Yep, 15 minutes ahead of the cutoff. You've got this Duck.Last update shows in at Peachstone (Cal-2) at 2:15 AM and he moved up to 259th place. Go Duck.
Best part is that he hit the required pace to do this. Needs a 17:45 min/mi pace to the finish. He's through Rucky Chucky at 4:26am, 34 minutes ahead of the cutoff!
He's running stronger than virtually all 200 of the remaining runners on the course. He crushed that 2 mile climb in 38 minutes! He has nearly two hours to cover 5.4 miles before the last cutoff.
That was a key section. He went +16 spots in less than two miles. ?He's running stronger than virtually all 200 of the remaining runners on the course. That was a key section.
It's almost impossible to extrapolate his next arrival as the people coming into the next AS had huge leads on Duck and now Duck is putting in 5+ min a mile into them. He jumped 16 places in just the last 1.8 miles. This is shaping up like his last 100 where he finished stronger and faster than his early and middle miles. I can't even begin to express how beastly that last section was.Needs to average 17:27/mi last 20.4 miles. Sending positive vibes Duck!![]()
I'll stop posting. Sitting at a soccer field f5ingI really need to be doing chores, but I can't leave the computer waiting for the sound that signifies a new post in this thread.
Do. Not. Stop!I'll stop posting. Sitting at a soccer field f5ing
same, Duck be crazy and awesome. love watching this unfoldThis is awesome. Just wrapped 10 miles thinking a lot about a run that includes snowy mountain and 100+ degrees. Does not compute.
Go Duck and team.
the whole concept of passing runners, WS qualifying runners, after mile 80 is amazing. No reports from the field here, yet. But again, when running, his pace was very good ...maybe 14-15 min/mi pace, and that's in the dead of night. We averaged about 17-18 min/mi on those legs, I believe. Now he has an experienced ultra runner and friend with him to the end - and daylight.
We had four legs in our 16 miles from 11:20 pm to 4:20 am. He ran nicely through three of them, and struggled with the other - couldn't eat solids, and was too low on energy. When running, yeah, we passed runners.
And he did. 17:46The last five into Auburn Hills Trails had a pace between 18 and 20 min/mi. I feel fairly confident Duck is going to smash that.
While the athletic side of this alone is amazing, the mathy, mental and strategic side is what makes this so ####### mind blowing. And he did. 17:46
You should heard some of geeky calculations going on in the middle of the night. Duck probably kept running just to get the hell away from me.While the athletic side of this alone is amazing, the mathy, mental and strategic side is what makes this so ####### mind blowing.![]()
