But that is almost 2 inches of rain forecast between Monday and race time Saturday morning!
I don’t always sit at work, but when I do...You guys sit at work?

With the ball still up in there?I get up and walk around a lot. Does that count? I'm at 13,396 steps today.
Yeah...variety is key- in both routes and types of workouts. Thanks for the tips. I have been running on either a treadmill (days where I have to run later at night) or on the same trail (1 mile loop). Perhaps I'm just getting bored and need to find a new route. I like the idea of mixing it up a little with harder stretches. Honestly even when I do my long runs on weekends, I so want to just sprint for the last mile but I avoid doing that as it will screw my avg HR for the run.
2/28/20 - 3/5/20 Average pace 9:06 min/mile HR 144 (5K race during this stretch)2/16/20 - 2/22/20 Average pace 9:18 min/mile HR 148 (VO2 max still sitting at 48-49, though)
This also explains your quick, short stride.I think it helps the posture.
Resist that temptation! "Push," but don't sprint. As it is, with any sort of accelerations or hill work, don't overdue it as you get acclimated. Otherwise you risk pulling something in your glutes (butt). Thanks for the tips. I have been running on either a treadmill (days where I have to run later at night) or on the same trail (1 mile loop). Just another week... C'mon NYC- hold out!Not a surprise.....Rome Marathon cancelled
Italy is level 3 now according to CDC. All schools are closed in the country for a couple weeks.

Probably because the cross-training is giving all your muscle groups good covfefe.I won't push it much this week but I'm feeling fascistic.
Fever = rest dayWhat's everyone's policy on working out/running while sick? Developed a cold over the weekend and outside of a slow run on Sunday have just been taking it easy and having an unexpected off-week. You all run through a cold or something similar and I'm just being a pansy?
Just go race a marathon. What's everyone's policy on working out/running while sick? Developed a cold over the weekend and outside of a slow run on Sunday have just been taking it easy and having an unexpected off-week. You all run through a cold or something similar and I'm just being a pansy?

It takes a lot to keep me from working out. A lot. What's everyone's policy on working out/running while sick? Just yell at her like Grue did to you. I'm sure she will understand its coming from a place of love. She is!
In fact, her resting HR finally back to normal last 2 days. She thinks she's going to struggle. I think she'll do just fine.
10K Sunday, goal depends on if the snow coming down right now results in lingering ice on the course.
Good luck!10K Sunday, goal depends on if the snow coming down right now results in lingering ice on the course.
Thanks, sun and low 30's Sunday morning should be great - the variable is all about the course conditions. The parts I'm worried about generally aren't treated and are prone to flooding.Good luck!
Hope the weather cooperates for you.
This is what I've got going on right now. It's pretty mild overall and feels fine today. Felt fine yesterday too until about a mile in during my easy run. I know I tweaked my hip and caused it on Sunday evening after the race. I'm 100% positive it was just from fatigued muscles (especially with the elevation) which caused lack of stability and I felt it on a specific step and then later on while I was laying on it that night at work. That night and Monday was definitely the worst of it.
I didn't really do much (any?) yelling. I'm much more manipulative than that...ChiefD said:Just yell at her like Grue did to you. I'm sure she will understand its coming from a place of love.
Yeah, not much yelling at all.I didn't really do much (any?) yelling. I much more manipulative than that...
Tell me more...Looks like I'll be getting hammered in Poland in a few weeks.![]()
I think stretching better has helped me with this in the past. This is what I've got going on right now. It's pretty mild overall and feels fine today. Luckily it's mostly worse when running slowly so it really shouldn't be an issue tomorrow at all. Right now I'm not feeling anything at all. I'm hoping when I go out for an easy 2-3 miles today it doesn't flare up at all. I've gotten this intermittently in the past before when my hip has felt weak/less stable and it usually aches for 2-3 weeks as it slowly goes away. This is about as mild as it's ever been and it's been a while since I've had it and I'm guessing it's because I've increased overall strength in that area from volume. Just another reminder how important it is to not overdo things and listen to your body.
My favorite race report. Ever.Oh, another little funny story from our IB weekend.
As it's been well documented, @gruecd doesn't like coming in 2nd place. He wasn't particularly fond of the fact that my watch had me at a slightly longer distance and faster pace than him on our Saturday run.
Well, on Sunday, after my 5K and his HM, we went out for a 1 mile cool down run. As we're approaching the end of the run and coming up to the hotel, I ask what his watch was saying. It had him 0.01 miles longer than me which would then also result in a faster time for him. Of course, he's a bit more tired than I am after 3 warm up miles and then the HM. Without warning, as we get to the front of the hotel, I break out in a full sprint.
All I hear is "YOU MOTHER####ER!!" being yelled from behind.
These 2 people standing in front of the hotel burst out laughing as did I. And I knew he was tired because he made no effort to follow along.
