more time in the later part of the race than the RD has with the cutoffs.  Duck should be at the next station by 22:15, it's a 3.6 mile section.  He's budgeted 21:40 for that section.  That will leave him less than a mary away with 7 3/4 hours to break 30 hr and 9 3/4 hr to finish.  The late would be a 23:24 pace and it's all downhill, meaning he's just about at the point that he could waddle the rest of the way and finish.  Congrats on a great race this far Duck.

Looks like the reporting at Toddd's Cabin went down after the first I've runners.  That makes the next report at Pines2 or 80.3.  Duck has targeted 23:55 arrival time which means were about 2.5 hours from a report or about 9 am edt.

Two runners have been out on the section Duck just finished in 3 hours for about 6 hours.  85 runners now eliminated.  Current DFL needs to run the next 8.6 miles at a 15:45 pace.  He hasn't seen that pace since yesterday morning.  Will take a Herculean effort to pull that off.

Well I had planned to do a 12 hour event today.  The event didn't appear to fill in years past so I waited on registering.  I went to register in early May and ended up waitlisted.    I was about 40-50 down the list.  I e-mailed the RD from my work address and asked about the odds of getting in and never heard anything.  I checked the waitlist a couple of weeks ago and had only move up two spots so I made plans to work today.  Turns out that I got an invite to enter into the race on Tuesday at the e-mail address that is attached to me at Ultrasignup.  It's also the address where I have 19000 unopened emails from the last 6 months.  I'm not to bummed because we are supposed to have t-storms all weekend with 4-5 inches of rain and flooding.  I'm wondering if the RD saw the weather forecast and realizing he would have plenty of no shows, just invited most of the waitlist to score some more entry fees without the risk of exceeding the capacity limit?

And now a bunch of results for Todd's Cabin including guys who already finished the race were just posted.

But they are lagging by 1.5 hours so basically useless.

Two DNFs just posted.  Pace for the last split 65:06 and 70:13.  Those two know what hell is like.

Two groomed up at the mile 72, another dropped.  89 people or 1/3 of the field won't finish.    That's a pretty substantial number.

still always weird to wake up after 8 hours in a bed knowing that Duck was out there running all night.  God bless and good luck for a strong finish.

Top 10 now in.  10th finished with a very strong 23:01.  About 10 people battling it out for a sub 24 finish.

Well I was wrong.  Tom's Cabin is open for business.  Duck in at 22:02.  He's now 13 min ahead of 30 hr pace and 1:58 in front of the sweep.

Edited as the website posted erroneous info.  Duck is now 115th.

I'm pretty sure Duck has made it to the Pines2 station and we are just waiting for the next batch of results to be posted.

Place 107 came in 30 minutes ago and Duck was 116.

One more clipped at Tom's Cabin.  4 racing for their lives with 8 or fewer minutes on the sweep.

Duckdate...In at 23:57, runner 121.  2 min behind 30 hr pace.  That section must have been painful at a 23:00 min/mi pace.

FYI...When they post updates, the slower runners get posted first and then faster runners.  A 24:20 went up in that last batch before Duck's 23:57 making it look like the wheels had come off.  On the other hand, at the prior station they had him placed at 96th for a few minutes.  Keep that in mind as you look for updates and give things a few minutes to flush through.
